"My combat training was to fight other Bearers, was it not?" Spheris challenged. "Don't you think battling a beast completely counteracts all of that?"

"I think I know what I'm doing," Perichan replied vaguely. "Besides, you don't intend to cease slaying beasts completely, do you?"

Thinking shortly, Spheris replied, "I don't."

"Great, so there can not be a problem then. You can take the Soul Fragment and harness it for your Crafting, and I can take some of its scales and its eyes for trade."

A suspicious frown appeared on the Avatar's face. "Is that your only reason for this?"

"Well... no. I'm also curious to see how you perform. You slayed a Devourer and a Bloodlusted Gorgolith, I want to be here when you add a Moltenviper to your collection."

Perichan then made himself comfortable on the grass. "Now, chop chop. Show me what you are made of."
