When we got to the castle the garage was empty for our luck, so as soon as we parked we got out and Roman led us into the guard corridor and we were taken by surprise with such commotion coming from there, there were several guards and division heads going up and down the corridor and in Scott's room too which made me realize that maybe I created a big mess in the palace after the interview ended.

Such a good thing to do.

I noticed that the guard seemed even more agitated when I saw the copy of the Waybrook Gazette wandering between the soldiers' hands as they commented on what I had said earlier.

And as I passed among the boys I heard several positive comments and a few sighs of sadness that I was compromised and it’s me chuckle a little. Roman beside me just guided me as silently as possible through the crowd with his hands in the small of my back.

When we turned in another hallway praying that anyone would see us, one of the guards who was talking to another one I realized was Nolan turned towards us and started yelling for the general and I swallowed hard thinking that me and the brunette next to me were so fucked up.

I turn to Roman seeing that he was tensed and I touched his forearm lightly and when I looked at him he looked at me and smiled minimally with panic in his eyes and squeezed my back to try to reassure me but behind us I heard a loud scream that made my spine shiver and I start to curse in my mind.

We are so fucked up, holy shit.

“WILLIAMS!" I heard the voice and when we turned around I saw one of the division heads coming from down the hall and when I look to my guard I see him muttering something in the language he was always mumbling and sighed deeply as he watched his boss come to him "where have you been and why is the princess with you?" He asked sharply, his brown eyes simmering and when I looked at Roman he looked reassured but the small frown in his brows told me otherwise.

He’s freaking the fucking out like me but before it turned into a war zone, I decided to step in with some excuse.

“Mister Carter,” I said reading his nameplate as I clasped my hands behind my back and lifted my chin to look at him with assurance and I smiled seeing his hard face softening a little, Ithen crossed my hands in front of me and tilted my head back cause after all I was extremely short and even with heels everyone there was very tall, including Roman, who I barely reached his shoulders “I'm sorry for the inconvenience but I just asked him to take me to town to eat something different and I ended up losing track of the time, don't penalize him for that if it was my fault for our delay, don't you agree with me?” I say and watch everyone around looking at us and hearing my voice Scott came out of his room in the end of the corridor with a frown but when he saw me he smiled and looked at me as he walked towards us.

“Kesley, listen to the girl, Williams is a good soldier and is taking good care of her safety, give him a break, Lil boots,” Ronny said as he hugged Carter from behind and I saw him relax and look at Roman more calmly and I chuckled with the choice of pet name.

“Big guy you almost made us have a heart attack, the king was about to throw us into the Harald River and rip your skin off," Kesley said and all the guys present and the other bosses started laughing just like me.

When I looked up at Roman he had a genuine smile on his face and his dimples were sticking out which made me smile even more. He's piercing green eyes glowing when he looks at me and squeezes my back again.

“Miss Taylor, I think you'd better disappear while there's time before the news gets upstairs and your dad picks you up for dinner with your fiancé,” I heard Scott say breaking your bubble and I froze quickly at these words.

So he was already here.

“Thanks for the tip Ronny,” I say and smiled weakly and say goodbye to everyone with a curt wave before picking up Roman’s shirt and pulling him with me towards the kitchen.

He then stops me and looks at me with a confused expression in his face, I then observe the place we came from and watch the cameras and seeing that everything is just right, I guide us to the wall we always use and activate the mechanism ready to go in but he stops me again and I looked at him in a confused way.

“I need to change into my uniform if I'm going to be upstairs with you,” he says with a shy tone and I agree while I close the passage and escort him to the locker room we met earlier today.

We walked in and I closed the door after checking that there was no one else there with us, and when I turned around I noticed he was already shirtless and I stopped to watch the muscles in his back twitch beneath the tattoos as he searched for the thermal uniform blouse in his locker with quietness.

I watched as he put on his blouse and ran his hands through his hair to straighten the curls into place and started to unbutton his pants and in that moment I decided for the sake of my sanity to turn around and look at the walls but his voice broke the silence making me shiver.

“I see you staring miss, I had a mirror on my locker,” He said with his raspy voice tickling my ears and I felt something shift in between my legs and heard him giggling behind me.

He definitely will be my fucking wreck.

“You didn’t see anything, shut up and make yourself done so we can go away!” I said a little bit nervous with exasperation in my voice while he continued to laugh and make fun of my behavior.

He soon finished and asked me politely to wait for him outside and I go and lean against the wall as I look down the empty hallway and think that in a few hours I will meet my future husband but something inside me told me I was looking in the wrong direction and when the locker room door opened and the brunette appeared with a simple smile in his pink plump lips I definitely realized that I was walking into an abyss of no return and that I would probably regret it forever.

“You are ready, Eve?” He asks me while looking at me with a worried expression and I think it’s because of the fear in my face but I just smile at him and nod.

He looks at me one last time not buying my exchange but we just drop the subject and I enlace my arm with his and guide my guard in the direction of the secret passage.

We get where we want to and I run my hands along the walls until I find the right one and when I check the corridor I don't see any camera or any person so I activate the mechanism and push us inside, closing the door behind me and concentrating on accurately remembering the right way to my room from here.

"Let's go?" I say and hear him confirm quietly while he searches for my hand but instead of it he grabs my waist and I feel so good while I feel his touch on me but as soon as I feel it he abandons the spot and mutters a shy “sorry”.

I chuckle about his behavior and search for his hand and put them on my waist again while I feel him shiver against my touch, and to be honest I like a lot when he touches me, in the garage yesterday I literally go insane and while we start your walkin through the dark corridors I feel he rubs his fingers against my skin and a big smile appear on my face.

And with this good feeling rubbing my skin and he by my side I think I have the strength to deal with the long night that was to come.
