22. Chat

I left the room thanking the old man, but he spoke to me before I left the room, "You know a man named Jax? When he said those words I was filled with concern and I answered instantly "How do you know about him?" "When he arrived two days ago he came directly to your room telling us that he knew you and he has stayed here until you wake up" He explained to me while he stroked his long beard "Take me where he is" He nodded while he walked a little more hurriedly with his cane.

There I saw him with a totally clean face, elegant clothes and a neat and formal hair, that was him, Jax. I couldn't help but smile when I saw Eva in his arms, I walked up to him and said "It's been a while Jax" When he looked at me his face was about to fill with tears he wanted to hug me, but I refused.

"I understand, let's move to a more private place." His face distorted for a second from sadness, then he invited me in, "Have a seat." When he sat down, I sat as far away from him as possible.

"How did you find me?" I asked, "You remember your system map, don't you? Well I have one too, but you could say it's more special it's called [Locator] its effect is that the person I assign this ability to I can know their location all the time, I can only assign this ability to one person and I assigned it to you before everything happened" With one of my doubts answered I continued to ask "So why did you just move farther and farther away?" I stared at him, and he sighed, "I was afraid.... On my map there is only one blue dot all the time, maybe that blue dot could have been your dead body lying inert on the ground or being dragged by the animals, or you could have been a prisoner, I didn't know what to do, please understand me".

 "Understand you? Understand you when you didn't tell us anything? Understand you when I'm the only fucking one alive out of all those guards! Understand you when you had those kids in your trailer!" I got up from my chair, put both my hands on the table and started yelling at Jax, and he spoke up, "I didn't have a choice!" "You had a choice!!!" I was starting to dribble saliva out of my mouth from speaking in such a high-pitched voice, "Tell me then!!!" He also started to do the same as I did, "You could have told us the TRUTH!!!" I said pointing at him, "If I had told, you would have taken Eva when you are just a BIG PIECE OF WALKING MEAT!!!" When I heard that, I slammed the table and smashed it as I walked up to him.

"And what makes me sure you wouldn't have done the same with Eva, mhm?" I stared at him "I could have walked away or done what you say, but I'm here that's enough" I was quiet for a moment and thought about his words then I spoke again.

 "You may be right I may be just a big piece of walking meat, but I just ask you something please..... Stop what you are doing now get her a mother educate her, and please don't talk to her about me" His face was shocked "What why?" then I spoke ignoring him. "But if you do the same to Eva I will chase you to the deepest corners of this continent and even beyond I will make you suffer I will make you unable to live your miserable life in peace you will suffer for eternity until you die, understood, no?"

 He did not tremble he looked firm even as if he was willing and even as much more as if my threat had been useless "You have changed... but I assure you one thing I will take care of it".

I hugged him "Thank you" I said with a broken voice almost crying "Calm down you don't have to leave yet, but you still don't answer me why you don't want me to tell her about you if you were the one who saved her" I made a big sigh {Because I'm pathetic} that's what I wanted to tell him, but I opted for something else "Just don't do it." "I'm not promising anything." Jax replied I didn't feel angry, I felt very grateful if he would talk about me to Eva, I feel that I don't say what I feel because of my pride or because of my former life where you could not show your feelings without mockery but, with Jax at least I can do it a little.
