Confusion
Rem woke up.
'Urgh... Where am I..?' She looked around her surroundings.
'Isn't this the modern world??? Why am I here?' Rem wondered.
Everywhere she looked, she could see tall buildings and skyscrapers.
'Isn't this New York?'
Rem remembers living in New York in her past life. The mansion she lived in before was located in New York.
'Why am I here..?'
Rem walked around the city. She tried to interact with a few people talking next to the bus stop.
'As I've thought... I can't touch anyone or anything. How come I could touch that lever from that other time? Was it because I in my past life grabbed onto the lever? Hm... If that's the case, that would explain it.' Rem thought.
Walking casually, Rem suddenly saw a blue light coming from the area behind a short building Rem was near.
*ZRMMM!
The light disappeared.
'What was that?'
Confused yet curious at the same time, Rem carefully walked towards the light she saw before. Unexpectedly, when she arrived at the area the light was at, she saw her younger self on the ground, unconscious.
'I look the same as the last time I saw myself. I still look like the six-year-old me. How did my younger self get here? Wasn't she teleported to another world?'
Rem was even more confused than she was before. Looking at her younger self, Rem tried to think of what was happening but before she could do so, all she could see was white light. In response, Rem closed her eyes due to the bright light. When she opened her eyes again, she saw a destroyed, wrecked city before her. Two-legged, four-legged, no-legged, and many-legged creatures roamed the city. Some were flying while others could climb buildings and stick to walls.
'What in the world is happening here??? Don't tell me this is New York...' Rem was shocked by the scene she is seeing.
Many emotions were in Rem currently. She shivered from the sight of the city.
'I've definitely seen this before... The city... Destroyed..! Why do I feel so uncomfortable and guilty? I can't remember anything yet...'
Rem could feel her chest throbbing. The white light appeared once again. Instead of seeing a destroyed city, Rem was now in the middle of a battlefield. There were motionless bodies laying on the ground. The bodies were from the soldiers and people who decided to enter the battlefield. Blood was splattered everywhere. It was a horrific sight but Rem wasn't frightened by this at all. What she was frightened about was the body of a woman. The woman was old but she looked young for her age.
'I know her. I know her...'
The woman has long, white, beautiful hair. Although Rem didn't see the woman's eye color, she was positive that she has met her somewhere. She knew she has met her before. She knew that this woman, lying motionless on the battlefield, was a very important person to her. Rem's chest throbbed once more.
'What is this..?'
No matter how hard Rem tried, she couldn't remember anything.
Who is this woman? What happened to the younger version of Rem from when she was six years old? How come Rem saw a destroyed city before her eyes? Why does Rem keep seeing her memories from her past life?
