Tóm tắt

After a tragic accident that claimed the lives of his parents and little sister, Leo, just 17 years old, found himself shouldering all responsibilities alone. By some miracle, he survived the past four months on his own—attending high school, juggling multiple part-time jobs, and enduring sympathetic gazes that pained him. The only respite he found was in books, which offered him an escape and some semblance of joy. One day, while engrossed in the book 'Path of Heroes: Battle Against the End,' his life took an unexpected turn. Halfway through the story, he inexplicably found himself transmigrated into the world of Path of Heroes, inhabiting the body of Azriel Crimson—a character never mentioned in the story's first half. An extra. Someone seemingly irrelevant to the plot. Unfortunately—or perhaps fortunately—fate had other plans, and Leo soon discovered that being a mere extra was not his destiny after all. -------------------------------------- Character illustrations will be available on Discord. Chapter 1Prologue

A boy, no older than sixteen, with tousled brown hair and piercing green eyes shadowed by dark circles, sat cross-legged on the cold, concrete floor of a graveyard, right in front of three tombstones.

His features weren't particularly handsome, yet there was a quiet charm about him—something that set him apart from the average boy.

The warm, golden sunlight gently kissed his skin, offering a comforting contrast to the hard ground beneath him. Birds chirped in the distance, their melody bringing a fragile sense of peace to the somber scene.

A bouquet of flowers lay in front of each tombstone.

Leo smiled softly as he read the words etched into the stone.

The tombstones were plain. He couldn't afford anything extravagant, nor did he have any relatives left to help. His grandparents had passed away just last year.

Every day after school, he came here to spend time with the only family he had left.

'If only that driver hadn't been drunk.'

'If only I had convinced them to stay home with me.'

'Maybe if I had gone with them… things would've turned out differently.'

Shaking the thoughts from his head, he stood up, done recounting his day.

"I'll see you guys again tomorrow," Leo whispered, turning away. He ignored the sympathetic glances from other visitors. A teenage boy visiting graves every day was bound to stir curiosity and speculation.

"I'm too tired for work today… I'll just call in sick," he muttered to himself, not in the mood to deal with customers or small talk.

He was sure it would be fine. He never took days off, and his boss—a kind, elderly man who pitied him—usually understood.

Pulling out his phone, he sent a message to his friend, Nathan.

Leo: Skipping work today. Want to hang out?

Nathan: Sorry, got a basketball match today!

Nathan: Let's hang out tomorrow after school.

Leo: Sure, no worries. Good luck with your match.

Nathan: Thanks!

Leo sighed as he slipped his phone back into his pocket.

"Well… I guess I'll just read today," he murmured, walking home.

It was a short walk—only twenty minutes from the graveyard. The apartment he lived in was decently sized and reasonably priced. His parents had bought it, and now, it was his.

"I'm home…"

He spoke the words out of habit as he opened the door, already used to the silence that followed. No footsteps. No laughter. No voices calling his name.

'Some habits never die…'

He slipped off his shoes and flopped onto the couch. A book rested there—the one he'd been reading earlier that morning before school.

"Great. Had to stop right at the best part," he muttered, picking it up. The title read: Path of Heroes: Battle Against the End. The cover showed a lone boy gripping a sword with both hands.

******

"Haa..."

Breathing out loud, he closed the book after reading for the past three hours.

The sun was already starting to set.

Standing up, he went to get a glass of water.

"Really, to think someone like him would die when the story is barely halfway done."

It had been a while since he had read something so fun and exciting.

It felt like he was actually part of the story and living the protagonist's life.

Though if he had a single complaint, it was that the protagonist had a harem.

He wasn't a big fan of harems, but other than that, everything was just perfect.

He couldn't wait to read the rest of the story as he hurriedly filled his glass with water.

But the moment he was about to take a sip, the glass fell from his hand, shattering on the ground with water spilling as well.

"Argh! Shit, what the hell!"

Leo held his head as he suddenly felt extremely lightheaded.

His eyes became blurry, making it difficult to see.

"What is happening, damn it? Am I dying?"

Gripping the counter tightly, he tried to stabilize himself.

"Haa...haa..."

His breathing became short and labored.

'Am I getting a heart attack? At this age!?'

Gripping his chest as he felt his heart thumping loudly, he tried to walk towards the couch where his phone was.

'I need to call an ambulance!'

The moment he tried to take another step forward, the book he left on the couch started to emit a blinding light throughout the entire apartment.

He had to tightly close his eyes as the light was blinding him, forcing him to use his hand to cover his eyes.

