You Wouldn't Dare

He grunted, "you were defenseless, so I had to transform to protect you, I was hoping the effects would wear off by the time you woke up, but no such luck."

Angel stared at his stubby, wrinkly nose "no kidding," she whispered.

He looked away "anyways, I just picked you up and flew away, they chased for a bit and I was worried they were gonna keep following but then they just turned around."

"Hm, that's kinda creepy," Angel said. A dull ache in her shoulder made her groan, "could we please land somewhere?"

Finn looked around, underneath them was an expanse of grass and muddy water.

Angel followed his gaze with her own, "where even are we?"

Finn tilted his head "I actually have no idea, but my wings hurt, so we probably should land before I drop you."

Angel fake gasped, "you wouldn't dare".

Finn grinned, putting his sharp teeth on full display."Oh, I would".

Angel shook her head, smirking "Nah," she said, "you wouldn't."

Finn laughed "okay then," he suddenly let go of her

Angel didn't have time to scream, she was falling, the air whipped around her in bursts, she was gasping, crying out, when two warm arms grabbed her firmly.

"you really thought I'd let you fall?" he whispered in her ear.

Angel couldn't answer, she had lost her voice from fright.

He set her down in the grass, the grass she had seen below them before, then he gently tucked some of her hair behind her ear.

"Are you okay?" he leaned in close to look at her, Angel was too afraid to move, to break the tension that was starting to build.

He got closer, his breath on her face now "Angel?" he said.

She glanced down at his lips for only a second, but he saw.

She lifted her head up more to look him in the eyes, they got closer and closer, Angel was desperate to feel his lips against hers, but why? She kept questioning her motives and reasons for the urges she had around him but came up with no answer.

His nose bumped hers, then he looked sad "we should probably get going," he whispered.

The moment dissipated, leaving Angel feeling empty and slightly disappointed.
