Chapter Four: The Edge Of Nothing

Gabriel and Kara held onto Penelope who seemed all too happy to see some friendly faces. Gabriel sniffed the air and then got up and walked away. " Wait..where are you going? " Kara asked right as she herself got a whiff of the most foulest of smells. " Oh...Oh god...oh..oh " Kara begins gagging at the smell as Gabriel exits the room. " So we put diapers on babies or rags? " Gabriel called out to Kara who looked back to the room he walked off to with confusion.

" Diapers" She gagged again " Why would you put rags on a baby? " the smell was atrocious and she was not at all prepared for how bad it was going to be. Gabriel returned and placed the diapers down. " Okay well..get to it? " Gabriel motioned towards the diapers as Kara looked at him and then the diapers and then back at him. " What do you mean get to it? I don't know how how change diapers? " Kara admitted. She remembered taking a class on this a few years ago but she had not retained any of the information whatsoever.

" Well I don't know how to do it. And you are the one who volunteered us sooooo" Gabriel had no intention of changing diapers. His sense of smell was way stronger than Kara's and this was pure hell for him.

" No..no no no. You are not going to leave me by myself to change the diapers. You are going to help me so we can figure this out together" Kara growled. Gabriel stared deeply into her eyes before finally repenting. " Fine " he growled back as they made their way to the bedroom where they assumed there would be a baby changing station or something similar.

Meanwhile, Nate had went out hunting, he and Gwen decided it would be best to scope out the area he wished to travel to even see if it would be worth hunting. This would be at the dead center of the Underworld where once, woodlands and giant mountain peaks once stood. But upon arriving, Nate saw a very different scenery. A gigantic crator. It must have been caused by the sky fall but he this was massive. " Jeez..could the sky fall have even done this? "

The crator had to be at least for to 5 miles wide. Which was extremely massive in comparison to the other crators that had been made by the skyfall. Nate slide down the creator to get a better look at the destruction and found that the ground was still warm. " Well there goes my hunting idea " Nate sighed as he looked around, taking notice of something in the distance. It seemed to have a glow of sorts and so Nate approached it slowly. He wasn't sure what it was but he was going to be extremely cautious.

As he approached the glowing object, he realized that what he was looking at, seemed to be some sort of giant almost almond shaped symbol. It was an eye, and it was red. Completely red. It definitely radiated a strange energy that was definitely not vampiric or Witch in nature. No, this was something else. Something far older and something far more powerful.

" Hm" Nated hummed as he leaned down and gently touched the symbol which didn't seem to react at all. " Well that has got to be a good sign " Nate smiled as he backed away from the symbol. It looked very strange and it was a symbol he had never seen before. He would of course return home to tell Gwen all about it. He was going to be able to hunt here anyway and so there was not much he could do otherwise. Nate shifted and left the symbol behind as he made his way back home to Gwen.

Once he had returned home, he found Gwen waiting up for him. It was completely dark outside now and she wanted to make sure he had gotten home safely. " So Hunting isn't going to be happening anytime soon. The entire center of the world is a crator " Nate explains as he closes the door behind him and heads over to Gwen, kissing her on the cheek and taking a seat beside her as she layed back into his arms.

" That isn't good...I mean I guess you can keep hunting like you've been doing and we will manage. But the skyfall stuff makes sense that most of the land would have been destroyed" She knew it would be too good to be true that their would be a chance for bigger food but they would be fine with what they had.

" We have got this " Gwen assures Nate who seems slightly bothering by what he had seen.

" Well there was also an eye symbol at the bottom of the crator. It was all red and whatnot. It doesn't seem normal but it's there and I figured I should let you know about it" he explains. Gwen thought about the symbol but she had never heard of a symbol like that and she wasn't sure what it could be. She was glad that Nate was safe and she wanted them both to stay as far away from it as possible. It didn't seem like something that they should be messing with. If it needed to be solved or something then let Kara and Gabriel do it. They were the world's hero's and destined by fate. They could sort this kind of stuff out and that meant that Gwen and Nate could just relax.

" Well let's not deal with it. Let's just focus on you and me " Gwen turns to him. " And our beautiful child who is going to be amazing just like their dad " Gwen leans up and kisses Nate who smiles. " And perfect like their mom" he kisses her back.

Having Gwen with him, and their child who was on their way, was all Nate needed to be happy. He loved them both so much and wanted to keep them safe. He loved that Gwen tried to keep them away from getting involved in things that could be a bigger issue later on. It wasn't their job to deal with such things. They were happy with their simple life. A life that they had both always wanted from the beginning.
