Chapter Fifteen: Chasing

Kara thought deeply about Margerat's words. She tried to argue in her mind that she loved Gabriel. She knew she did. She no longer doubted that and yet everyone seemed to think otherwise. Her and Gwen were done. She moved on with Nate and had her own Kingdom now. She had her own life and Kara had Gabriel. She was more than happy with him. He was everything she could have ever wanted. But what if what Margerat said was true? Being together was actually bad for the world? That wouldn't make sense when faced with their fate and the prophecy. Nothing made any sense. And whilst she wanted to go to Gabriel and apologize. Something kept her from leaving Margerat's room.

" I don't know" Kara finally mumbled. " I just know I'm sorry for what you have been through. I'll find a way to make this up to you. Regardless of how the damage was caused, I will find a way to restore the earth. I promise you that " Kara tried to assure Margerat.

Whilst Margerat had missed Kara, she was frustrated. She wanted her home back. She wanted to help Kara but she knew this was something she had to figure out on her own. Kara was still growing and she had to learn how to make decisions on her own. Especially the emotional ones, despite how much damage that caused..Kara had to grow. And Margerat knew that wouldn't happen by giving Kara all the answers.

Kara stood up, and looked to Margaret one last time " I will keep my promise. You'll get your home back " Kara sighed as she left her guardians room and closed the door behind her.

Kara made her way back to her room when she noticed something. A girl, with blonde hair. Something about her, though she couldn't see her face, caught Kara's interest. Kara walked over over the girl who proceeded to scurry away across the room and out the front door of the building. " What.." Kara said to herself as she chased after the girl.

Down the street she ran, hard and fast to catch up with the mysterious girl who was always just out of reach from her. She wasn't sure who the girl was, but she knew she had to find out. There was something strange about the feeling Kara was having when she looked upon the girl.

Eventually the girl, turned a corner, and Kara swerved around the corner and found the girl entering what looked to be a house of some sort. Kara only assumed it was a house considering it looked like one but everything had been recoverted in this city so it could realistically be anything.

Kara ran up to the door and pushed it open and saw nothing but a dark room. " Hello.." Kara called out. This house had definitely been converted. There were guns and and weapons aligning the walls, so Kara assumed this must have been an armory.

" I was just looking for a blonde girl that came here" Kara called out again but was receiving no response. Something felt off about this room. Kara felt like she wasn't as alone as the silence would try to convince. The silence was only broken as the door that Kara had originally entered through began to open and Kara was greeted by a girl, who had firey hair. " Kara? " the girl called out.

" Yes? " Kara answered as she backed away, letting the girl enter the room. " I saw you running and I thought you were in trouble so I came to check on you? " The girl smiled. " I'm Cassie by the way, I saw you and Gabriel enter the town earlier" Cassie extended her hand out to greet Kara who didn't shake her hand.

" How do you know our names? " Kara wasn't sure she could trust this girl. " Oh. I'm a Lycan, that is a long story. I left the Underworld after our people were killed and came here" Cassie explained which didn't make Kara drop her guard.

" Hm. Well, yeah. I was chasing someone but I guess they aren't here..so I will leave " Kara pushes her way past Cassie, not wanting to continue the conversation, but Cassie had other plans.

" Why are you lying to him? " Cassie asked which stopped Kara dead in her tracks. " Excuse me? " Kara asked, not even turning back to Cassie.

" He took you as a mate. And you didn't even really truly want it. You do realize how bad that js? Lycans only take on one single mate..and that means that when you realize you don't want him..he will forever be alone" Cassie answered, she said nothing out of arrogance. She spoke true to her belief. Kara on the other hand, had no patience left.

" Oh great. Another fucking person wanting Gabriel.." Kara turns around to face Cassie. " I am getting really tired of you people. Me and Gabriel's are mates. And that is something you and whatever is left of your kind, will have to accept " Kara had stopped caring anymore. She was not going to let another person give their input on her and Gabriel's relationship. " And if you have a problem with that, then come at me. See how it works out for you " Cassie stares Kara down, and then walks over to Kara, so that they are face to face with only inches separating them.

" You don't care about him. Not truly. And it doesn't matter whether it's now or later, the truth will come out" Cassie growled. " And since you offered" Cassie added before ramming her fist hard into Kara's face. Knocking Kara to the ground and leaving her unconscious. Cassie kneels down by Kara's body and grabs Kara by the head and lifts her head up a little. " For a Queen..you can't take a hit at all. The truth will come out whether you like it or not. And when it does, you are gonna have to live with it" Cassie rams Kara's face into the floor before standing back up and walking over Kara's body and closing the door behind her.
