New Equipment

Drake quickly looked at the stats of his new weapon.

[Void Berserker Spear: When in combat, the player gains 3 additional abilities. Additional ability 1: Player may summon a void underneath an enemy to hold them in place for 5 seconds. (Cooldown timer: 2 hours) Additional Ability 2: Player can summon a void and increase the gravity in a fixed area by up to 3 times. (Cooldown timer: 6 hours) Additional ability 3: Player automatically uses special equipment ability 'void thrust' when using the last technique 'Final thrust' (Cooldown timer:n/a)]

Drake was flabbergasted at all the incredible things he could do with this spear and how he had just increased his power by leaps and bounds just with the spear! He looked at Fern and stated,"Fern, I thank you for this wonderful gift, you know the last technique I have and I can feel that you made this with me in mind. Thank you for the incredible gift!"

Fern, slightly embarrassed, said,"Yes, I've watched you train and fight so much that I was able to figure out how to add custom 'technique boosters' to just give you a little extra power." Drake was immediately impressed as this technique of channeling class specific 'upgrades' on weapons was not discovered in his past life by humanity until about 4 years after the game launched. Even then it was the Dwarf race that had managed to create the first one and even that was only a rare class weapon!

Drake chuckled and watched as Loco poured some of his blood onto the scimitars. Drake watched as Loco's eyes widened in surprise, most likely checking the stats of the weapon. Drake walked back up to his side of the table while Loco fervently thanked Fern. He cut his hand once more and poured a little bit of blood onto the armour in front of him.

Drake's eyes widened in surprise once more as he was once again given a very hard to find item. Epic class items and above were very hard to get for the normal player, and many times players would get in what was called 'The uncommon rut'. Players could easily buy and find common and uncommon equipment but more or less could never get anything better than a rare item since it was so incredibly rare. Of course towards the end of Drakes past the normal playerbase was starting to produce epic quality gear instead of trying to find it and it was seen as the grindiest part of the game.

Drake looked at the stats of the armour the same way he did for the spear and was shocked at what he found.

[Bloody Aura Armour: When worn by the player, gives 1 special ability and 2 stat boosts. Special ability 1: Player is able to manifest Aura to non-aura Users as bloodlust, giving the player a Red aura outline that is tangible to others as well as being an ability that can cast a stat debuff of 10% less strength on (3) opponents. (Cooldown timer: 2 Hours) Stat boost 1: If ever afflicted by a negative status ailment of any kind, players vitality is automatically doubled. Stat boost 2: Defense in combat is doubled upon equip of this armour.]

Drake looked at Ariana and said,"I.. wow.. I appreciate this gift and will strive to help you in any way I can in the future. I thank you for this wonderful gift!"

Ariana simply smiled and said,"It is fine, after all I was stuck making rare equipment for the last year and simply because of one sentence from you I was able to comprehend an Epic class. By my standards you have done more than enough!"

Drake coughed embarrassedly and said,"Ah.. Yes.. However your own hard work got you to this point, I simply helped." Drake quickly equipped his gear as he saw Loco drooling over his armour after he had done the same blood ritual. He activated his video recorder and then he stood in the middle of the open field and his demeanor changed to a stance of combat and he got ready to summon his aura.

The other three watched from the sidelines and watched Drake. Loco thought to himself,"Man, Drake looks friggin sick! I should put mine on!" Drake had gotten a black spear with a red tassel hanging off the end, and he also had black under armour and all the outer armour was red, giving him a very intimidating feeling.

Drake closed his eyes and concentrated on summoning his Aura into his weapon and into his armour, instantly activating both. Drake asked General,"General, since I have my eyes closed can you simulate the basilisk in front of me again?"

General responded,"Of course, My lord! Such a thing is easy!" Drake suddenly saw the basilisk appear in front of him and even though Drake knew it was not real he was still afraid to look at it's eyes. He summoned all his aura to come forward and then he started to have a mock battle with the basilisk!

Loco watched Drake while preparing his own armour, fascinated at all the technical movement Drake seemed to be pulling off effortlessly. Loco thought to himself,"It's even better now then when he fought the basilisk! I can't fall short! If I compete with Drake it has to be nothing less than perfection!" Loco had resolved himself to hold himself to the standard Drake seemed to impose on himself.

Drake finished the simulated fight with the basilisk on the very last technique, his final thrust aimed downwards to the ground and Drake yelled out,"Final Thrust!" Of course Drake wasn't fighting a real Basilisk and when Drake had thrusted his spear to the ground he used as much Strength and Aura that he could muster and then to make it more powerful added his lightning to it. All of this, combined with the custom void thrust that Fern had added in, made it so when the spear thrust actually hit the ground, there was a huge explosion.

BOOM!! The field they are standing in is rocked by shaking earth as the power Drake had used was strong enough to cause even Loco to get wind whipped back 30 feet. This wasn't even mentioning Fern and Ariana who went flying back from the force of the explosion, however they were safely caught by the chief who had ran outside when he heard the explosion and jumped and caught the two.

The chief ran up to Loco as Fern and Ariana had passed out from shock and yelled out over the explosion which was still going,"WHAT THE HELL DID HE DO?!?"

Loco looked back at the Chief and shrugged his shoulders, not knowing what had happened either. The loud boom from the explosion finally calmed down and as the dust was settling Loco and Chief saw Drake standing in the middle of the crater, calm and unmoving as well keeping his eyes closed. That was when Loco noticed it, there was a red mist-like substance floating around drake, so he asked the chief,"Do you know what that red mist is?"

The chief quickly realizes that Drake's new armour has somehow modified the Aura to show to normal non-aura users and quickly says,"It is part of his class, normally it is unseen, however it seems the armour has made it visible. It is similar to your mana, however it is different in a lot of important ways."

Loco nodded and didn't ask any more as he didn't want to tread on information about Drake without his friend's consent first. Drake slowly opened his eyes and suddenly the red mist aura around him expanded and ballooned in size. Drake held out his hand and produced his lightning in his hand, then pointed his palm towards himself.

The chief yelled out,"No! Don't!" However it seemed like Drake didn't hear the chief and he electrocuted himself with the lightning.

Drake screamed out in pain as the lightning scattered around his body, his whole body was on fire as he electrocuted himself while still trying to push his mist to an even bigger point, all the while never falling or succumbing to pain. The chief watched on in horror as Drake screamed a blood curdling scream, but that was when the chief noticed something happening, as the Aura mist was slowly starting to condense. Slowly but surely the mist was dissipating and getting thicker as it was being condensed trying to return to Drake's body.

The chief looked on in extreme worry and Loco heard him mumble "Zoran's Test" but couldn't hear anything else as the chief was getting very emotional. Drake stopped screaming and silently stood there for a moment and Loco noticed that all the red mist seemed to be gone.

Drake laughed very loudly and then said to himself,"It was excruciatingly painful but I managed to do it!" Right after saying this his red Aura burst out once again, however this time the mist looks more like solid lightning surrounding Drake. Loco and the chief watched on and both realized after a moment that Drake had made his lightning and mist forcefully combine! Drake had created a skill!
