Trapped?

After seeing the system notification, Jake had a smile on his face because ever since he fought the five-tailed wert on planet Soran, he had been locked up in the world penitentiary and now he was kidnapped by apparently a new race that called themselves True Mages.

There hadn't been a lot of action between becoming a prisoner and getting kidnapped so when he got the system notification, he couldn't help but smile.

At first the acolytes were confident enough to take on Jake and knock him conscious but seeing him smile, they got a little bit worried. Reading Jake's mind also increased their unsettledness.

They were not weak by any chance but the prophecy that spoke about the power of the Harbinger clearly shows that compared to him, the three of them were not as strong.

With his newly added stats into strength, Jake tried breaking out of the vines again. He pulled his right arm towards himself and this time he could feel that the vines were not strong enough to hold him. They were being pulled away from the bars they were attached to.

Using all of his strength, as fast as he could, he pulled his hands out of the vines and ripped the ones that were wrapped around him.

"Finally." Jake said and watched as the acolytes took a fighting stance when Jake got to his feet. Or at least when he tried to.

After he got the vines off his body, Jake tried standing up but he could not stand with his left leg – it was withered, the same way it was in his mind.

'Shit.' Jake thought, looking at his leg. 'How am I supposed to fight like this?!'

He could already hear the acolytes chanting spells. One of them was getting bigger and larger, amplifying the amount of his strength.

Another one was starting to become invisible as she went closer to Jake and suddenly Jake felt something strangling him. The vines he had cut off were now on his neck, trying to choke the life out of him.

He didn't know if that was something one of the acolytes did or if it was Mithral's doing. His endurance was a lot higher than before so it would take more than that to actually harm him.

Not wasting any more time, Jake's eyes began to glow with purple energy and his body was glowing from the purple energy that was seeping out of his body.

The acolytes were struggling to move through the purple energy and Jake was controlling it, making it more condensed before he released it in an explosive way with a bang.

He let the energy stay around his body as he ran from one acolyte to the next and hit them till he knocked them out. The acolyte that had turned invisible had been sent flying back into a wall along with the others when Jake released the purple energy explosively.

They still tried to fight him and it was less difficult now because the purple energy was only around Jake's body, no longer seeping out.

Jake was extremely fast with only his natural speed and the moment any of them tried to cast spells, he would run towards them and directly hit their throat.

That was until one of the acolytes pushed Jake from behind without touching him, making him lose his balance, then another waved her hand in front of his eyes.

Jake had suddenly lost his vision and could see only black. He struggled to get any sense of bearing and he could feel the strong hits on his face and his stomach.

"Guess he is not so powerful after all." an acolyte said as his massive fist connected with Jake's cheekbone and he kicked Jake's legs, making Jake fall hard and hit his head on the ground.

"Stop." one of the acolytes said. "We should knock him unconscious now and get the elders."

The energy that was around Jake seemed to increase with intensity and more of it moved into his eyes, restoring his vision.

Quickly running off the ground, Jake stood facing all three acolytes and decided to reserve his energy. For some reason, his energy seemed to be working against their magic, cancelling its effects which made it his most useful weapon in a world with true mages.

He still had the purple energy around him but it was thinner than before and as fast as he could, he ran laps around all three acolytes before punching one of them into the bars.

He was finally down and out of the fight and Jake had just jumped off the bars by the walls and kicked the jaw of the acolyte with the massive fist. He didn't stop there as he lifted the acolyte off the ground, despite his humongous size, and slammed him into the female acolyte, ensuring they were both out of the fight.

Pulling the purple energy back into his body, Jake saw that his leg was now back to normal and he could walk again. He had been able to run during the fight with the energy covering the leg but he had not expected it to be fine when he finished the fight.

'Looks like the energy really does beat their magic.' Jake thought. He had gotten five stat points and he put them into his mental moxie. He figured if his mental moxie was high enough, the true mages wouldn't be able to read his thoughts or cast mind-related spells on him.

As he waited for his health to recover slowly, he searched for an exit or an entrance in the building. He had seen the true mages enter and leave through some form of teleportation but how was he supposed to leave like a normal human being.

"Am I trapped in here?"
