The Return of the Three Sovereigns

The underground criminal Shiba Mitsuya, 37, died in a plane crash. Instead of ceasing to exist, he was reincarnated in another world inside the body of the 14-year old village boy named Cimmerian. In this new world, a unique energy particle called magiton existed that allowed creatures to cast magic arts. There are two types of magitons—negative and positive or better known as the evil and the good energy respectively. The story followed the adventure and exploits of the boy Cimmerian, his brother named Vaissien, and his village friends, as they conquered all of the world and encountered powerful beings that served as roadblocks.

Chapter 21: The Vow

When they reached their home, the three were silent. Cimmerian was thinking of how to open a conversation but Vaissien did it for him.

"Brother, you're so mean. I know you are already good in fighting. But I never thought that you have also mastered sword arts. You didn't even bother telling me about it." Vaissien muttered in a serious and somber expression.

"I only learned this after reading the book the Chief lent to me." He answered in a normal voice to calm him.

"It's fine. I have already decided. Please teach me what you learned in Chief Feldor's book." He bowed his head. "Actually, I sneaked and tried to read the book too, but I couldn't understand anything. I'm still not good in reading. So please, teach me."

"Stop it. Raise your head," he felt embarrassed a bit. "Listen, when we closed our duel a while ago, the Chief said to let you come along next time. I think he wants to teach you as well."

"I-Is that true???" His eyes glittered again, and his face turned red. "Then let's go there during breaks from the fields."

"Yes..."

The two were smiling on their own universe. But—.

"You idiots!!!" Belle yelled at them, "I don't remember of ever giving you permission to undergo some kind of dangerous training." She was standing behind them crossing her arms.

"Sorry, Big Sister, for not informing you. I've been self-training all this time." Cimmerian bowed at her sincerely.

"Please, Big Sister, allow me to learn swordsmanship too. It's been really my dream. I want to fulfill it." Vaissien was totally emotional.

"Stop... I'm not telling you to leave your dreams and follow what I have to say. One year from now, you'll already be young adults. The only thing I want you to do is take care of yourselves. Don't expose yourselves to danger." Belle looked away as she spoke.

"Yey!!!" Vaissien jumped in happiness. "Thanks, Big Sister Belle—."

"Big Sister Belle, are you okay?"

The two were surprised when they saw tears falling from their sister's beautiful eyes.

"I know that that after learning these swordsmanship and all, you'll be leaving here, right? You'll be leaving me here alone." She covered her face with her two gentle, yet, clearly overworked hands.

"Don't say that, sister. Of course, we won't leave you." Vaissien caressed her back.

"You liar!" She continued to weep, "I heard you. You and Ferm were talking about becoming adventurers, right?"

(Wait, I didn't know about this.)

It was also the first time that Cimmerian heard of it. "Wait, is it true, Vaissien?" He asked.

"Yes. Sorry for not telling you yet. I was planning to tell you after learning everything needed to become one "

"See? You will be leaving." She still couldn't get over it.

"No. Big Sis, if I become an adventurer, I'll bring you along, okay? I won't leave you." Vaissien hugged her.

(This is why I think family is very important. Why? Because even if the world becomes your enemy, or you explore the whole world, your family will never leave you. How sweet, these two...) Cimmerian thought.

"I agree, Big Sister. Whatever it is that comes ahead, I won't also leave you as well. Never, and this also applies to Big Sister Beatrice."

"Are you sure, you two? Can you promise me that?"

"I promise." Vaissien casually replied as he stopped his heartfelt hugging.

"That goes without saying." I affirmed to him.

"That's a vow, okay?" She settled down a bit...
