Chapter Eight

When we landed at the Las Angeles airport, I saw everyone was looking at my car. It was just waiting to be let loose on these American streets. The black car looked evil sitting in the sun and it was even near the supercar. We got into the car and headed to the office building to find Jared.

I hit a button and the roof of the car came down and we looked around at all the sights. My car stood out a bit so I noticed a lot of glares and smiles. We were heading right for the Office parking lot when the office girls saw Zahara in the seat next to me. They charged the car, they glared at me and Bradley but they welcomed Zahara. I stood there and saw they didn't care that I was here, Zahara saw them disrespect me and Bradley. She slapped them over the head.

"Don't ever disrespect my husband or his Brother ever, you girls understand me!?" She yelled as I smiled when I told her, "Zahara, calm down, they didn't mean anything by it." The girls looked at me then at Zahara, they thought I was going to get yelled at too. That was She smiled at me and then walked past me gently punching my arm. "Shut up, they were being mean to you, dear." I laughed, then walked with her into the building.

All you heard was everyone freaking out about "The Boss is here!" Everyone was running around and making a mess. I was getting irritated by this and so was Zahara. I went up to one of the girls and grabbed them. "Everyone calm the fuck down already, all of you are acting like children. Who cares if we are here, Just do your jobs. " The girl I had was scared I yelled and was about to cry.

"I'm sorry dear, we just need to calm the girls, oh and can you get me a File On Jared Hellal. We need to find him so I can find his family. " I said to the girl directly and she ran to get it, Zahara was smiling a bit behind me. "You are meaner than me when you want something done." I looked at her confused, "when have I ever been mean?" Zahara laughed a bit.

We were given a spot to chill out till the girl came back, I started to smoke my cigar finally, when some of the girls glared at me for lighting a match. "Go ahead sweet, you've been waiting for hours to smoke one," Zahara said to me as I was already smoking the cigar. You could smell how sweet the cigar was from the front door of the building. I saw the little lady with the file of Jared in her hands. She gave them to me and I read the details, I found where he lived and was heading out the door when I ran into him.

He was coming to get his paycheck and he saw me smiling in front of him. He looked at me and then saw Zahara right behind me glaring at him. He was confused about why I was there or why we could just walk into a private building. He then looked at his fellow employees, they were mostly female or looked strange from normal people. He had not noticed this before now, "Young man, seem you work for me and what we see you're doing is a very good job." Zahara said from behind me, I felt her put her hand on my shoulder.

I took a long drag of my cigar, then blew it up in the air. "We wanted to find you and ask you questions about the family. Like where they might be? Or who they are? " I said to my cousin as he looked at me with some concerns, We or I did not come here to start anything with my family. Or at least that's what I was hoping for with my smile. Jared looked at us then he smiled, his smile was very similar to mine. "They are all over the world fighting evil in secret, I work here to keep an eye on who rules all of these creatures."

I looked at my wife and she looked pissed by what he said, "Jared would you leave us alone if I told you a secret? " I asked him as he was curious by my proposal. "Sure little cousin, what is your big secret?" He said back to me when I had started to cast a spell I learned from a witch in the city.

(I learned this spell to show people my memories and things I've seen from my past as a projection, like a movie.)

The area went dark and only Jared and I were in the bubble of my memories. "Only you and I can see these, these are my memories of my truth and past. " Jared saw all my memories of the last few years and saw most of them were dark times. Then he saw my fun moments hanging around the monsters and Zahara.

"Jared these are the truths I wanted to see, This is was I learned in my year and half of living with monsters." I had the truth of the real human history unfold before his eyes like the best fantasy movie ever. A voice not of my own started to tell the old story with me standing next to Jared.

"Oh, this story is as old as time, so let's get into this. We start with when time started for our monsters and Humans. We all lived together in our own tribes and mingled when we needed to, Gods and demons became into power to control everything. Everyone split into their own Kingdoms much like the old human medieval world. Such as old England and Spain, and the Vikings. The humans began to become much larger as a person and started new religions. As they grew in their belief they started to hunt Monster kind for no reason, but being unholy to their gods.

" The video, like memories played with every evil human act ever played until they came to the current time. "Monster kind had been dwindled down to almost nothing, With only a few monster hunters killing the innocent monsters. Though there are two humans out there that have become what they feared and shown love to monster kind. " Jared looked at me because the video was of Bradley and me defending monsters from monster hunters.

The memories started to play with all I went through and Jared watched it all as fast as we could. All you saw was a tear in his eyes. "Cousin, these new things I've learned are going to be hard to accept, but I see what history says about humankind. Yes, we are evil creatures, but not all of us are like that when it comes to fighting monsters."

Jared pushed and I spoke up a bit, "yes, true, but humans are or have been the ones starting wars for the most." Jared agreed with my statement and we appeared in the regular world next to everyone around us. "I will remain working for you Zahara, but I won't do anything to disrupt the goings of this business." Zahara looked at me and I smiled at her then Jared smiled at us as he left for his shift.

The day was normal for a while and we had nothing to do, So we went to the big office up on the top floor. It was full of dirt and smelled musty, I used my wind magic and blew all of the dust away and cast a pine-like scent into the air. It smelled and looked like new and Zahara sat in the chair looking at me. I looked at her and saw she was wondering what was to come next for us, all I knew was that I had to be all I could be for her.

I am the Queens Human and her helping hand when she needed me nothing more.
