45 - One Sided Beating

Everyone turned to Mira who had pointed in a certain direction before running after it, everyone looked at each other before following.

Mira was fast but unfortunately she had to stay within ten metres of Ling, so she couldn't run at her full speed.

But luckily the thing they were chasing was about the same speed as them.

It wasn't long before before they existed the core area of the slugs Territory, it was at this moment Mira got a clear look at what they were chasing.

"A rat?" Mira said with a confused face before turning to Ling to see if she knew what it is.

"I've never seen or heard about that thing before, there shouldn't be anything like that in this area." Ling explained as she kept the same speed as Lidia.

It was at this time that another team yelled out to everyone.

"There's another one over there!" Hearing this Ling looked over and saw something larger than the rat run away.

They followed the two unknowns through the forest past hundreds of Poison Slugs, went so of the party's stopped to kill for points.

Slowly their number decreased the more Slugs they passed, till it was only Ling's and Chang Heng's party left chasing.

They soon existed the Slug Territory only to find a camp? Yes a small camp site was set up.

Slowing down they approached the camp, only to find that no one was there, but it clearly was being used as there was sighs of use.

Moving through the camp Ling checked it for any information, there was one tent for one with a sleeping bag.

Overall it was a very well put together Camp, which suprised Mira who had some knowledge in this area from her father.

But they didn't find what they were looking for, so they split up for further search.

Mira checked the ground for tracks before finding three pairs of footprints, one belonged to a large rodent, the second and the largest was human shoe tracks, as for the last they were unrecognisable to Mira.

"What area are we in?" Mira looked up from the ground and asked Ling.

"We should be in the slimes territory, but I haven't seen any around here." Ling checked her map and found their approximate location.

"So not only is the poison Slugs missing but also the slimes." Lidia said with worry on her face.

On the other hand Noah was standing next to Mira while looking around for threats.

But Chris he wasn't helping the group or doing anything important, instead he was searching through the camp looking for food for himself.

It was at this time the camp's owner came back, only to find five people walking around his camp, there was even one eating his food.

Hearing someone coming Mira looked over as she signaled everyone else.

"Why are you touching my stuff." A cold emotionless voice spread, Lidia could have sworn she felt a cold shiver upon hearing that cold tone.

"Victor?" Mira slightly exclaimed upon finding out who it was.

"I'll only say it one more time, Why are you touching my stuff." Victor's cold voice spread once more.

"Huh? We aren't touching your stuff, you see we are looking for the source.." Ling tried to explain but was interrupted by Victor lifting his arm up and pointing forwards.

"So you say your not but your eating my food and taking my loot." Victor's voice got even colder, Ling could've sworn that the air got colder.

Everyone turned around following Victor's finger, Ling, Mira and Lidia's face turned red in embarrassment, while Noah just scratched the back of his head.

Chris was the cause of this, for some reason he had the thought that he had the right to take what he wanted from the clearly owned camp.

Not only had he helped himself to the food and water in the camp, but he was now rummaging through all of the monster loot Victor had accumulated during the exam.

"CHRIS WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!" Mira yelled at Chris, who only then realised that Victor had appeared.

"What I'm scavenging from this abounded camp." Chris waved off Mira's and the others worrys.

"Abounded you say?" Victor's emotionless eye's flickered changing colour to a white cold blue only for a quick second.

"After all we don't know if it's really yours do we." Chris responded with a high look on his face, in his mind it didn't matter if Victor had a Legendary class, as it was 5 against 1.

Little did he know Ling and Mira didn't want any smoke with Victor, as they wanted to befriend him instead.

Chris didn't want to give up any of the loot he had found, as not only was there so much but it was also of a high quality for them.

But did the thought of how Victor who was clearly by himself get all this loot, no it never cross his mind.

"So you want to steal my property?" Victor asked for confirmation one last time.

"He finders keepers, so get out of here." Chris smiled as he felt on top of the world, not only was he above the top genius of Flora City, in his mind Victor couldn't do anything to him, so he stood right in front of Victor.

