“Analysis of bones can very often reveal where a person lived.”
“Really?” Father said.
“Yes, Sir. There’s no guarantee of course, but bones can sometimes reveal traces of substances that are unique to a particular locality.”
The discussion very quickly became so technical that I said, “Time out. We don’t need to get lost in details that only Dani understands.”
“You’re absolutely right,” Father said.
“And,” I said, “while the two of you were off on that scientific tangent, I had an idea.”
“We’re waiting,” Dani said.
I told them what I proposed and they readily agreed. Angelina was due back in my office on Thursday, and I spent some time that morning in the process of organizing my thoughts. The telephone on my desk rang and I picked it up.
“Your next appointment is here,” my receptionist said.
“Great, send her in.”
“Il Ducais with her.”
“Send him in, too.”
