[Yo, I picked Inuyasha for the first world as I thought it would be a good place for MC to get familiar with his demon side. As of now, I'm still looking for ideas of things he will do there. I got to rewatch some Inuyasha again because it's been years. Lol. I never watch more that an episode or two of the new one with his daughter. It was just weird and didnt appeal to me.]
Ch.4
Rei tried to reach out and grab Yuma but was unable to as he fell weighlessly down a series of dark tunnels.
The powerful forces of the dark tunnel thrashed him about as he fell. Sometimes he would nearly be sucked through one of the branching paths as he was helpless to control his movement.
It was as if as was being pulled along a raging current, Yuma had long since vanished from his sight which caused him to panic even further.
Shhaaa!
Jei's attention was brought to the snake that is always wrapped around his neck. It appeared Snek was somehow absorbing the torrenting energy around them and was now indicating he can help.
"Ok Snek. Do Something! I'm gonna barf if this keeps up!" Jei implored Snek to do whatever he needed to, to get them out of this mess.
Shhaaa! (Hold on, Master!)
Snek unwrapped himself and then grew in size. Due to absorbing the radiant energy around them his scales took on a deep black color with somewhat of a purple tint.
He grew to his full size and Jei grabbed onto his sepentine body tightly. Snek seemed to be able to navigate this place and could fly effortlessly through this chaotic space.
He turned down one of the branching paths and quickly made his way down before a shadowy portal appeared before them, allowing thier escape from the Dark Corridor.
[A/N: The Dark Corridor is the branch passage of a world. Travel around a world can be accomplished by traversing the branch and opening portals. Once you leave the branch, you end up in the "main road" which is the Dark Terminus, which connects to the darkness of every world. More will be revealed later about this.]
Unbeknownst to Jei, this is a feat even the organization that attacked him could not accomplish. The forces of the Dark Terminus are too strong for them to freely travel outside their branch, they would end up lost since they could not navigate it.
Once the portal had swallowed the two of them up, they found themselves in a new place. One unlike they had ever seen in the small cage like forest they grew up in.
"Where the he- Fuck theres bones here!" Jei found himself in a dark hole, which to his best guess was an old well. He could see the sun peaking through the tree branches above the well. But he couldn't seem to calm his mind because he ended up on a pile of bones belonging to humans and animals.
Snek, who had already shrunk back to a necklace, let out his disapproval of his master's cowardly reaction.
Shaa...
"Hey! Who's scared I'm certainly not!" As if his fear was all an illusion he stood up on the bones and looked up.
"Let's get out of here and then try to find a way home. Hopefully Yuma is someplace safe..." with a single bound he leapt out of the well and landed on the soft forest floor.
Jei wanted to ask Snek about the changes he went through but finding himself in an unfamiliar forest, he had already forgotten about it.
He needed to find people and see where he is. He hoped he was not too far from home, but he was also excited to be somewhere outside.
"Snek, can you sense any people?" He asked knowing his spirit beast could detect life up to 3km in diameter.
Snek bobbed his head to the left, then to the right and then hissed.
Shhaaa, Shaa, Shha (To the east, Master. There seems to be a few humans. There also seems to be another being alone over there.)
"Hm... Okay let's go see the person that's alone... Just in case these people are hostile, we will only have to face one."
Impressed by his master's thinking for once Snek turned to look at him like he was an alien.
Shaa... (Who are you? What did you do with my master?)
Jei cast him an annoyed glance and mumbled. "I'm not stupid... you're stupid..." he then began making his way through the forest until he found the person he was looking for.
"Huh?! What the fuck is that?" An animal eared guy, with flowing white/silver hair was pinned to a tree with an ancient looking arrow and vines wrapped around him. He wore a red pelt robe and appeared to be sleeping.
"Snek, this guy is alive? I wanted you to find a living person, not a dead one." He was going to be annoyed if the person Snek took him to was a corpse.
Shhaa! (Its faint but his life force is still intact. He might have been sealed somehow, Master. That tree is also not ordinary. It has a high amount of spiritual energy!)
"I see... Should we try waking him up?" Jei said before Snek interrupted him.
Shaa! (We have company, Master.)
Snek turned his head and pointed to an old woman who had appeared. She wore a white and red shrine priestess outfit and her right eye was covered in an eye patch.
Jei eyed the old woman who was pointing a drawn bow at him and looking at him wearily. He didn't regard her as a threat nor the handful of men hidden in the trees behind her, also all holding bows aimed at him.
"Who are you? And what are you doing in the Inuyasha forest? Are you a demon?" The old women's voice was raspy and aged but she held the bow in her hand firmly and Jei could tell she was good with it.
The men behind the woman looked on edge, like Jei was a possible enemy they may have to kill.
"Old woman, before asking who I am, shouldn't you introduce yourself first." Jei looked the woman in the eye and stood his ground with confidence. He didn't need to have his guard up for weaklings like them.
The old woman, being quite experienced, could sense she, and the villagers, were not this young man's opponents. She sighed and lowered her bow, causing the men behind her to wonder why she deflated so easily.
"I'm Kaede. The high priestess of the nearby village, young man. It is forbidden for outsiders to roam this forest. Have you come with Ill intent?"
Jei looked at the old lady and decided to play nice for the time being.
"Old Lady Kaede. You can just call me Jei. As for why I'm here... I don't know. I found myself in an old well nearby. And as for being a demon... I am part demon, I guess?"
When he said that, the villagers behind Kaede became frightened and one shot an arrow out of fear at Jei. This caused the others to stop hesitating and shoot as well, despite Kaede not telling them.
"No! You fools!" Kaede screamed, but the arrows were already loose, heading toward Jei.
With a few swift flicks Jei's wrists, the incoming arrows that would have hit him and the dog boy behind him, were easily deflected.
"Seriously?" Jei looked at them like they were stupid for even trying, while the villagers and Kaede were shocked by how easily he deflected thier arrows, and with such speedy movements. He was certainly not an ordinary young man!
