Chapter 4 Suspicion

"Name?" Aaron Liu thought for a moment, thinking it would be impossible to mention his bankrupt family name. "My name is Aaron, Grandma?" he replied hesitantly.

The grandmother smiled warmly at the man, who looked confused and full of doubts. She was sure that Aaron Liu had gone through a difficult time, so she was curious about Aaron Liu, who have the same age as her granddaughter.

"Just call me Grandma Jiang." A word that made Aaron Liu's heart feel very calm. Only this time, he found a stranger who treated him very well.

"Where do you live, Aaron?" Grandma Jiang again asked something personal to the young man. She didn't mean anything by it, thinking she wanted to repay the young man's kindness.

Aaron Liu needed clarification on the answer. In reality, he didn't have a place to stay at all. Moreover, all his money and important documents had disappeared along with his suitcase. The man must have been very frustrated about his miserable life.

"I'm looking for a place to stay, Grandma," Aaron Liu replied without looking at the face of the old woman who had treated him so well.

"Stay with me," Grandma Jiang replied, looking very serious. She even smiled warmly at a man willing to get hurt to help her.

Hearing Grandma Jiang's gentle, heartfelt words, Aaron Liu couldn't bear to refuse. However, he didn't want to trouble the old lady he had just helped.

"I don't want to trouble Grandma. I'd better find a place to stay for a while," Aaron Liu replied with a reluctant face. He realized that he didn't have a penny. All the money he had vanished along with the suitcase that had gone missing.

Grandma Jiang gave the young man in front of her a warm smile. She felt touched that Aaron Liu had no intention of taking advantage of her kindness. It encouraged her to persuade the young man to come with her.

It was rare for someone to reject a favor openly.

"Don't overthink it! You're not free to stay at my house. I'll hire you to take care of some work." Grandma Jiang didn't want to make Aaron Liu work for her. But seeing the young man's refusal made her think of a way to repay his kindness.

After thinking for a while, Aaron Liu finally decided on something that would instantly change his life. He couldn't stay on the streets without any money or identification.

"Alright, Grandma. I'm willing to work at Grandma Jiang's house. Whatever the job is, I'll do it all," replied a man with nothing left. There was some relief in his heart. At least he'd found a place to stay for a while.

Once they finished their lunch, Grandma Jiang walked Aaron Liu to a taxi waiting for them in front of the restaurant. Previously, the old lady had ordered an online taxi service while still inside the restaurant.

Despite feeling hesitant, Aaron Liu finally got into the taxi. He sat next to the old lady he had helped earlier. He was still thinking about the fate that had brought him to nowhere. The man had nothing or no one to lean on.

Within minutes, the taxi entered a luxurious mansion with several guards at the gate. Aaron Liu had no idea that Grandma Jiang lived in such an elegant mansion. He was sure that she was very wealthy.

'If Grandma Jiang is so rich, why would she go to the bank alone?' Aaron Liu could only ask in his heart. He couldn't possibly ask that directly. It would not be nice of him to do so.

Not getting out of the taxi, Grandma Jiang finally pulled Aaron Liu's hand and slightly dragged him to go inside. Several servers greeted them. The man was made wide-eyed by the welcome.

"Servants! Take Mr. Aaron to the guest room. Attend to all his needs!" Grandma Jiang ordered a servant standing beside her. She was intentionally treating Aaron Liu very special.

Grandma Jiang did not intend to make Aaron Liu work in her home. She felt that the young man was no ordinary person. It was obvious from his face and appearance.

"No need to go overboard, Grandma. I can sleep in the servant's room." Aaron Liu felt he did not deserve to be a guest in the mansion. Of course, he was self-conscious, especially considering his family's miserable condition.

"You are a special guest in my house. There's no way I'm letting you sleep in the servant's room," Grandma Jiang insisted to a man who was getting increasingly confused about being treated so well by someone he had just met.

This time, Grandma Jiang put a bit of emphasis on her words. She did all this so that Aaron Liu wouldn't mostly reject her good intentions. Everything Grandma Jiang did for the young man was heartfelt, without any choices. Moreover, she heard he had lost his luggage and belongings because he had helped her chase the robber.

Additionally, Aaron Liu also got injured when facing the two criminals. How could Grandma Jiang's heart be utterly untouched by it all?

"Please come in, Sir. You can press this button if you need my help." The servant ushered Aaron Liu into the room and informed him that he could call out anytime.

"Thank you." That was the only short sentence from Aaron Liu's mouth before the maid left.

Everything felt like a dream to Aaron Liu. Starting from his family's bankruptcy, then being dumped by his wife-to-be. He still couldn't believe that he had met a human guardian angel like Grandma Jiang. At least the older woman's kindness could keep him afloat.

Without wanting to think about it anymore, Aaron Liu laid his body down and closed his eyes. It felt like it had been a very tiring day for him. Not only was his body tired, his heart felt very tired. Everything that happened in his life was utterly unimaginable.

In an instant, Aaron Liu began to drift off into a dream. Perhaps he was so exhausted that he fell asleep without realizing it.

Inside the living room of Grandma Jiang's mansion, several people had gathered at the behest of the hostess. They seemed to be having a serious conversation with Grandma Jiang. There appeared to be an emergency that required them to have such a sudden meeting.

"Starting tomorrow, you two work for the company. " I'll make Aaron my driver and assistant," Grandma Jiang ordered the two men, usually her drivers and assistant.

"Did we do something wrong, Ma'am?" The driver wondered why he had been transferred to the company. He felt he had done nothing wrong.

They suspected that the man who had just arrived had instigated Grandmother Jiang.
