The Pond that Absorbed Me

I wish this story had more readers, cuz the ML is hilariously self- devastating jerk on a survival mission with gorgeous company he doesn’t care about. They shared constellations earlier, but now light-years separated their ‘whispered’ wishes… *** In a moment of unforeseen Fate, a young man reaches into the icy waters, but with a sudden, forceful pull, he is drawn into its depths. Now shrouded in the Darkness he endures his imprisonment there. “Reconnecting with an old friend is like finding a lost jade—if only it were worth the trouble.” Xiǎo Fù, The Servant. *** Meanwhile, in the secluded monastery the Great Master’s rage ignites when his servant vanishes. Four days of torment, anger, and longing leave every monk wishing for their own end… until an unexpected visitor comes. “Your Stupidity is the Yin to Wisdom’s Yang. Keeps the balance, you know.” Xījiǎo Yùshén, The Water Master. *** At this very time, the Prince suffers distress by the grief of loss, spending his days in drunken mourning in order to dull the pain. He doesn't have any desire to cling to life anymore, but being immortal, he cannot just die. “Eternity? Like waiting for a thousand cherry blossoms to bloom—one by one.” Mùnchén, The Second Prince. *** Forbidden practices, Heavenly secrets, Fate’s defiance and the Realms on the brink of War. As well as Curse, Scheming, Sacrifice and Punishment that turns God into Wandering Spirit, and Spirit into only Heavenly Heir. Sarcasm on the edge of torture, both evoke the bittersweet ache of missed encounters and unfulfilled destinies. *** THE LEGEND In a world where Realms are connected, there's an old tale—a Legend that whispers of Balance and hidden Powers. According to this lore, all Realms share a common origin, and their Fates are intertwined. Realms are destined to coexist as one. Here, no hierarchy prevails—no masters, no slaves. Instead, Realms harmonize, their existence interwoven threads. Should the Balance falter, Chaos looms, and the Abyss threatens to swallow everything. Yet, when the Abyss fully absorbs the Realms, the Celestial Source establishes a new Cycle of Life, and brings new Realms to coexist. But even if the Abyss is undeniable, a hope remains, for within the same Source that birthed the Abyss lies an indomitable Force—a Guardian, the One, born to confront, combat, and seal it. Thus, the current Realms gain their chance at survival. *** PS This story was planned long ago, but life is life, so I only decided to share it within online community now. That’s why your support means a world to me >> give me, pls, at least the smallest sign that my work is not in vain so I can happily proceed writing. I’m grateful for your like, comment or review. I appreciate every reader who spends their time following my characters’ journey throughout the chapters and helping me develop their best and worst traits, as well as torture, challenges, punishments and adventures. MEDITATION.

"The Emperor receives no one, and His meditation's duration remains uncertain," the guard informed the Prince.

Ready for confrontation, the Prince faced the guard, but the spear's cold edge pressed against his chin.

"Disgusting worm!" he spat, even as the Adviser tugged at his clothes, attempting to silence him.

"Meditation so soon?" the Adviser mused and his gaze flickered to the guard, who returned the look. "Perhaps a ruse, but for now, entry is barred."

The Prince's frustration simmered. "What if the Emperor learns of the bastard's survival? Will he reclaim Him?"

The Adviser adjusted the Prince's attire, silent, yet nodded.

"And if He does?" the Prince continued.

"It'll be discreet—a secret from the all Heavens." The Adviser answered, but the Prince was still furious.

"Without the Mirrors' Master our search falters. And I have no idea where he might be!"

The Adviser's thoughts wandered, he didn't reply.

"Could the bastard be reborn?"

"Unlikely. Dust or continuity—two paths. Either He became dust wandering in the worlds, or He remained what He initially was."

The Prince leaned in. "If He's alive, the Mirrors' Master will find him. The Emperor won't hesitate if stays unaware."

"For now, for now He won't." the Adviser said, turning away.

"And what of us?" the Prince demanded.

"Are we alone in this revelation?"

The Adviser's retort hung heavy: "Your Father calls Him son, so we should be more than careful."

The Prince froze—a word he'd never heard from his own Father's lips, unlike this brat.

But did that bother him? Quite the opposite. He had no desire to be this asshole's brother, despite his father's attempts.

"Lao Jun, how did you know he might be in the mortal world? Could others be aware too?" The Prince's voice held a hint of defiance.

The Adviser paused, eyes still on the guard.

"Except for your father, I believe no one else knows."

A fleeting smile touched the Prince's lips, extinguished by the Adviser's next words.

"And the Emperor? Does He suspect?"

"Perhaps," the Adviser replied and turned his gaze on guard again just to catch his nod.

"So, He might need a Mirrors' Master too? What an old rag!"

The Prince's outburst earned him a swift hand over his mouth.

"Careful," the Adviser warned, but the Prince struggled free.

"Leave me be!" He wiped his lips with a sleeve—the place the adviser's hand had just touched his skin. "Are you mad? Decided on loosing your hand?"

"Not at all. Your head is worth more than my hand, Your Highness. But I wish to keep it as long as possible for myself, so mind your words in the Palace, please."

Prince paused.

"Saving my life, though… I'm less certain it's worthwhile without this bastard..."

*Thx for reading.
