I gulped and opened and then closed my mouth again. What was I to say to that?
"Y-You.." I gulped again. Why did my throat feel so dry?
"Me?" he nodded, "what about it?" The mirth and mischievousness in his eyes made me angry as if anything.
Shaking my head at him, I glared at him. "What is wrong with you?"
'I am completely serious, Genevive," he replied. "You know it, I have always wanted you and I have never said that fact. Since you have offered to give me whatever I want, I have accepted it and named the price. You."
"I—" what was I supposed to say that? That I did not expect him to choose me? A human, a person?
"You cannot just choose someone, especially me. I asked you to name a thing—"
He cut me off with a pointed look on his face, "when you say anything, it means anything and remember, I questioned you about it first."
