Chapter 41

When Alex went out with doctor Henry, Amber stood up, and with the Alpha's permission, she ran up the stairs to meet Malia. Judging by the Alpha's relaxed and calm face, Amber could tell that Malia chose to keep the babies.

Daniel looked at her run crazily, and he could only shake his head. The moon goddess really did choose a crazy one for him. The other two men felt the same way and could only smile and shake their heads.

Together with Alex, Daniel escorted the doctor to the elevator. As the door closed, doctor Henry bowed as a show of respect to the Alpha.

"How was it?" Daniel asked

"Seems like your mate is smarter than you in many aspects. She could tell how it went. Couldn't you pick from her excitement?"

Daniel had already guessed everything was good, but he wanted it to come from his Alpha. "One may think that she was Luna's mate and not you. Look at how she ran up the stairs like her feet were on fire. How funny.?

The two men were both happy because of the bond that their mates shared, and it would be weird if, after everything they had been through together as best friends their mates did not like each other.

"I am still surprised that you have two pups on the way. I don't remember anyone having twins before. So our Luna is quite a fertile one then." After saying the last statement, Daniel realized how it sounded and looked at his Alpha with pleading eyes as if to apologize.

Yes, it did sound weird coming from his Beta, but Alex was more than happy to let it go. But, of course, he is the Alpha, and everything good deserves to be his, even a much more fertile mate.

After the Alpha sat down, Daniel's stance changed from a playful one to a more serious one, and Alex felt it too. "Cross called," Daniel stated

"Is it as we suspected?" Alex asked casually."Judging by how he had put it, it's much more than what we had predicted," Daniel reported briefly.

"Any specifics?" Daniel's statement got Alex really good

"Lawson is on the move, and his wagon pulled the hunters in too"

"That was a quick one for a dog wagging its tail earlier. Seems like it wasn't because of pain but because it saw a bone."

Alex was not surprised about the union of the hunters and Lawson. It was stupid on their part to work with someone whom they had blacklisted. It was like starting a fire secretly. The smoke would definitely tell on you.

"He is quite brave for going at Breckett's door," Daniel commented. He, just like everyone else, had thought that Lawson would have hidden his face longer, but the man doesn't take shit lying down

"I give him that for his bravery, but he wouldn't know that he chose the wrong team if no one reminded him," The evil Alpha spoke. It seems like the slap that he threw Lawson's way didn't burn enough to shut him. He needed to have thrown a punch

"For someone as despicable as Lawson, it would take more than exposing his dirty laundry in public to get rid of him," Daniel tried to remind his Alpha

A lot was exposed about Lawson on the internet, and even though most of the things shown on the internet were often rumors, Arnold had attached every possible evidence to shut the man down, but he wasn't going to be gone that easily.

"It seems like the netizens were not making that much noise to peep Lawson home" Daniel was angry.

"Should we blow the trumpet louder" Alex smirked evenly

"Now that there is my language. Allow me to make the call. Seems like Arnold was really lenient, seeing that the man even dares to dress in white when leaving home. I will make sure that black is the only color that he wears.

The hunters really disappointed Alex this time. Unknown to them, the Alpha wanted to find the trail back to them, and thanks to the foolish Lawson, the deception was traced to the Beckett doorstep. Nevertheless, he was still thankful for the man's stupidity; at least something productive came out of it.

"Is it alright if I live here, really? Won't I be a burden to Mr. Ford?" The two men looked up when they heard the voice of Malia asking the question.

Daniel turned to look at Alex and winked. Amber tried to comfort her by telling her that Mr. Ford was a really good person and that he would be willing to have her live in his house.

Alex was grateful to her, and as he prepared his words, he saw them slope visibly down the stairs. Amber was holding Malia's hand as she helped her slope down.

The two girls were started when they looked up simultaneously and found two sets of eyes on them. It was so natural, and they each smiled at the two men.

Amber naturally led Malia towards the Alpha, who held her hand and pulled her to sit close to him. She then went over to sit next to Daniel, who also opened his arms and hugged her. Next, she wrapped her arms around his torso and rubbed her head on him softly, making him kiss her hair.

It was a beautiful sight for the Alpha and his mate. Malia smiled at them. It was lovely to know that something so intimate could come naturally to the two people. But, on the other hand, Alex wondered when he could be like that too.

For the fairness of it, though, he was still grateful that he could sit close to her even though she wasn't lying in his arms like Amber was in Daniel's.

And just like that, it was already dinner time. The chef came to call them for dinner, and Alex had prepared himself to talk to Malia later, hoping that she would be comfortable with him and live freely in his home. The house naturally belonged to both of them, but she didn't know that.
