Your Tears are Hidden in the Rain

The rain falls daintily like snowflakes in this cold town on winters evening.

The sky a dark blue, the sun had not yet vanished.

The dim streetlights lit up the way passing little shops.

Th street empty,

They're all warm inside.

But he walked in the frigid outdoor freeze.

He wore a smile but had lonely eyes.

The shadows of the street hiding him.

The invisibility as he continued along his way.

The rain grew from a drizzle to spitting drops that could be felt as it hit his face.

They gently rolled off his face like tears.

He continued walking to the edge of the town to a grassy hill.

Atop the hill stood a small new growing tree.

His eyes widened as saw a figure.

A pale blue silhouette looking at him with a kind smile.

He looked down at a large rock by the tree.

It had engravings on it.

Sadness washed across his face.

The silhouette approached him, stroking the rain drops off his face.

But as they were wiped off, tears rolled down his eyes.

The blue being kissed his forehead before fading away.

He slowly stepped his way up to the stone engraving standing over it.

Droplets of rain fell from his face onto it, or were they tears?

It had a heart with two names undecipherable on it.

It must have been many years old.

The rain felt unbearable now.

It rushed down in the blacked-out sky.

As he cried out to the one he lost.
