The receptionist looked over and saw that there was no problem before explaining,

"What you see on your hand is your identity panel. With an identity panel, you will be able to see your status at any time. As you can see, both of you are still level 1, which means that you are unable to obtain a class yet.

"Once you reach level 10, you may come to the Adventurers Guild again to obtain your class. As for skills, there are two types: innate and acquired.

"Innate skills are skills that are innate within the body of adventurers, so they are quite common among adventurers, but they are the main difference between the strength of adventurers, so be careful of not leaking the function of your skill out.

"As for acquired skills, you are able to see the selection of skills here. Common skills are priced at 5 gold, while rarer skills are more expensive. The other source of acquired skills is through killing monsters and obtaining them through its drops. If you do obtain one, you can sell it to the Adventurers Guild, and we will pay a suitable price for them.

"But, as an inventive to register with us, both of you will be able to one common skill from us for free.

"As a tip, please check your stats to see which skills are best suited for you. For example, those with higher strength can choose skills that utilizes their strength stat better, while those with higher magic can choose skills that utilizes their advantage in mana regeneration and power."

Noah and Alicia carefully listened to the explanation of the receptionist before looking at the thick book in placed in front of them. The book looked quite old with pages that were stained with a yellowish hue that comes with age and binned together with a leather cover that was cool to the touch.

They carefully picked up the book and began to open it.

[Skill Description: Shoot a magic missile at the targeted enemy, dealing 12 damage. Cost 6 mana per use]

Seeing the large selection of skills, Noah and Alicia were blinded by the choices present for a while.

"Dummy, we should just pick simple skills since we don't really know how to fight. Looking at your stats, you should probably pick Sword Slash as your free skill. And I should just pick Magic Missile for mine." Alicia thought for a while before saying.

"Yeah, what you said makes sense. Just keep it simple." Noah nodded.

After saying that, Noah turned to the receptionist and said, "I will pick Sword Slash, while she will pick Magic Missile.

The receptionist nodded before saying, "Then, Mr. Jones, please put your left hand on the Sword Slash page."

The instant Noah placed his left hand on the page, the identity panel on the back of his hand returned back to its sigil form. The sigil then split into two halves from the middle, and in the middle, the name of the skill was formed. After a second, it returned back to its original sigil form.

Alicia did the same thing and received the skill with any problems. Once the name of the skill surfaced on the back of their hands, it meant that the skill had been accepted by the identity panel.

"Now, with the skills out of the way, I will now explain the use of our Adventurers Guild. In the Adventurers Guild, adventurers can accept quests, and in return after doing the accepted quest, the adventurers will be able to obtain monetary compensation for their efforts. As for issuing quests, anyone can do it, as long as the quest content is legal and the person issuing the quest has a documented identity.

"Quests come at varying difficulties, and the arranged from most difficult, S-Rank, to the easiest, F-Rank. Quests can range from searching for monsters, gathering specific drops, to protecting someone. To see what quests are available, please turn the side hall and look at the bulletin board. Once you see a quest you wish to take, you just need to come to the front desk and inform us. 

"Currently, the both of you are F-Rank Adventurers, so you can only accept F-Rank quests.

"Do you have any other questions?"

'Huh, it is simple enough. Adventurers are basically mercenaries with the side option to go into the labyrinth to get money,' Noah thought.

"Thank you very much for your explanation. We don't have anymore questions for now." Alicia thanked the receptionist.

After the two of them were done registering, they walked out of the Adventurers Guild with their hands clasped together.

As this was a new world, everything was so interesting to them. With their new job as adventurers, they were now basically freelance workers with a stable source of income (labyrinth). Although there were some risk, from Mozan's words, it should be manageable with a calm head.

"Dummy, let's go to the labyrinth now. I can't wait!" Alicia said excitedly.

"Wait, let's plan our goal first." Noah squeezed Alicia's hand and said gently.

"So, our goal today is to go the labyrinth and get some money. And we will need to the money to get a room in an inn, some food, and daily necessities. For now, we need to focus on getting enough money to get a room in an inn so we won't be homeless today. So, let's first check out the price of a room in an inn and see how much money we need to earn." Noah suggested after calming the excited Alicia. Although he was also excited to explore the labyrinth, he needed to sort out their priorities first, which was shelter.

"Okay, Dummy. We should do what you said." Alicia smiled.

With a plan in mind, the two of them went back into the Adventurers Guild and asked the receptionist for the direction of a nearby inn. After receiving the directions, the two of them thanked the receptionist again before setting off in the direction the receptionist said.

Along the way, they saw many marketplaces, selling fruits and vegetables they found quite familiar. Although there were a bit hungry right now, they were extremely poor without a single cent to their name, so they could only resist the temptation and quickly away without paying more attention to the food surrounding them.

After walking for about 3 minutes, they came to four-storey building made out of stone. The building looked quite homely and inviting to foreigners. The sign of the building spelled out Maria's Bed and Breakfast. Entering the inn, they were greeted by a scent of oak. Looking around, most of the furniture of the inn were made out of wood, looking very rustic.

After scanning around, they came to the front desk and asked the lady who was seated there, "Um, hello, miss. How much is a night for two people here?"

Hearing the question, the lady quickly stood up and looked at them with a smile on her face, "Hello, my name is Maria. Do you want separate rooms or just one room?"

With a calm expression on his face, Noah answered, "One room please."

Maria looked at the two of them before saying, "A normal room will be 4 silver and 8 bronze, but a room with better soundproofing will be 1 gold. Which room do you wish to take?"

Hearing the question, Noah's eyebrows twitched a little because Alicia was pinching his waist in embarrassment. Noah then said, "We will like to reserve the room with better soundproofing, please. After our time exploring the labyrinth today, we will come back and pay you the room fee, is that okay?"

The lady replied, "No problem. To reserve your room, can one of you please show me your identity panel?"

Noah reached out with his left hand. On the back of his hand, only his name and age showed up. The lady then placed a piece of paper on the back of Noah's name. Once the paper touched his sigil, the mark of the sigil was then imprinted on the paper, forming basically an identity mark.

"Okay, it's done. I hope the both of you will always return safely from the labyrinth," The lady said gently.

After settling their accommodation for the night, the two of them were now ready to explore the labyrinth.

But before that, they needed to check their innate skill first.
