Chapter 10

Once the door closed Chen Lihua burst into tears, she found the fact that Mo Ting and Xie Yurin betrayed her more painful than losing her company and house, those two meant so much to her. For the whole of the day Chen Lihua didn't say anything else to anyone, she sat by her room window while looking at the sun gradually set in she looked calm and nonchalant but she was clearly in deep thoughts. She ate her meals, took her medicines and went to bed but still didn't say a word.

The next morning Chen Zixi, Xi Ming, Qin Lifei and Mian were the first people Chen Lihua saw immediately she woke up, Xi Ming and Mian helped her take a bath and get ready while Lifei cleaned her room and Zixi fed her. The four of them occasionally looked at each other and then at Chen Lihua, she seemed to be in a good mood and she also didn't mention anything about whatever she learnt the day before. The four wanted to ask her what she was thinking but they didn't know how to so they all kept quiet.

Chen Lihua spent the whole day playing and teaching Yingbao and then watched TV, she had her meals and slept but never once said anything related to what they were all curious to know, two more days went in the same manner Chen Lihua seemed so relaxed and at peace, she clearly didn't have any plans of doing anything to avenge her accident and all the wrongdoings done to her, everyone in the villa were curious and anxious especially Chen Zixi and when he finally couldn't take it anymore he confronted Chen Lihua on the fourth day.

"Sis, its been four days since you learnt the whole truth about everything that happened six months ago but you still haven't said or done anything about it. When are we going back to China?", Chen Zixi asked while feeding her and everyone else turned to look at Chen Lihua they all wanted to know the answer to the same question, Chen Lihua calmly looked at all of them and replied in her usual cold apathetic voice

"I am never going back to China",

"What!!!", Chen Zixi yelled and put down the plate of food in his hands.

"What are you saying Sister Lihua, you are never going back to China?, are you going to let those two off just like that?, what of our company and house?, you worked hard for that company for four whole years bringing it to were it is today are you going to give it all up just like that?", Chen Zixi asked looking at his sister with a disbelieving look

"They only have the company and house, I have many more other businesses that are still flourishing and I have a lot more properties for us to live comfortably for the rest of our lives, I am not interested in ever going back to China", Chen Lihua said in a determined and unwavering tone looking outside the room windows.

"Sister Lihua it's not about the properties, its about betrayal. Those two attempted to kill you and I am still so grateful you survived or you would have been dead by now and you want to let them off, no sister Lihua its just not done and I will never agree to this", Chen Zixi said in an equally determined tone. The two siblings were involved in a fierce eye battle and the other people in the room could feel the heavy tension.

"Zixi, after barely escaping death I have learnt so many important lessons about life. Before my accident, I was someone almost everyone feared, I was apathetic, ruthless, cunning and manipulative. I always knew how to get whatever I wanted no matter what it was. I would result to threat and blackmail when I was disobeyed, I often used people's weakest spots against them, Zixi I have hurt so many people to the extent of pushing some to their deaths".

"Zixi I believe everything that happened to me was Karma, it was the curse and anger of all the people I had hurt working. Zixi I barely survived death and now I have learnt to cherish everything I have, to hold onto to the people that care about me, to live and embrace my second chance at life and I don't want to waste this brand new second chance of my life on revenge and hatred. Its just not worth it, Xie Yurin and Mo Ting will get the punishment they deserve for everything they did at the right time, Karma will tell later tell on them too but I don't ever want to go back to China, that country holds more bad than good memories for me", Chen Lihua said looking calmly at her younger brother.

"But Sister Lihua", Chen Zixi squatted in front of her and held both her hands

"Those two have hurt you so much why are you doing this"

"Zixi I have thought things through, I feel so peaceful and serene here like this and I have never felt so peaceful my whole life I don't want to ruin this rare quiet in my life by worrying about hatred and vengeance. I am already in this state incapacitated on a wheelchair, I can't do anything on my own anymore and Its uncertain if I will ever feel the joy of marriage and motherhood", Chen Lihua felt her eyes become misty with tears but she didn't let them fall.

"I would rather spend the rest of my life enjoying the serene life of Boston, visiting the orphanages and helping humanity in any way I can and trying to right my wrongs of the past. I have a Fashion Hub called Imperial Fashions in France as well as a Jewellry Design Company right here in the U.S named after our mom, Bai Zhi Jewellers the famous Cosmetics Company J.J cosmetics also belongs to me. I appointed Interim CEO's for the companies because I didn't want you reveal myself as the Chairwoman of the companies and so they could completely function without me and that's why they haven't contacted at all in the last 6 months"

"I will handle my three companies with your support and together we will both be happy here let's live our lives this way Zixi", Chen Lihua said smiling at Chen Zixi this past few days has been a rollercoaster ride for her from finding her long lost brother to finding out about her best friends betrayal, now she just wants to be happy and at peace.

"President Chen but.. ", Mian was saying when she was cut off by Chen Lihua

"The both of you have a stable job at Paradise Entertainment and you love what you do, you have already done enough for me now let me do the rest on my own from now on. I can at least be sure that my parents hardwork won't go down the drain if the both of you are there so go back. The whole world already thinks that Chen Lihua Is dead let it remain so, its better that way",

"President Chen are you sure this is what you want?", Lifei asked and Chen Lihua nodded, she was completely sure she wanted nothing more.

"If that's the case then we will do as you which we will leave after spending a few more weeks with you", Qin Lifei said smiling

"Sister although I am not happy with your decision I will always support you I have already lost my parents I don't want to lose you as well, we will do as you wish and no one will ever mention you going back to China ever again", Chen Zixi said and kissed his sister's forehead, anything was good as long as his Cherry was safe and happy.

Chen Lihua spent her days in complete bliss, Chen Zixi would take her for a stroll around the estate every evening once he came back from college and she would spend the days playing with Yingbao or coming up with ideas to improve her three companies, she made Chen Zixi the new general CEO of the companies since she didn't want anyone to find out she was alive, it was easy for Chen Zixi to run the companies while attending college simultaneously since their was an interim CEO in each of the companies that handled it well he only had to attend some meetings when needed.

Qin Lifei and Mian went back to China after spending one and half months in Boston, everyone went back to to their daily lives and Chen Lihua had to admit she really felt very peaceful, she attended therapies and took care of her health and gradually her neck fracture healed, and her internal injuries got better as well, she was gradually waiting to be able to move her hands and legs again and maybe walk and run like she used to.