"What is happening now! Am I becoming delusional as well!?"

Trying to calm himself down from all the things happening, he tried to walk to the couch again.

Yet,

The moment he stepped forward again, his foot slipped because of the water on the ground, making him fall on the broken shards.

"Argh!"

He cried out in pain as he felt broken glass pieces digging into his back.

He felt the energy leaving his body, making it extremely difficult to stand up again.

Leo couldn't see the blinding light anymore; instead, all he saw was darkness with stars surrounding him everywhere.

'I must have hit my head hard...'

He could breathe easier again, and his heart had calmed down, but now his entire body was in pain.

He groaned as he did his best to push himself back up instead of laying on the ground.

His body was aching so much, yet he endured and finally managed to stand up again.

Feeling the wind caressing his cheeks and the rustling sound of leaves, he calmed down a little.

'I am not dead yet...'

'Wait...'

Finding it strange to hear the sound of wind and leaves, he opened his eyes, which had been closed the entire time.

When he finally opened them, instead of finding himself back in his apartment, he was on an old, broken street.

Looking around, he saw broken buildings, some tilting sideways, others only half-standing.

Debris was scattered everywhere, remnants of the old houses and buildings.

Tree branches and other plants covered many of the buildings, intertwining with the ruins.

It felt no different than being inside an abandoned city that hadn't been lived in for ages.

"Huh?"

Young Master's PoV: Woke Up As A Villain In A Game One Day

"Now you see?" she shouted in a mix of annoyance and disappointment. "You can't outsmart Scrients! They're the most intelligent beings across the two realms." "You're right," I muttered, averting my gaze with a heavy sigh. "I made a mistake. I was too arrogant to think that a mere human like me could fool them." —BOOM!! "Heik! Wh-What was that?" "Hmm? I'm not sure. Maybe you should go and ask the most intelligent beings across the two realms. Oh wait, you can't. I killed them all.” ______ My name is Samael Kaizer Theosbane. On the last day of high school, I got into a fight with a kid I used to bully. It was a stupid, pointless scuffle, and in the middle of it, I tripped and hit my head on a rock. That’s when the memories came flooding in - the memories of another life, of a different world. Suddenly, everything made a twisted kind of sense. I realized two things. First, I was in a game I used to play in my past life. Second, I was a villain. A villain! Not the cool and mysterious kind, either. No, my destiny was to be manipulated and die a dog's death! I was the worst type of cliché: an ungrateful, privileged, insufferable young master. The sort you'd find in those poorly written fantasy stories. The kind everyone hates — a snobby brat from a powerful noble family who thinks he owns the world just because he was born with a silver spoon lodged in his mouth. You know the type. The one the hero beats to a pulp to prove his worth. Yeah, I was that guy. And the hero? The hero was the kid I’d been bullying all this time. The same one I got into a fight with. He was the supposed savior of this damned world. A world teetering on the edge of destruction, beset by wars, calamities, and a grim future that only I knew. And at the end of it all, the final antagonist of the game, the undefeatable boss… the Spirit King, was waiting. But could I even make it to the end? Could I conquer a game where defeat was the only certainty? A game that was now my reality! “Ah, fuck it.” I had no idea if I could, but I sure as hell was going to try. Extorting extras, manipulating main characters, twisting the story to my advantage, stealing the hero’s cheat items, killing villains before they could become threats - nothing was beneath me. Would the main characters be affected? Who cares! Would the story change? Even better! All I cared about was me—my survival, my life, my choices. “I will live this life with no regrets.” …But as I soon discovered, fate was not easily changed. And the price of altering one's destiny was steep. ========== Discord Server: https://discord.gg/VjFQtDUaTR

