"Ellanious, are you ready?" Ronan asked as I stepped out.
He scanned me from head to toe, making me feel a bit self-conscious.
"What? Do I look bad?" I inquired.
"No, you look beautiful," he said, taking my hand to escort me.
Everything seemed fine until he added, "I'm sure Crown Prince Griffin won't be able to take his eyes off you today." A hint of a smile played on his lips, but it angered me. Did he think I took so long to get ready because I wanted to?
"Ella," he called as I was already inside the carriage.
"Yes?"
"What are you thinking? Are you nervous? Given everything that has happened, I understand if you are. Even though you've been engaged before, I don't see why there needs to be another engagement," he commented.
"You don't know why I broke off the engagement?" I retorted.
