Aftermath of War

I sit looking at the men approaching me slowly with shaking spears pointed at me. As they get closer and closer i slowly regain my strength and stand up.

They all look at each other waiting for another to go first not wanting to be the first to die. Just before they charge at me Zyl lands in between us and swings a spear sending a wave of energy charging throught the army and leaving a river of blood.

The army shrinks back in fear and tries to think of what to do. "I see you killed the commander already!" The man laughs as he sees the head on the ground.

"I did, no thanks to you.." i walk besides him and grab the head. "Is that the thanks i grt for saving you from these hyenas?" Zyl says pointing his spear at the army.

"You wouldn't have if I didn't have someone send you over." I say staring at the army "but i still saved you don't I deserve a little thanks?" He says making me sigh.

"Thank you for the very little you contributed to this battle Zyl.." i say mockingly "You are very welcome! Now what do we do with them?" He looks at the soldiers

"I'm sure the only person with valuable intel is the headless man so the most use they have is resources for advancment. Tie them up and have the low ranks kill them." I say and start walking back to the castle.

That arch demon gave me a decent amount of progress in my cultivation but i feel like i need something more then just another arch demon.

I feel like i need something.. holy? An angel? I don't think just any angel would do either.. Maybe i have to kill an angel on the same level as a arch demon..

With that being the case maybe i also need a human on the same level as a arch demon? Humans are considered equilizers a balance between angels and demons.

Maybe i need a humans soul and energy to balance out and synergize a angels holy power with demonic energy?

But not only is killing a dominion level angel incredibly difficult finding one is a level harder then that. They never leave their nest for anything other then crusades or things of that level of importance..

First things first i should kill a human the level of a arch demon for their energy to make sure i don't die when i absorb an angels energy..

That one is a much easier goal to accomplish at least. Now, should i kill a grand wizard or a grand knight? Both are incredibly difficult in different ways.

I think a wizard would be best for my growth as i have yet to fight a strong spell caster and that experience is worth the risk.

I finish my train of thought and enter the war planning room."ah, Fade are you here for your payment?" Zyl was talking to soldiers when i arrived

"I am, the mission is over with the beseiging army's commander dead." I say placing the head on the table.

"It is indeed! Here, your payment" he hands me a bag of gold coins. "That is the amount i can give in person the rest can be delivered to a homestead or bank if you have a account you wish to have it deposited in." Zyl says

"How much is there in total?" I ask somewhat surprised at the amount. "At least four hundred gold coins." Zyl says calmly

"Four hundred gold coins?" I say surprised "Did Shira not give you the reward beforehand?" Zyl says surprised

"I left before i could hear it.." i said somewhat regretting leaving so quick."So do you have a house or bank you want the money delivered to?" Zyl says

"No.. is there a bank in this fortress city?" I ask not expecting much."Not a bank but a representative you could set up an account with" Zyl says nonchalantly

"Seriously? A bank representative in the middle of a war?" I ask somewhat astonished "yeah, we have them here just in case we need spoils of war transported somewhere safely"

I leave Zyl to his duties and roam the fortress city for the representative of the bank. Along the way i see prisoners being released into fights to the death with our own soldiers.

Both soldiers are given a sword and no armor and fight until the other is dead if the prisoner wins they are let go.

I see a female demon in a suit sitting at a desk and assume she's the representative if not someone who knows where they are.

"Hello, are you the bank's representative?" I go up to the desk and ask."I am! Who do i have the honor of speaking to today?" She smiles brightly while speaking.

"Fade" i say "So, Fade what can i help you with today!" She asks with the same large smile.

"I need to make an account to recieve a large amount of money" i say to her "i see! Well that is a simple proccess Fade! I just need to ask some questions and need a unique way to identify you!" She explains happily

"Ask the questions then" she smiles at this and grabs a paper. "First of all! Are you making this account anonymously or with a alias?" She asks

"Yes i am" i respond "Second, what is your rank?" She asks with a little more intrigue "im an arch demon" her eyes seem to brighten st my response

"Finally, do you have any family members such as wife, daughter, sons you would like to be able to access this account?" She asks this one quickly

"No" i say quickly getting bored of this "Alright! The questions are done! Now, all i need is a way to identify you! We offer a method to do so or if you prefer another way please feel free to tell me!" She says happily

"Whats your method?" I ask "we just need you to expel some demonic energy into a card for us!" She says

"Alright lets do that then" she hands me a card and i expel some demonic energy into it making it glow red and black.

"Now we're done! Just hand that card over to any bank and you can extract or deposit money! Have a fantastic day!" She bows and i walk to Zyl.

"Fade! So did you get a account made?" He asked "i did" i say while showing him my card "Great! I will send the money over to be put under Fade right?" I nod and he gives me a thumbs up

"Alright, the money will be deposited within this week." I nod then leave and start my journey back to the outpost with Shira in it.
