"I saw him, my Lord!" Davion exclaimed when he saw Lord Daligarth's stoic, unreactive face. "He killed the Essence Guards. All of them! Including the spy we sent. He's a mad murderer, him!"

Daligarth still remained quiet, although his eyebrows had lowered and narrowed his eyes, showing some kind of unceremonious reaction to Davion's story.

"Ask Clara and Myra! They were there too!" He turned to the girls beside him. "You both saw Spheris, right? It was why we ran."

Myra frowned disdainfully at him. "Ran? You said that we should attack. The smartest move was to retreat and report what we saw to Lord Daligarth, but you carried on. It's because of you that all those guards are dead."

"Shut your mouth, you dumb Low Rank. How dare you speak to me that way?" Davion snapped at her.
