18. On the suspicious radar

"They didn't come today, why? Are you looking for them?"

"Why else would I ask that..." Vivian replied Jaxon with an 'obviously' kind of tone. Victor stared at them, not knowing what to say so he decided to just stand there and listen.

"They don't come here often so it's rare to see them."

"Because they're one of a kind."

"Yea, they are..." Jaxon mumbled out a reply, looking down at the counter with his hands clenched a little as he glanced at the door that led to the upstairs into his house and probably many more things.

"But why do you want to see them for?"

"Oh, I just wanted to maybe return this." Vivian raised her fingers and showed Jaxon the ring that the couple gave her before. Victor stared over at her fingers and there was indeed a ring on her finger like she said.

Victor eyed at the ring, straining his eyes, trying to get a closer look at the ring's design. 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎... 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒎𝒔 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏, he knew that he hadn't seen those types of rings before anywhere in any shops.

"Why? They gave it to you cause they think your worthy of having that ring..."

"Worthy?" Vivian repeated what Jaxon said with confusion. She didn't know what did he meant by that she was worthy of having the ring when she had done nothing plus she didn't know them in the first place.

Even Victor stared at Jaxon, scrunching his eyebrows at him. He didn't know what on earth they were talking about and he had no idea what's going on, other than, them talking about the ring that a couple gave Vivian. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒉𝒖𝒉...

"Just keep it, it may come useful at some point..."

"Useful? Right, I hope it would do some good use." Vivian chuckled slightly as she stared at the ring, admiring the ring like she always does.

"So are we good to go now? It's getting late." Victor asked, making Vivian stare at him then back to the wall clock and back at him again.

"It's still early though."

"It's better to be back at the dorm early than late. No ones allowed to stay out of school past 10pm."

"I know I know but now it's only just 6.06pm~" Vivian whined, not wanting to go back to the dorm this early as she had nothing better to do there.

Jaxon stood by the counter, still frozen in place as the puppy was snuggling around his legs. He listens to all their blabberings but he also somehow felt a little wary of Victor.

"Be good, Gavin wouldn't like a naughty girl..."

"Says the one who sounds like a creep right now..." Vivian ran over behind Jaxon and hid behind him, peeking over his shoulders like Victor was about to abduct her away. 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒍, 𝒎𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒘𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆...

"I'll give you candy when we're back in school, how about that?" Victor offered, hoping that Vivian would accept so that they can get going back to school. He doesn't know why but he just wants to get out of the pet shop quickly.

𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅𝒏'𝒕 𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑 𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒂𝒅 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑱𝒂𝒙𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒎𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚? Victor sighed while waiting for her answer. Vivian crossed her arms and thought for a while, tapping her feet on the ground while doing so.

"You can ask Gavin for more, maybe he'll buy you some. Hmm?"

"Really? A milkshake too?" Vivian's eyes sparkled when sweets were in the conversation, she would take up any offer that has sweets given to her, depending on what the situation is.

"Yep~"

"Okay, let's get going!" Vivian happily stopped hiding behind Jaxon and was going to walk over back to Victor when Jaxon grabbed her wrist. She turned her head back and tilted her head at Jaxon.

"Yes?"

"Oh...um, stay safe, and please do come again~" Jaxon lightly smiled as he let go of her hands. Vivian headed over to Victor and smiled happily at him about her free sweets and milkshake.

"Well, we'll get going first! See you around Jaxon, I'll be back~" Vivian waved at Jaxon who just smiled at her.

"Come on puppy, we need to go now, stop bothering Jaxon already haha~" Vivian signaled for the puppy to come over to her which it did as Victor stared at her weirdly with a hint of confusion as to what she was talking to. 𝑰𝒔 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒎 𝒊 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆?

Vivian headed for the door to leave along with Victor following behind her. When they left the pet shop, Victor took one last glance at Jaxon and he was also looking at Victor.

This time with seriousness in his face, Victor took a second to stare at him when suddenly he noticed that Jaxon's eyes were odd...

𝑻𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒆𝒚𝒆𝒔... Victor blinked and everything was normal, what he saw seemed like an image of his own yet it felt so real to him, 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒆𝒚𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆? 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕... Victor thought for a while before turning around and left.

𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈'𝒔 𝒐𝒇𝒇...𝒎𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒆 𝒊𝒕'𝒔 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒆....Victor shook off the feeling as he headed back to the dorm with Vivian, happily skipping beside him while humming. The puppy followed alongside them as they made their way back to the school.

While heading back, Victor couldn't help but feel a little uneasy with what he saw back then. 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒚 𝒃𝒆....𝒏𝒐. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒘...

"Hey cabbage, are you listening?" Victor snapped back to reality when Vivian whacked him on the arms.

"Ow! What was that for?!"

"You're dreaming away when your walking, you would've hit that pole sooner or later." Vivian pointed at the pole right in front of him that was just some cm away from his face.

"Oh...thanks then."

