POV: Patricia Mooncall, the Alpha's second mate.
All I remember was hugging my mates. Then the lights went off and I lost consciousness. I woke up in a very bright place. So bright in fact, that I can't see anything. I can feel my body, I know I'm walking but I don't know where I'm going. I'm getting scared, scared that I'll be stuck here forever...
POV: Alpha of pack Mooncall, Robert Mooncall.
"Why isn't she waking up Claire?"
"Im not sure... this is unusual."
"What do you mean unusual?"
"Well when those in our tribe awaken, they always stay unconscious...but Patricia. Just look, her brain waves are variating too much. Just like she's talking to someone. Her legs are even twitching. It's like her soul is somewhere else entirely."
"I must contact the council now, Maybe they will have answers. I've already waited too long. After the moon goddess spoke to me, I should of reported it right away. They are going to be furious."
"They will be upset yes, but your powers are too important for them to lose."
"That is true, I've been called to help in all large scale invasions from the darklands since I awakened at 17. They can't afford to discipline me too harshly. Enough of this, I'm calling them now."
Once you awaken or earn a high status is the pack you learn of the council. They are the elderwolves from many packs. They have powers beyond belief. They only come out of their den if there is a great war or to welcome a new elder. They monitor our lands and help protect our world from the creatures of the dark.
The darklands are a mirror world, an alternate dimension you could say. For as much love, powers, life, and light the spirts have granted us. They have the opposite. They are ruled by one king they fear, born from bloodshed, they have the ability to take your soul power as their own, and have powers that grow stronger in the night. They are a shapeless fog, their screams rupture your ears, Their breath burns like acid. But the worst part, they can have any power they want, as many as they want. They only need to drain enough wolf's to achieve the impossible. Therefore, only those that have awakened can fight them. They somehow arrive in our world at night. We have no way to stop them from coming. We can only track them and hope that we can send warriors to defeat them, before they take our kin and grow stronger.
I call the council and spill out everthing. At first they thought I was mad, but with time they started to believe. My grandfather is part of the council. He spoke for me. Finally, I tell them why I've called after they lecture me enough. Suddenly silence..
"Hello, are you still their council?"
"Ahem, yes. I must see this myself. I am coming. Prepare for war my child. I fear the dark will become powerful soon, if Alpha Robert speaks the truth. We are in grave danger. Goodbye Alpha Robert Mooncall, may the goddess watch over our kin."
Click. The line cuts out.
"Holy shit, Even the grand council elder is scared. The leader of the Council had decided to lead them all here. Prepare our pack for war Claire and hurry."
"My Alpha the clan needs a new Beta."
"Have Raven come to me, she will fill in for Patricia until she awakens."
"Yes my mate."
She hurried out of our home. I let out a long sigh and look at my beautiful second mate. I tuck a stray stand of hair behind her ear and kiss her forehead. I leave the house too. I must prepare my clan for war.
