Born of the wastelands, Spheris Arnadel, a young skilled thief, finds himself subject to a twist of fate when he steals a powerful relic and becomes a Bearer — humans gifted with powers from the Gods. As a punishment for his theft, he is cast into an otherworldly realm alongside other Bearers, where he faces off against monstrous beasts and powerful enemies. Yet, in his determination to return to the Continent and save his dying mother, Spheris is hell-bent on surviving the abyssal world. Even if it means giving his body to the Dark God whose powers he had stolen... even if it means losing all of his humanity.
Deserting himself from the rest of the Continent was the only way he could focus and coordinate this plan of his.
The starting point was to find a Portalist or a Traveler Mage. The only Traveler Mage he knew was Merisset Elicyerus and he certainly could not trust the devious woman with something like that.
However, employing the services of a Portalist would be easier, even though the threat of them selling out information of his whereabouts later was a little worrying. Still, it wasn't like Spheris particularly cared.
Let them come, he half-thought.
He was in the Gandlum lands in northside Riverna of the Third Wing, not too far from the royal bastion where Cerene lived.
Anyhow, the Gandlum lands were not inhabited by any natives yet. It was a part of the Continent such as many others that civilization hadn't struck yet.
