SHATTERED

"Finally, we are almost there!" Mira exclaimed excitedly, with a wide smile stretching almost to the side of her cheeks.

Smiles... Zamiel couldn't stop himself from shooking his head at her adorable attitude. She was the most adorable thing to him, perhaps because he had a thing for her. Her happiness gives him joy, it makes him feel full like right now.

"If we get there, I can finally explore and find out the reason why I got here in the first place." She said squealing excitedly, to the extent that she was hopping like a bunny. His smile got wider but all of a sudden turned gloomy like dim lights.

"What's wrong?" She asked, taking her step closer to him. "Are you not happy?" She asked reaching out to his smooth soft cheeks. Her brows furrowing out of worry. She rubbed his cheeks with her thumb, staring into his ocean eyes, waiting for his reply. Her fingers wandered around his face tracing his brows, tucking his thick black strands of hair that fell out of place behind his ears.

"No, I'm not" Zamiel's voice echoed, having Mira dilate her eyes in shock. She took a step backwards to take a clear look at his face. Her slender fingers left his face, falling by her sides as she took a step backwards.

"Did she ear it wrong?. She just heard him speak but didn't see him speak. His eyes stared back at her in silence not giving a vibe that he said something. Did she imagined it or was that part of his supernatural powers too?."

"How do you expect me to be happy?" Zamiel's voice echoed again in her head, but once again his lips didn't make any move. Her heart skipped a beat as she gawked at Zamiel's face staring at hers.

"When you are about to get what snatched away from me" His voice resounded once more but from another direction. The voice surely didn't come from Zamiel, it was coming from.... from behind her!. She turned her body around so slowly, with pounding heartbeats. Her eyes dilated in shock at what her eyes saw. What went before her was unbelievable.

She stared at him in shock. He was there, staring right at her, with that expression, his stoic and over patient expression. Perhaps he was playing a prank on her. She turned her body to her south backing "Zamiel" to face another Zamiel. What is going on? She asked herself.

Where did the other Zamiel come from?. She recognised her own Zamiel, aside for the differences in their dress code she recognised him. Her Zamiel's presence felt so right and comforting but the other one his presence felt like a stranger's even though they shared the same face.

"Zamiel?" She called, hooking her arm in his and clinging onto him like a child. "What's going on?. Don't tell me this is one of your tricks" She asked with a fretting voice.

"No it's not. " The clone Zamiel replied instead, with a smile arousing goosebumps on her arms. "Right Zamiel?" The clone said, sparing Zamiel a glance.

"What's going on Zamiel?" Mira asked, shoting the clone a sceptical look, then averting her eyes from the clone to meet with Zamiel's eyes. "Is he perhaps your twin?" She asked staring into his eyes for answers.

"No he is not". Responded after almost a minute of pondering. His ocean eyes staring into hers with some sort of guilt. It was as if he was pleading with her through his eyes, perhaps she misinterpreted.

" Then....then who is he?" She asked with a trembling voice, and her furowed brows creased the more. She felt fear creeping in but she tried to force it away, push it out of her chest. She trust Zamiel too much to be scared around him or have doubt about his actions. Her eyes didn't leave his eyes for a second, she refuse to blink; Zamiel stared back at her in silence still with his pleading eyes. When did she start reading his eyes? It's not as if he had any expression on, his facial expression was indifferent as usual. Was it her instincts?

"I am Ramiel, the prince of Drenil, and I am your true husband, your true mate." The clone responded instead, introducing himself. Mira's gaze left Zamiel's for a few seconds to pay attention to the clones words.

"What do you mean true husband?" She asked with a change of tone. Her soft and gentle voice vanished into thin air transforming into anger. She didn't care who he was or what he was capable of. Some random creature can't just appear here and claim to be her husband. That wasn't happening again. Her hand reached out to Zamiel's, gripping it hard like a protective mother. She wasn't sure why she did that.

"What I mean is Zamiel- the man who you call your husband, is not your husband, he is an impostor. I am your true husband". Ramiel clarified, drowning in the effect his words had on Mira- anger, betrayal, disappointment, helplessness. But those negative emotion weared off in a few minutes, her mood turned bright all of a sudden. She averted her gaze from the clone, turning her attention back to her Zamiel for a proper explanation.

" It's true" Zamiel blurted, not giving her any space or chance to ask him questions. "I'm an impostor". He said, looking straight into her eyes with indifference, but all she could see in those pretty eyes was guilt.

" I am nothing but a fraud, a scamme,r name it" He confessed. "And you were our last operation into goodness and riches. " He added not with a tinge of regret in his voice.

"You were suppose to marry Ramiel the next day and not that day. And the attack on the palace wasn't an attack it was me kidnapping you. We already wrote a note requesting fortunes for your ransom to bail you out of our custody". Her eyes welled up in tears, but she forced it in to stop it from falling but she could hold it in any longer her tear was over flowing, threatening to break down her dam. Her heart pounded against her chest with full force as her ears consumes Zamiel's hurtful words. How could he do this to her?. How could he be so wicked and evil? She trusted him. She trusted him with all of her heart. Her thought was a mess as she listened further. She grabbed on to her chest holding the fabric tight as if refusing to choke on something.

" We were going to hand you over to your husband and you won't suspect a thing because we shared the same face. To you nothing changed, but to us a lot would change. However, the plan started to falter when I started accumulating feelings for you, resisting it was impossible; I couldn't resist it even though I knew it was a red flag and it was something despicable to do. I succumb to it anyways, so I changed my mind to follow the plans and pay for my crimes instead. " He confessed like a man that had been fed truth serum. His eyes glueing to her moisty own. He watched in silence as fat drops of tears kept falling from her eyes, then rolling down her cheeks. His heart ached to watch her in that state, there was nothing he could do because he was the one who landed her in that state. "Mira" he called, reaching out to her hands slowly. "I'm sorry" He apologised, holding her slender hands in front of his face with both his hands. She yanked her hands from his grip with full force. Her pathetic look turned fierce as she glared at her Zamiel fiercely.

"You broke my trust. You deceived me and you are saying sorry. All of you saw me as a source of wealth, a bait, a power stone. And you are here telling me you are sorry. Even if you are sorry, it doesn't change the fact that you all were using me all this while. You knew deep within yourselves and I was the fool, the host in the midst of mosquitoes.". She ranted, yelling at the top of her lungs, almost choking on her tears that kept flowing down her cheeks like waterfall.

Her fist clenched themselves tightly, she didn't even know how she was feeling. She didn't know how to react, her thoughts was a mess. Her head felt light, and she felt dizzy, she didn't know how to consume this information, it refuses to digest. His looks alone annoyed her, it hurts her. That face that was her every day gift that produces happiness in her system was now the face that installs rage in her. How could he do this to her? She loved him with all of her hearts.

" I just need you to forgive me" His ever so sweet and calming voice resounded in her head.

"I will never forgive you!" She yelled aggressively glaring at him fiercely