Armipotent

This is a work of fiction, any names, characters, stories or events, are fictitious! (Even the country in the story is just the author's fantasy as the author never visited those countries in the story) Armipotent is an archaic adjective meaning "strong in battle." Basically, it refers to someone who is physically tough in war. Originally, it was used to refer to the Roman god of war, Mars. ===================== Tang Shaoyang, an orphan who dropped out of the middle school to fight on the street as he found out school was useless for a penniless orphan like him. Tang Shaoyang dropped out of his school, fighting on the street, and made a name for himself. Berserker Tang from Youyouliucun. Afterward, Dragon Wing triad recruited him and everything was good for him. Even though the public deemed him as a tumor of society, Tang Shaoyang was having a decent life. Until one day, everything changed as an absurd and strange game started. "... Game starts! Stage one: Survival for The Fittest!" After the game started, zombies appeared out of nowhere. ... Ding! "You have killed 1000 zombies less than 24 hours since the game started! You gained 3 Talents!" Dong! "You may choose 3 Talents! please choose carefully!" Tang Shaoyang held his chin and mused what Talent he had to choose. "With Zombies appear everywhere, I need an infinite strength... this is one, I still need to choose 2 Talents more..." Then a lewd smile formed on his lips. "I want an infinite strength, charm and charisma to conquer women, and the last one, I want to upgrade my **** so I can please my women!" After saying this, Tang Shaoyang laughed aloud. "Hahaha, there's no way such talent exists... ehhhhh?!!!" Ding! Dong! "3 Talents are consumed! You have been granted Divine Body! Good Luck, Gamer Tang Shaoyang!" Tang Shaoyang immediately checked the detail of Divine Body. After a brief silence, he muttered unbelievably. "Such Talents really exist..." The resplendent narrative titled "Path of the Extra" by Crypthh, unfurls a magnum opus that ventures into the territory of family and loss with unparalleled finesse and masterful storytelling. This digital tome is a veritable work woven with threads of profound philosophy, brilliant prose and a narrative flexibility that defies the conventional confines of contemporary literature. The story follows a protagonist, orphaned in one life, prince in another, as he embarks on a peregrination of improvement and self-discovery that is no different from what we see in mythologies and legends of old. Like other works of the genre, the narrative explores the protagonist's life as an 'extra', a metaphysical representation of the human nature pertaining to the character's lack of presence in the stage of life. Each and every word of this magisterial work is inculcated with vocabulary and verbiage that is both grandiloquent and mellifluous. The author manages to encapsulate the readers by delineating the odyssey portrayed in the novel with a lexical panache that is as invigorating as it is erudite. The author’s unparalleled ability to conjure vivid imagery and evoke profound emotional resonance is reminiscent of the literary titans of yore. Each character, regardless of the importance they pose to the plot, is meticulously etched with their own inner turmoils and nigh-tangible verisimilitude. My serendipitous encounter with this novel has been a scintillating experience that has brought joy to my once bleak life. POTE, is without a doubt, a tour de force that is destined to ascend to the pantheon of literary immortality. This is not merely a novel; it is an intellectual sojourn, an ethereal voyage that will leave an indelible imprint upon the reader’s psyche. In summation, Crypthh has bestowed upon the literary world a quintessential masterpiece, a story like no other, a masterpiece that will etch itself onto the ever-flowing river of history and will undoubtedly be revered by cognoscenti and literati alike. No novel can compare to this work veritable symphony of words that exalts the sublime potential of the written word.

Review at the end of volume 1 My first thought after reading this book is “Flawed Masterpiece” This book has the most generic beginning. Mc loses family, get transmigrated to a fantasy world. But what really puts this book ahead of almost any book on this novel is the professionalism in the writing. This way the scenes are set up, how the characters interact, how monologues are provided and how cohesive the story is. It’s all premium. No one would bat an eye if this was a properly published light novel. There is no denying it the writer has talent. Even though the plot is generic the story itself has complex points, and goes away from cliches like plot armor, system and hero complex mc. I was pleasantly surprised on how fluid it felt. But, at the same time I feel this book not taking advantage of the web novels formats freedoms. The book feels too condensed, similar to a light novel every arc has to lead to another major arc. Which leads to mc personality development and leaves readers with solutions to previous mysteries and new questions. Which all feels accelerated as that is the format of writing a book. But webnovel allows you take a more slow approach, where you can build the world better with time to breath for the mc and the readers. For example, concepts like academy are just used for bringing the main cast together so that they could go to the next event in the story. The classes feel superficial and the rest of the school students might aswell be dolls. I know people will say it has been only 2 weeks in the story but for me the academy has already lost its shine. Another example would be the logic of this magic, the book just says mana Core==magic powers and skills. This is a typical l.novel structure where things are just stated to be true. Another would be just shrugging of questions like : how did the mc survive 2 years in the void realm?every single person on this would just believed it, cause a kid says so? What if he was kidnapped and brainwashed and lied. No one in this world thought that? Maybe dig in and ask the mc the secrets of the void. But no we will ignore this cause who cares. Again I am not being critical just for sticking out. I have to give high praises to this book for the high quality and professional content it provides. But I am just saying the book can take advantage of the web novel format. It allows authors to really refine their craft and build the world. Compared to a light novel format where you go from one story event to the next. With little time to breath.
