Falling for his charm

...

"So you scored a date with Blake Castle" Jordan said with amazement.

"Yes" I said in disbelief.

"Anyways they only going as friends though" Amelia reminded me. She looked at the menu on what to order.

We came to the frozen yogurt store a few minutes away from school to have a little girl chit chat and get to know Jordan better. After all she is dating my best friend, I need to know if she's good enough.

"So Jordan how long have you and Daniel been dating" I asked scanning through my phone.

"Like a month or so. His such a nice guy. Cute, sensitive and always wanting to help out. You know lost week he helped out at the animal shelter" she started rambling about him.

"In other words his a nice boy" Amelia said nonchalantly

"I mean my parents love him"

Amelia smacked the menu shut and slammed it onto the table. "He met your parents"

She's acting weird. I put my hand on her shoulder so she could calm down. We were in a public place and I didn't want to make a scene.

"Is there something wrong" Jordan looked confused

"No no, he just didn't tell us about any of this or about you, so we are shocked" I tried clearing the air but there was so much going on I was also confused.

"Oh Danny is a secretive person" Jordan gave a fake smile.

There was a long silence. I checked the time on my watch and realized it was getting quite late and I needed to get home.

"Amelia you ready to go" I asked her braking the silence.

"Gladly" she pushed out the chair and walked out, not even saying goodbye.

"I am sorry for the way she's acting, she's usually not this mean. I will talk to her. You enjoy the rest of your day" I hugged her briefly before running after Amelia.

She was already in the driver seat when I got there, I wasn't going to let her drive. I don't have time for her road rage.

I walked over to the driver seat and tried getting her out.

"Get out, you're not driving" I pursed my lips straight with a serious glare

She ignored me and pushed the key into the ignition  making the engine roar. "Do you want to go home or what"

"Only if I am driving, now given me the keys" I stretched my hand out.

She paused for a while then pulled the key out and gave it in my hand.

"Fine" she sighed moving over to the passenger seat.

I got in and started the car. We were on the way home. Amelia looked tensed and I wondered what was bothering her so much.

"Amels, why did you go off like that" I leaned over switching on the radio.

"I don't want to talk about it" she mumbled chewing the inside of her cheek.

"No there's something, and you need to tell me" I pressed

"Look Ava, you are my best friend and I'd tell you if anything is bothering me, right now I don't want to talk about it. We have to get you ready for that date you have" She snapped and started taking heavy breathes.

"Fine" I mumbled raising the volume on the radio the drain out the silence.

I pulled the car up into my driveway. Amelia and I got out and into the house. I dropped my bags and hit the showers, while she got me something to wear.

Once I was out I ran over to my bedroom and saw the selection of clothes she picked out for me on my bed.

"OK, these are all sexy for a movie night" she rested on a bean bag chair.

I ran my hand over the outfits until I found something I liked. I pulled out a boyfriends, baggy jeans and a croc top with some matching shoes.

Amelia paused and looked at me. "You really going to dress like a bruh girl"

"Why not" I said with a smug and grabbed to clothes.

I got dressed in the bathroom. The jeans fitted just perfectly. Tight but also loose. I put a belt around my waist getting the rest of the outfit on.

I walked back to the room.

"Ok you look good" Amelia complicated me. "What are you going to do with your hair"

"I like my afro" I ran my hand through the thick curls.

"Can we at least pull it back, so he can actually see your face" she pulled out a head band.

"Fine" I walked over sitting on the ground while she tired my hair.

I checked the time again and it was 7.55pm.  Time was moving fast. We put the finishing touches to my look.

"Here's the ear peace" Amelia handed me something that looked very transparent, I slipped it into my ear.

"I'll have the microphone" she wiggled it in front of me.

She moved to the other side of the room.

"Testing testing, 1 2 3" she shouted into the microphone

My ear started ringing. "Not so loud I can hear you" I hissed.

"Just precaution ma'am"

"Avery, someone is here go see you" I heard my shout from downstairs.

"Here's here" Amelia exclaimed pushing me out of the room. I ran back grabbing a jacket incase it got cold.

I heard talking downstairs. And I came down the steps and the talking stopped. At the bottom of the steps was my mom and Blake.

He just stared at me as if I was a newly transformed person.

My mom smiled and gave me a thumbs up.

"Hey" I stood in front of him

"Hey" he pushed his hands into his pocket.

He wore a simple washed out black jeans, a white t-shirt and a leather jacket.

"Let's go" I motioned to the do.

We walked down the corridor that led to the door.

"Don't do anything that I wouldn't do" Amelia shouted before we walked out the front door.

His black jeep stood at the end of the driveway. He opened my door and held me in, since the car was high off the ground.  He got into the driver seat and started to car.

We drove in silence. I fiddled with the ring on my finger.

"You look nice" Blake said, not taking his eyes off the road.

"You too" I smiled and him and he returned it.

We pulled up in front of the theater and he got the tickets stamped. We walked over to buy some popcorn.

"Come in mama bear" I heard Amelia in the ear piece.

I looked around the theater and found her standing behind a cardboard cut out and she waved at me.

"Avery you ready" Blake looked at me, bring me out of my thoughts.

"One popcorn" I looked over at him.

"Yes, remember I said I was supposed to be here with Catherine" he reminded me.

I nodded my head and we walked into the theater and found our seats.

"I am in, ready to go" Amelia talked again.

"Ready" i said, so only she could hear, because she was sitting behind us.
