Dinner for two

It's Saturday morning, I'm up and early for a change. I get an email on the gallery's account from someone called Andrea Tallis

Hello Miss Williams,

Can you please confirm if you are free today at 6pm to have dinner with Mr Beaumont at the Myrthepark.

Many thanks

Andrea Tallis

Well I was expecting to be meeting Mr Beaumont on a weekday, I was planning on just chilling out today but I am free so might as well. Mike would flip knowing I managed to secure another charity event with the biggest company in the city.

-Hi Andrea,

Can you please inform Mr Beaumont that I am free today and will be seeing him at 6pm.

Best

Cass Williams.

ADRIAN

*Knocks*

"Come in" Andrea Walks in her face small. I give her a straight look.

"Sorry to disturb you Mr Beaumont, Miss Williams has agreed for dinner at six tonight. I have confirmed reservation at the Myrthepark. Is there anything else you need Sir?"

"No, you may go home" I asked Andrea to come in today as I need a few things taken care of. I enjoy working at the office when there's no one around, and I expect one of my assistant to work too and assist me with anything I may need.

"Thank you Sir" she says closing the door behind her. I'm glad I'll be seeing her today, I have been thinking about her here and there. That smart mouth of hers, I like it. I'm sure she'll be shocked to see me as she is expecting my father.

Truth is it was all my idea to have a second charity event, I needed to see her again by any means necessary, even if that meant I have to sponsor another charity event.

CASSIE

I'll call mike, I'm sure he'll be happy to hear this.

"Please don't tell me anything happened to my gallery" He says jokingly

"Hahah very funny! I was actually calling to let you know that I am having dinner with Mr Beaumont tonight to discuss another charity event" I squeal

"You're shitting me?! Cass that's amazing! That will boost our sales even more. How did this come about?" he says happily

"Well Adrian came to the gallery to drop the cheque and he said his dad wanted to have a meeting with us to discuss another charity event" It then hits me, I haven't even told him or anyone about Charlie yet, just thinking about him has my heart pounding. I've been so busy with the gallery and making sure everything goes smoothly, I haven't had time to stop and think about Charlie or what happened

"There's something else I need to tell you " the words almost come out in a whisper

"What? what's wrong"

"Well, Before Adrian came by, Charlie was there and he kind of.... well he threw himself at me. He was trying to kiss me and saying things like he knows I like him and I just need to let it happen. When I asked him to let go he just wouldn't and that's when Adrian walked in and Charlie just left"

"What the hell!" he shouts "The bastard!, Cass I'm so sorry"

"I know the gallery deals with him from time to time..but"

"No don't even, I'm dropping his ass, I will also have a chat with him"

"Thank you Mike, he's never acted this way before so I'm shocked that he even behaved this way but he just made me so uncomfortable" I say softly

"Don't worry, I'll make sure he doesn't bother you again" he says gently

"Thank you, anyway so what are your ideas, what should we pitch to Mr Beaumont" I say changing the subject.

Me and Mike go through all the details and his ideas about the next charity, I created an idea folder with everything we can do at the next event to make it an even better success. By the time I had finished and was happy with it, it was time for me to get ready. I know if Mike was here he would pester me about dressing the part so I am. I'm wearing a black silk halter dress, black pumps and my hair cascading down my shoulders. I call myself a cab. I'm looking down at my notes, I can feel the anxiety coming on. I need to dazzle Mr Beaumont with all of Mike's ideas and mine too!

I arrive at the restaurant a little bit after 6. The receptionist greets me with a rather large grin.

"Good evening, do you have a reservation?"

"Hi, Good evening, yes I am meeting Mr Beaumont" I smile at her, she nods looking down at the screen in front of her

"Follow me please"

I follow her, to my surprise we walk past all the tables in the main room, to a more private corner in the back. She stops at the table.

"Here you are, your waiter will be bringing your menus shortly" She says smiling at me

"Thank you" I give her a warm smile and bring my attention to the man sitting at the table. My mouth drops when I see Adrian. I thought I was meeting his father? He gets up and pulls out my chairs. I look up at him confused, why he is here instead of his father, I am so not prepared to spend the night with someone as arrogant as him.

"Sit" His voice rough and low. I take a seat and he gently pushes the seat forward.

"Erm, I don't understand you said I was meeting your father, the email...."

"You do realise, I'm also Mr Beaumont right?" he says curtly. "I decided it would be best for me to speak with you rather than my father, he's a busy man" he says as he sips his white wine. Great now I get to have dinner with this guy, who thinks everyone should be at his feet.

Before I have the chance to say anything the waitress interrupts us. "Here are the menus, Would you like to order some drinks?" she asks her eyes focused on Adrian, she is smiling down at him. This is probably the kind of reaction he gets from women all the time.

