COMMAND

The morning sun streamed through the window, casting a glommy shadow over the sitting room, Amelia sat on an armchair, her heart heavy with dread. She had been avoiding Luca for days but she knew that she couldn't put it off any longer. He had made it clear last night that he wanted to talk to her about her job.

Amelia has been working in an advertising company for years before she agreed to this marriage, but now Luca wanted her to quit and Amelia knew that if she refused there will be consequences.

Amelia took a deep breath and braced herself for what was to come.

Luca walked into the room and sat across from her, he fixed her with a cold calculating stare, "you are to quit your job in the company, Mike my assistant will get you a document to sign tomorrow, you will start job as my secretary in my company" he said,

Amelia's heart pounded in her chest, she knew what he was asking and she was torn between fear and anger, "I.... I'm already employed and I'm happy where am working. I can't just quit my job and come work for you', Luca smiled but there was no warmth in it, 'you don't understand the position you're in Amelia. I have alot of influence and connection and I can make life very difficult for you, if you don't do as I say. I'm giving you a choice -you can either accept or suffer the consequences ".

Amelia felt like the walls were closing in around her, she was trapped and didn't know what to do.

'i....I need sometimes to think about this' she said her voice trembling.

Luca stood up his expression still cold and hard 'you think you have a choice, you start on Monday and that's final, he said.

Amelia nodded unable to speak, Luca turned and left the room leaving Amelia alone with her thoughts.

As the weekend passed, Amelia found herself growing more and more anxious, she couldn't sleep or eat properly and she was constantly on the edge. She was hoping that Monday never happen so she wouldn't have to go to Luca office, being his secretary she has a feeling that this is going to be a very dangerous decision but like Luca said she has no choice, she has to obey and follow all his rules so she doesn't put her father's life in danger.
