A little over one hundred Espingtonians died during the first wave of battle, the majority of them being Espington Militia. The bodies had already been sent to the Morgue. Doctors Thurber and Porter had already left Espington so the nurses and Dr. Hodge took care of everything. Marshall sat on the hood of his Humvee with his bandaged shoulder. He grimaced in pain at the slightest movement. Anzalone was there for the company as all the nurses and Medic Guard were aiding the critically injured.
The Hangar had reopened to let the two copters soar. Despite the copters not having any mounted weapons, the Pilot Guard used the vehicles for an aerial view. A few Guard armed with Obsidians stood on the open sides ready to shoot if necessary during the trip. Cradock had ordered Roth and Kaminsky to fly out of Espington and circle the Pines.
"Head to the Elmray Mountains and back," Cradock had said. "See where the Vikings fled off to. See if there are any Piners in the area."