"No, I'll have a bottle of the white I just ordered" He says bluntly

"Right away sir" she retreats away, I look at him my lips pressed into a line, well he didn't even ask me what I wanted but it's fine, I need the alcohol to get through this dinner anyway.

"How long have you worked at the gallery?" he asks, his hand slowly grazing his stubble

"Oh um, Nearly two years"

"What are your plans, what's next?" I thought we were going to discuss the charity but I guess were talking about me

"Mike is looking to expand, so once he opens another store I'll probably be in charge of this one so that would be fun" His eyes decent to the halter part of the dress and back up to my lips. The way he looks at me send shivers down my spine. I realise that I am nervously playing with my fingers under the table, my palms slightly sweaty. Somehow being around him even though he was a dick but a beautiful dick that made me uneasy.

"What about you what do you do?" I ask, trying to shift the conversation so I learn more about him, must be a reason why he is such a dick.

"I work for my Family's company, over seeing, managing, decision making all that good stuff" he says with a slight smile on his face. The waitress comes back with the bottle of wine, my eyes shift to her. Adrian doesn't seem too bothered by her. His fixated on me. She opens the bottle and pours out a glass for me then Adrian.

"Thank you" I say politely

"Are you ready to order?" she says looking at Adrian

"I'll have the Waggu steak, medium rare, pepper sauce and a kale salad" he says closing his menu, well straight to the point. I quickly scan the menu as she turns to me.

"She'll have the same" He says bluntly, I look over at him. What the shit?! At the risk of starting another pissing contest in front of the waitress, I just shoot her a smile and hand her the menu and she leaves

"Why do you do that? Act the way you do?" I ask, straight to the point, I have no issues confronting him.

"Do what? Act like that?" he shrugs as if he has no idea what I mean

"The first time I met you, you were so rude and blunt to your assistant. Then calling my work a heap of crap" I say frowning at him, he doesn't seem the least bothered.

"You are just so rude and blunt and bossy. I think what bothers me the most is the way you treat and speak to people" He raises his eyebrows, I guess he has never had people telling him how it is before, must come as a shock.

"What else do you think of me?" a smile dancing on his lips, his eyes dark. I'm not going to hold back someone needs to tell him how it is

"I think you are arrogant and entitled. You expect everyone to submit to you and be at your feet, I'm sorry but I'm never going to be one of them. You think because you are a Beaumont that you are entitled to treat people however you like and say whatever you want." There I said it, what everyone has been thinking, maybe I should just cut this dinner short and call it a night. To my surprise he doesn't look shocked nor annoyed by my comments. He is smiling at me

"It's nice" he says taking a sip of his wine "It's nice to hear someone's real opinion for once without having to feel like they are to trying to climb up my ass" My jaw drops. I wasn't expecting that, I thought he was going to end the dinner.

"Usually people try to please me, keep me happy no matter what. You're a breath of fresh air. I like you" He says with a mischeioveous look on his face.

"Erm, Well Someone had to tell you how it is" I say still shocked at his reaction

"Hardest part of being me, is all the fake people who are around me. No one seem to be genuine these days. Even the women, either want my money or want to be seen with me. Because of this it's so hard for me to find a woman I can trust and god knows I'm so horny" he says as I sip my wine, it nearly comes out of my nose. I cough choking on my wine.

My face flushing crimson red, I can't believe he just said that. I put the glass down and wipe my mouth with the napkin, he is looking at me, watching my every move.

"You okay?" he smiles

"I'm sorry I was not expecting.....That's good to know!" I say awkwardly

Our food arrive just in time thank god. The waitress places our food in front of us and all the sudden I'm glad he ordered for me. It looks fantastic. The steak looks so juicy and kale salad has chillies and nut flakes on it. I cut my steak and take the first bite, I can't help but feel Adrian's eyes on me, watching me

"Good?" he asks, as I am chewing, the steak practically melts in your mouth. I look at him wide eyed

"This is honestly the best steak I have ever had!" He chuckles, this is probably the first time I've heard him laugh and he has a cute laugh and a beautiful smile.

"Good I'm glad you like it!" He says and he starts tucking into his food. While eating we talk about Mike's ideas for the next charity, we have agreed on doing another event at the Beaumont's mansion, displaying our best artist's works, 50% of the sale will then go to the winning charity chosen by our buyers. I'm actually so excited!

"Desert?" he asks

"No, thank you" he nods, the waitress brings us the bill and places it on the table, as I reach over to grab it, Adrian snatches it from the table.

"Tut-tut, a lady never pays" he says disagreeing

"Really? After how rude you have been I would have never thought you'd be so nice" he smirks at me.

"Thank you" I give him a warm smile and he nods his head as to say no problem. The waitress walks over with the card reader. Her eyes never leaving him, I mean she didn't even care that I was sitting there.
