The phoenix legend.

In the year 4060 on Earth human technology has reached it's full potential and it is still evolving.

Most of these advances in technology and science was due to an asteroid hitting Earth 2000 years ago releasing a massive amount of energy and fusing with the Earth's core. After 20 years of studying the energy the scientists found out that the energy resonates with life force. Due to this asteroid hitting Earth a lot of animals have further evolved into magical beasts, and although some animals did not evolve there was an obvious increase in strength. This energy that resonates with lifeforce is called Mana.

After hundred years there was now magic schools all around the world. There were various ways of getting magic like sealing beast spirits, holding magic artifacts and so on.

People that are able to use this Mana are called mages. They basically protect the world from otherworldly forces.

Turns out that after the evolution of the earth, many life planets started being discovered by humans and other races of the universe targeted Earth once in a while because of the cube that landed on Earth.

The last invasion was by some monsters called ORCS. They came to earth all of a sudden and wanted to take over the world.

This was because of how rich Earth was in Mana. Many planets have more Mana than earth and have high races there so they don't target earth. It is only the lowly races that their planet have little to no Mana that attack.

In the city of joule in what looked like a hotel but has a massive sign displaying 'joule's supermarket'.

A boy was walking outwards of the market making a call while walking out.

"Mom I seem to have forgotten the last ingredient" the boy said tiredly.

"I told you a hundred times raspberry pepper, RASPBERRY PEPPER" his mom shouted through the phone.

"okay, okay. I'll be back home in ten minutes" after talking to his mom he walked to the market and stood in front of the door which scanned him of any dangerous stuff. This was done as a precaution to know if the customer can harm people.

Once that was done he stepped into the huge super market where drones were flying around, and these drones were also called security drones(SC drones).

The boy walked and stood in front of a machine that looked like an ATM.

[Good day sir, how may I help you] a polite robotic voice sounded from the machine and a transparent screen appeared for him to select or mention what he wants.

"I need a raspberry pepper" he said as he swiped his card on the screen scanner and in the next second a pepper the size of an apple appeared.

As he took a closer look he noticed that the pepper looked like a strawberry. He stored it in a small bag that was on his waist and went back home.

Mariel was a normal handsome boy who was raised in a wealthy family. He lived with his mom in a small house that looked normal but in reality they were one of the richest people in the world.

He has finished high school and is currently about to go to higher institution.

He decided to go to magic school so that he can join the army and be a great hero one day, just like his father.

*clack*

"Mariel come straight to the kitchen". Upon entering his house a sweet scent invaded his nose and he followed it to the kitchen where he saw his mom.

"Mom! what kind of soup are you cooking this time?" Mariel said looking at the pot.

"it's lichi soup that we are going to use for your awakening" his mother answered.

"Here!" he handed her the pepper he bought and the other ingredients in the bag.

"why do you have to use this particular pepper" he asked after he handed it over to her. "Because it's hot" she answered.

'Sigh...this woman.'

"Whatever, I'll be in my room" he said as he went up the stairs.

"oh and mariel,wear something nice we'll be having visitors" his mom said. (Visitors!) Mariel pondered. (Must be those elders of the family) he shook his head and went to his room.

Mariel's family was an ancient family that has existed even before the asteroid and they were the 7th most influential family in the world, they owned restaurants, hotels and many other businesses. The thing that is keeping them in the top 10 most influential families was their special trait, they can control magic even without a beast spirit or artifact. But no one knows that Mariel's family are not of this world.
