Daniel's Sad News

"Hey, what happened?" Bryant asked in a rather harsh tone to Daniel, Vino just kept quiet trying to hold back the tears that continued to flow when he saw the thin look on Daniel's face.

"Let Mommy explain" There was a woman's voice that I thought was Daniel and Bryant's mom.

"Bryant, you don't have to think too much about this okay, mommy has taken care of all your brother's treatment, your Daddy will also arrive in Indonesia soon," Mommy Bryant said while trying to calm Bryant.

"Mommy, what's the matter? What's wrong with Daniel?" Bryant asked, finally shedding tears because he couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Wait a minute," Mommy Daniel said while walking a bit away from Daniel.

After some distance from Daniel's position, it was clear that mommy Bryant's eyes started to sparkle and she couldn't hold back the tears that were about to fall.

The atmosphere became very tense now as it was seen that Daniel & Bryant's Mom suddenly burst into tears, which was about to explain Daniel's illness to Bryant.

Vino couldn't say anything, he was just silent while holding the cellphone he made for a video call. While Bryant was beside Vino with a panicked and very worried face

"The hospital is trying their best to save Daniel's life," She said while trying to hold back his tears so that Daniel wouldn't hear "But they said that Daniel's illness is very difficult to cure, he chose a kind of cancer in his body," Said mommy Bryant, who made Vino and Bryant instantly speechless.

"Honey, you don't have to think about this too much okay, later mom will inform you about Daniel's progress, mommy will do the best to make Daniel recover okay," Mommy Bryant said and then hung up the phone.

Now Vino and Bryant just froze after getting the news. Vino suddenly flashed in his mind an image he saw yesterday. Is this a sign, he thought?

Vino who couldn't hold back his tears immediately broke and covered his face with both hands, Bryant who was still weak with the news tried to be stronger by hugging Vino and gently rubbing Vino's back.

"Shall we go home?" Ask Bryant

"What about Daniel, I'm also confused" replied Vino in his arms.

"Okay, after this I will talk to Mom Tina, to discuss this matter" Bryant replied while still gently stroking Vino's back.

It didn't feel like time had passed so fast, it was now three in the afternoon and all students had to gather back to their original meeting. Bryant stood up and invited Vino to return to the initial meeting.

Because since arriving at the beach until about to go back to the inn, Vino and Bryant just sat in the same chair. If Vino hadn't thought about chatting with Daniel, maybe he and Bryant wouldn't have known that Daniel was in the hospital right now.

"Okay then, it's okay if you want to come back first to see it, but you're the only one without having to bring a friend okay" Mom Tina explained "Because at the end of this holiday there will be a joint event to remember your class, so you should also present"

"Hmm, that means I can't bring friends, Mom, for example, Vino," Bryant asked, still trying to ask Mom Tina for understanding.

"Hmm, yes, it's like that. Only you can get permission, Vino doesn't have anything to do with your family, so if you want your permission to go home, it's okay" Mom Tina explained which immediately confused Bryant.

"Okay Mom, I'll get back to you later," Bryant replied weakly.

What should I do now? Why now, is everything that happens so mediocre. Is there no other time? Why should this now have to happen this problem? Bryant wrestled with his mind.

Bryant returned to the line limp, Vino realized that trying not to ask Bryant too many questions.

Attendance began, and all students immediately had to get back on the bus to return to the inn.

"I'm confused right now about which one to choose!" He said which immediately made me focus on him, "Mom Tina allowed me to go home, but I'm the only one, I can't bring friends or be accompanied when I leave"

"Stop Vin, even though I can do that easily, but the reality is it's hard, I can't if I have to leave you alone on vacation here, I really can't!" He explained as he grabbed his hair.

"Hey, hmmm I understand what you mean, but it would be nice if you were allowed to go home to see your brother, I'll be fine here!" I answered him trying to make him believe what I said.

"Are you saying that? You might think you'll be fine, but then again I really can't leave you again Vino!" He explained in a slightly high-pitched tone and his eyes sparkled looking at me deeply.

Without thinking I immediately hugged him tightly trying to calm him even though no words left my lips. Maybe this is also a way for him to calm down at this time. I can only do this when Bryant isn't feeling well, because I understand his feelings right now.

I also felt that way, I was also very scared when I saw Daniel's condition now.
