Battle with Fury Zombie (2)

Matthew had just left the fury zombie with some minor injuries, nothing that would make it easier to fight him. It seemed like he would have to face a difficult battle. As he was pondering about his chances in this battle, Matthew felt Little Black approaching and put a smile on his face as he thought, "Let's start the fight."

He could feel the excitement started to bubble in him for having the chance to face the fury zombie along with Little Black, but there was still a part of him inside that felt afraid for not knowing if he could face the fury zombie even with the help of Little Black.

The combination of attack plan between him and Little Black was a simple one, but if it was delivered at the right timing, it would decide the end of the battle; he would distract the fury zombie and give an opening for Little Black to attack. He was sure he could maximize the damage she could cause to the fury zombie this way.

The roar stopped and he saw the fury zombie charged towards him madly, crushing the corpses all the way. Seeing this gory scene, Matthew felt sick but he quickly put that thought aside. He realized it was not the time for it, but couldn't help but think whether Little Black could still eat those broken corpses or not.

In the brief seconds when the huge zombie was charging towards him, Matthew noticed that the others were all ending their respective battles and could help to kill the fury zombie if necessary, especially the man with the pistol. At least Matthew hoped they could help in some way. The woman who had an skill to manipulate the fire, a guy who could create steel wires; these skills could provide a certain amount of support if they helped him correctly.

That thought didn't linger in his mind for too long as the fury zombie had thrown its punch towards Matthew. This time, he did not wait until the last second to dodge the attack and swiftly moved to the left. Although this early dodge could give more chances for the fury zombie to react and try to fix the direction of the attack , Matthew doubted this would happen anyway since the fury zombie had no value in the status of intelligence and wisdom.

As if to confirm what Matthew had thought was right, the fury zombie continued to charge in the same direction until it hit the wall of a building and broke the wall. The glass of the building cracked from the impact of its crash. In a short while, it came out with some wounds from that crash and looked at Matthew with its red eyes, as if Matthew was his biggest enemy and it would not rest until either one of them was dead.

Matthew ran up the fury to attack it, this time he was taking the offensive side. He believed that when they had equivalent powers, the one with the initiative would win the battle. Not that they were equivalent in power, but Matthew now had Little Black who was waiting for a chance to attack the fury zombie and the rest of the group would end their battles soon enough.

As he arrived in front of the fury zombie and when was about to attack it, the fury zombie raised both hands into the air and held them together, then swung it down with all its strength on the ground. Of course, Matthew had already backed off when he realized that the fury zombie would attack.

* Smash *

* Boom!! *

Matthew began to sweat cold as he saw the ground breaking from the brute strength of the fury zombie. The zombie itself was sinking to the ground and cracks was still spreading across the road. He began to imagine what if he had not dodged and decided to continue with the attack. He would be meat pulp at that time. And that did not sound impressive at all.

The fury zombie jumped for about five feet in the air and landed a few feet away from Matthew. Taking advantage of the fact that it was not ready for a battle yet, Matthew commanded Little Black to attack the fury zombie. At the same time, Matthew began to run towards the fury zombie as well and pierced the thigh of the fury zombie with his sword.

This time the attack was a little more effective than cutting, since the piercing damage of the sword was a bit better than the cutting damage. However, it was not enough to damage the fury zombie since the sword stopped after piercing the muscles of the upper thigh.

Fortunately, Little Black had started her attack as she began to curl up around the body of the fury zombie and began to squeeze its body. When he heard the cracking sound coming from the body of the zombie, Matthew felt somewhat excited and happy. It was as if its bones were breaking and it would surely be down in any time, but Matthew had surely underestimated the fury zombie.

The fury zombie did not seem to mind that its bones had been damaged and began to put all its strength into breaking whatever it was holding. A painful sensation hit Matthew and he could feel as if something was crying from his connection with Little Black.

Realizing something went wrong and that Little Black was suffering and could even die, Matthew started screaming desperately through his connection with Little Black.

"LITTLE BLACK, RELEASE IT NOW!"