"What were you thinking about? Your girl? Your wife?" Vivian questioned as she cheekily smiled at the end of her sentence, freaking Victor out.

"I'm not married yet and I don't have a girlfriend thank you."

"No wonder, that's why you're such a lonely cabbage..."

"Say what?"

"Yea, with looks like your that's similar to a cabbage, I think people would rather buy an actual cabbage than date you." Vivian joked as she started laughing on her own.

"Why's that? How is an actual cabbage better than me anyway?"

"Well, first a cabbage can be eaten, second it's delicious, and third, it tastes good." Vivian stared out her points, using her fingers, and smiled at Victor, who had his mouth gaped open slightly.

"How's that any reason to compare me with cabbages?"

"Well, unless..." Vivian leaned in nearer to Victor and cupped his cheeks with her hand, pulling his face closer to hers.

"Unless you can show me how you would be as delicious as an actual cabbage then why not~" Vivian smiled innocently at Victor, staring at him with her glimmering eyes.

Victor was taken aback by her sudden action but soon smirked a little, grabbing her hand and pulled it away from his face.

"Then would you want me to show you?" He whispered huskily, staring into her eyes intensely, like a hungry wolf that is ready to devour its prey. Vivian didn't shake one bit and chuckled instead.

"Oh dear, we aren't in a circus, sadly." She said before stepping away from him, making him release her hand.

"Are you calling me a clown now?"

"Do you need me to Gavin to tell you that?" Vivian laughed out loud, sticking her tongue out at Victor before she started running away from him, leaving the puppy to stare at Victor.

"Hey!" He yelled out, grabbing the attention of the by-passers, that stared at them as they ran past. He chased her down the pathway, since she had a head start, she was more ahead of him.

The puppy just stared at them from a distance and started running after them at fast speed of lighting. It slowed down soon after and teleported away magically back to Vivian's dorm instead.

𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒍𝒚 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒑 𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅, 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒓𝒖𝒏...the puppy went over to the couch, jumping on it, and rested there.

𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒂𝒔𝒕...𝑰 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒖𝒑 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒚 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒖𝒕... Victor thought since he was a little slower than Vivian, even though he was a werewolf.

𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒃𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒆? he wondered and soon they reacher the school gates. She stopped running and teleported away somewhere, he stood in his spot for a while before teleporting to where she could have gone.

Vivian teleported into Gavin's office and subsequently, Victor appeared by the door. Gavin wasn't in his office somehow, which gave the two more freedom to run around without him yelling at them.

"You wanna play catch? Oh, I'll play with you." Victor said out and started chasing Vivian around Gavin's office with no care.

"Aren't you tired?!" She asked out loud as she ran around the couch with him opposite of her.

"I'm never tired of you~"

"Ew." She quickly replied, taking a pillow that was on the couch and threw it at him, hitting him straight in the face.

"You..." Victor grabbed the pillow and jumped over the couch like it was nothing and used the pillow, hitting Vivian on her legs before she could runoff.

She fell over, onto the floor from the pillow impact and landed with her stomach flat on the floor. He stood there staring at her in victory but it didn't last long when she used her legs, intertwining with his, and pulled him down. Victor fell to the floor flat on his back as he groaned and Vivian was now sitting on him.

"Weak~"

"What's going on in here?!" A thunderous voice rumbled across the office, Victor sat up and the two stared in the direction of the voice. It turns out Gavin had just probably entered the room.

"Haha...hi?" Victor nervously said as Gavin made his way over to them and carried Vivian up and away from Victor. He held her in the air as she stared at him with a gentle smile.

"Hey, Gavin~!" She reached out her arms, trying to hug Gavin but he held her in the air by her under shoulders. Victor awkwardly stood up from the floor and looked away from him, like he did nothing wrong.

"What were you two doing?"

𝑾𝑰𝑻𝑯 𝑱𝑨𝑿𝑶𝑵 ————————————

Jaxon did one last check around the shop, making sure that it's clear of people before returning to the counter after flipping the plate from open to close on the door.

"He's gone now...and the shops closed," Jaxon spoke up and two people walked out of the door that he stared at before. They sighed as they floated above the ground freely.

"What do you think of him, Jax?"

"He's on my suspicious radar list but I can't confirm anything yet, after all...he is a werewolf and does seem nice."

"He might just be putting up a kind front, so beware of that. Not all people are trustable..." the lady lowly said, Jaxon understand what she meant by that after all...he did witness everything that happened and survived...

"I think it's best to keep an eye on them...the ring should be fine to protect her and the puppy too but...out of everything, why a puppy," Jaxon replied and asked as he stared dully at them, making them chuckle at him.

"Well, she likes puppy's and I think it'll make a great companion for her, don't tell me you're still scared of them? You should be fine since you actually like them don't you?"

"I'm not scared, I'm just worried. What if they find her suspicious and try to kill her?" Jaxon pointed out, feeling a heavy pressure in his heart.

"Then...we'll have to take action..."
