The reaper of anime

William, your average guy that works for an average job dies in an elevator accident. Due to his average life his soul became balanced, he was neither good nor bad and after he dies the Grim Reaper shows up, not to guide him to the next realm but for help! {Beginner writer, and I do not promise a steady update of chapters!} (So a Harem does not really fit the early stages of what I have planned so do not get your hopes up if you want that.) The picture has been shamelessly stolen by me, so if you have any complaints and you have proof that I need to put some effort in removing it then go for it. This novel is dropped.

Chapter Seven.

Today was the day that William and Grim would be leaving this place. The place where we were going is the same as earth only within a different timeline, an alternate universe if you want to call it that. That version of earth hasn't developed far so their technology level is very low, and they are in the age we call the iron age, on Earth that age was from around 1200 BC to 600 BC.

"Are you ready?" Grim asked, William nodded readily and prepared for a teleport. The teleport came right after he was done nodding and they were now standing in a green and dense forest. The teleport was instant and it didn't have any of those nauseating effects, though it did have that black swirl that always came with Grim teleporting.

The forest they were located in was big and it looked free of any human interference, the highest trees were as high as skyscrapers and the grass was as green as emerald. William thought that if not for climate change this could also be seen on earth, maybe not this extreme but it would be better.

"Ten minutes from now a hunter will die of too much blood loss here, be sure to be ready when he does and don't forget to focus on his soul and your scythe, do not mess this up." Grim said with a strict tone whilst pointing to a place where the man will most likely die, William who was already focusing on what to do nodded and positioned himself better so he could act whenever the man died.

The thought about saving this person's life did cross Williams mind but it would be simply impossible since he can physically alter him, he can only guide his soul to the next realm. With his scythe in hand William waited a few meters away from where Grim had pointed.

A few minutes later a man in a green outfit with a bow on his back came stumbling into the area where Grim and William were, the hunter was already half dead so he would most likely die soon. He had wounds all around his chest and arms and was bleeding profusely, there was nothing that could be done by the hunter himself to save him from bleeding out, and if he didn't bleed out the wounds would no doubt be infected and he would be in even more pain. The hunter had to lay down due to the exhaustion he had, because of the wounds moving his body was harder than normal and it required a lot more energy than normal.

It didn't take long for the hunter to take his last breath, this was the sign William was waiting for and stepped forward towards the hunter. William started focusing on the hunters body as to determine the location where most of the soul is located, in this hunters case it was his lungs. It may sound weird, but since the hunter was an "active" person the soul was located there.

William just needed to concentrate perfectly and focus, he removed the scythe from his back and started focusing himself on it. How he focused on the scythe was how it was structured, the blade to the handle and all information Grim had given him about it and when he was comfortable enough that he was focusing he started focusing on the hunter, he located every spot that the soul would be in and ended up with the lungs.

Williams concentration was at an all time high and then he suddenly sliced with inhuman precision down into the where the soul cluster was located in the lung, it was such an accurate and fast movement that no one one planet earth could've possibly have seen that. To Williams' surprise there wasn't any cutting or slashing noise but when he looked closer he could clearly see that the blade of his scythe was phantom like instead of its usual black metal texture and went through the hunters torso, and it felt like it was stuck on something, and that something would most likely be the soul which he came he to reap.

William retracted his scythe to remove it from the hunters body, a phantom like sound was made and the scythe came out of the hunters body, there was no blood on the blade, only a phantom mist which was the goal he came here to reap. As if William knew what to do up tapped his scythe on the ground and a black swirl appeared on the ground, this swirl was of course the same familiar swirl that came with Grim whenever he teleported somewhere only this time the swirl didn't lead to another location to teleport to but the next realm, the realm where the souls go to to be judged.

Grim looked at his student with a bit of pride and relief, pride because his student reaped his first soul successfully without help halfway through from Grim and relief that he wouldn't be needing to teach him anymore. In reality Grim was a bit of a lazy ass, he just wanted to do his job and be done with it but after his powers lessened it became harder for him to do and so he had to work harder, but now with this second reaper here he could rest more, but him being lazy doesn't make him less serious. Grim takes his job as seriously as he can because if he makes one mistake once he could mess up a perfectly balanced system. Grim is starting to sound like the mad titan with his balance talk and all.

"Congratulations on your first reaping student, but remember that this soul couldn't fight back and had a pretty weak mental defense. From now on you can be officially called a Grim Reaper, but not The Grim Reaper of course" Grim said a bit smugly, and ofcourse complementing his student on his first success William nodded knowing that the hunter was probably just a mortal human, and since this planet doesn't have any cultivation or anything supernatural related it was easy and you wouldn't find anyone who William would have trouble with reaping.

"Thank you, and I will certainly be careful whenever I reap souls" William said to reassure Grim, and after William was done talking Grim teleported them back to their place between realities. William was thinking that he also should learn how to teleport in the near future so as to save Grim from teleporting him whenever he needed to reap souls.

When they arrived back at their place William instantly went to his bed to meditate and learn from the experience he had today. Today was the start of a new time for the world since there is a new reaper in town.

So I don't know if I am going to tell the specifics everytime William is going to reap a soul but let me know if you want that.

Also if you see any mistakes or want anything added into the story be sure to comment, and leave a review for me to know what I can do to further better my story.
