Chapter 17 - The National College Entrance Exams

Her red alarm clock glowed bright yellow at 4.30 AM. She woke up like usual and got ready to start her day. Today was the day of the exams. The day that would decide her fate and her future path.

She had already gotten rid of everything she had used in the closet room. The only thing left was the blanket she had been using for 10 years. She had cleaned the room and left it spick and span.

She quickly made pancakes for breakfast. She made enough for Mingmei as well. Hua thought she should be the bigger person rather than be petty. Though, none of the family members deserved her help in any way. After today, it would be the end of her relationship with them.

After packing her breakfast and lunch, Hus grabbed her backpack and duffel bag that had all her clothes and toiletries. She put a sticky note on the refrigerator about the house keys. She was going to leave them under the front door carpet.