But he completely missed calculated, as he was actually by all himself, but he didn't account for the fact Victor was the tallest here, a full head over him.

"Chris what are you doing?" Ling asked as her face darkened.

Meanwhile not too far from Victor's location Michael was walking around killing monsters before he paused and looked over to his right.

"Hmm... This feeling.. heh it would seem I'm needed elsewhere." Michael smiled before leaving the monster alone and walking away.

Chris seeing he was shorter than Victor got angry so he tried to grab Victor to pull him down.

Only for Victor to be like a leaf in the air and dodge him without haste.

"You know I spent my entire life creating my own way of fighting that was based on speed, precision and dexterity. But now I am a mage class it is no longer of any use, all those years of slowly perfecting it has gone too waste." Victor distanced himself from Chris as he spoke.

"But it doesn't matter I'll just adapt to my situation but even still, going from constantly moving to having to stand still to case a spell is hard getting used to." The staff in Victor's hand disappeared, as Victor stretched his neck making a popping sound.

"So I'll just have to get this feeling out." Victor slowly slid his right foot to the right as his left turned to face Chris, Victor's left hand was raised while his right stayed by his side.

"Huh? You want to fight me? Haha I didn't know that you were stupid, I guess all the hype about you is exaggerated, if so I'll show you your place." Chris smirked before charging forwards and punching at Victor's face.

Victor stomped the ground with his left foot before using that force to spin around on the spot, as the first missed him.

Using this opportunity Victor sent a hash elbow to the joint in Chris's out stretched arm.

Victor created distance as his eyes narrowed, his attack didn't achieve the desired affect, it was meant to disable the arm for a hour or two.

But instead it only cases Chris's arm to shake in pain and make it harder to move.

"Ahh, you mother.." Chris grabbed his arm and yelled in pain but he was interrupted by a roundhouse kick that he had to block.

Feeling pain in Chris didn't register the next attack as Victor performed a Drop kick straight down onto his head.

Chris backed up as he tried to steady himself, upon realising that he had just been hit not once but three times by a mage class, sent him over the edge.

= Iron Fist =

Chris's hand glowed in a soft grey light as he punch forwards towards Victor's chest.

But he had over extended himself, Victor used the back of his hand to deflect the punch.

While Chris was still off his balance, Victor grabbed the now harmless punch and pull him forwards towards him.

Before following with a palm strike to his chin pushing his head up, then he started a barrage of punches to his chest and stomach.

"One two three four and five." Victor counted each successful strike to his body, before finishing the combo with a quick kick to the side of his head knocking him out.

Ling, Mira and Lidia watch on in shock as Victor took down Chris.

"Your technique is terrible, even with less strength, speed and not having a warrior skill you still can't beat me. Your attitude isn't the only thing that needs work." Victor shook his head before looking over to the other 4.

"So are you also stealing my stuff?" Victor asked once more, to know their stance.

"Umm no we didn't want to do anything like that from the beginning." Ling explained their side of this.

"Alright it's water under the bridge." Victor nodded, although he was confident he knew he wouldn't win against four people at the same time.

Plus Victor didn't feel emotions so how could they get in the way of his judgement at this time, and he wasn't someone unreasonable.

His staff appeared in his hand again before he tapped it on the ground as he summoned his weak skeletons.

"Skeletons?" Mira said in shock upon seeing the skeletons appear.

Victor controlled them to start packing up his camp and things, Ling watched on in interest as the skeletons easily worked together to pack up his things.

But what she saw next shocked her, as after the packed up item were brought over to Victor he grabbed a item before it disappeared.

"Storage ring." Ling recognised it at but a glance, she believed that no one in Flora City had one, but now see not only saw that Victor had one but must be of a high quality to store that much.

Victor didn't care for any of this as he called for his other Summons to come back to him, as he wanted to hunt a certain monster before the exam ended.

But right then Chang Heng and his party came back upon the scene.
