Current situation?

"Honey come! the food is served and it's on the table" said Mrs. Stainton as she asked. We start eating ahead, we didn't really wanted the food to turn cold. Mrs. Stainton really didn't mind she just stared at us eating with a smile. A couple of minutes later Mr. Stainton sat down "Sweetheart, I'm sorry I didn't come to the table earlier, but I needed to finish those plans before I can present them to the. Everything needs to be done by hand, and hope that it works, what pain that is... Boys aren't you guys bored without your internet and smartphones, it's a hassle isn't it?." expressing his frustration for the current situation.

John really didn't care about those things because he couldn't afford them. He really didn't have a smartphone or a computer. He only enjoyed those things when he was with Percy. When he was with the Montagues, it was just technically a prison. They certainly wouldn't accommodate expensive modern commodities to him. 'For a person my age, there truly wasn't anything to do' thought John. "Dad you know they will fix those things soon right... It is just a matter of time the mayor said that" said Percival maybe in a couple months.

"Well maybe, but don't be naive, the mayor did said that. But... Let's face it he seem to have said that to appease the townsfolk and not cause unrest!" said Mr. Stainton with uncertainty about their current situation.

"Mr. Stainton what do you think is going on out there? We got those packs of wild animals attacking our town, and that big tree sitting in the Horizon" said John curious as to how Mr. Stainton would answer. Mr. Stainton took a moment to think things through "As far as I know, the mayor is doing what he can for his citizens. He has lost all contact with the main governmental body, his next plans are to fix and rebuild the infrastructure and tell the farmer to start preparing new plots of lands. Now that you seem interested in the currents affairs of the town, I want you guys to know what's going on, since you guys are almost adults, but I don't want you telling your friends around what I said as most of it is speculative" said Mr. Stainton since it's better for these kids to know than to leave them unaware of the circumstances.

John respectfully replied to Mr. Stainton "Sir, you have nothing to worry we won't tell anyone. It will stay in this house. As for what is going, I believe I have a solid idea of what's going on, it's probably more severe than you guys think. If I were to tell that magic and sorcery is now a possibility would you believe me?" said John with a lot of confidence.

Mr. Stainton started laughing misunderstanding John's intention "Quite humorous John! You probably saw those guards wearing armor and swords in town and thought that. The reason why they are currently doing that is because guns have been rendered useless and they need to defend themselves from those beast you were talking about if they ever attack again. There are rumors saying that the gunpowder used for the mechanism have turned too volatile and the reason for that is unknown at the moment, but that was probably a just factory mistake. This world is the natural world and not some kind of Dungeon and Dragons world you guys play on your free time. The only explanation for what is going on is terrorists, those earthquakes and aftershock that occurred was because they had nuked some city far away. As for that tree out there is just probably a bio-weapon of some kind and those beast is probably an engineered virus that give animals rabbies. It's a little disappointing that the people that fought off those beast are staying quiet, I heard that the Mayor is currently silencing them. Anyways... the conversation was great and I have to go back to do my work. Work is not going to be done by itself!" Mr. Stainton went back to the room he was working at continued to do whatever he was doing. 'What a disappointment, I guess no matter what I tell him, it is not going to help and showing him right now is too drastic and might come out as a shock' John thought as the whole conversation was going on.

'This Percival has always been a slow eater. He takes his time savoring what he is eating' thought John as he watches Percy struggling with his food wishing he would hurry up. 'I had finished my plate a long time ago... I might as well go clean the plates!' though John and quickly stood up and went to clean his dishes at the sink. "John, please don't! you're a guest here, leave the plate on the table" Mrs. Stainton said already knowing his intention and stopping him from cleaning the dishes. Despite her attempt, that didn't stop him from actually cleaning his plate, for him cleaning the dishes was a way to show a little bit of gratitude to Mrs. and Mr. Stainton, they have always treated him too good. "Mrs. Stainton don't worry I'll clean the dishes! I have to say that the food was amazing like always, You're such a good cook!" said John smiling while he was cleaning the dishes, intending to flatter Mrs. Stainton.

Mrs. Stainton baited by John's flattery and looked at Percy with disappointment "Oh Percy! If you were more like John." and sighed. Then looked at John direction "Thank you John for cleaning the dishes you really didn't have to do it, but I appreciated." and continued eating her food... John looked at Percy with a weird grin on his face, he had baited this situation on purpose. Percy looked at John with disgust all over his face, he finished eating his plate and left it on the sink.

"Let's go outside and hangout!" said Percy as he started walking toward the the door. "Percy make sure that you are back before sunset, it gets pretty dark at night!" Mrs. Stainton yelled as they went out the door.

'I wonder what the mayor is planning to do and how much he knows of the current situation... It's a pity that he doesn't know anyone working closely with the Mayor, but he knows that the Mayor doesn't consider Percy's dad as one of his confidants' John was lost in though, while walking behind Percy.
