Belgrave (2)

Thousands of Soldiers rushed out of the eastern gate of Belgrave. They all cheered as they ran to the mouth of the mountain range. At the front was Captain of the City Guards, with the main infantry behind him. In the rear was the wizard regiment, alongside them was Silver Thread.

*Boom* *Boom* *Boom*

Explosions rang out when the wizards from back started to shoot fireballs towards the demon beasts. Multiple demon beasts started to die as more and more fireballs fell from the sky.

The Captain was at the front of the line with a longsword in hand,

"Charge!"

Thousands of soldiers screamed as they rushed forward at the demon beasts only one-hundred meters in front of them. Behind the infantry bowmen started to rain down arrows on the horde of demons.

*Ping* *Ping*

Unfortunately, their arrows did little to nothing against the Rank 2 demon beasts, but killed most of the Rank 1's. As soon as the front line reached the beasts did the real battle begin.

"Ah!"

Explosions rang out as more fireballs descended from the sky. Soldiers at the front were being ripped about by the Rank 2 Demon beasts. They stood no chance against such a strong enemy.

The Captain of the City Guards was in the middle of the action, killing anything he could. Blood soaked his armor as time went on. Qi Hai also joined the fight, swinging his axes around.

Many of the soldiers saw the two slaughtering the demon beasts, which motivated them to push forward even harder.

"Wizards! Target the right side! They are trying to encircle our troops!"

*Boom*

One by one, the wizards in the back of the army started to run out of mana. Only the three Rank 1's and the Rank 2 wizard still had enough to keep fighting. Everyone else took out their short swords and rushed forward to join the battle.

"Roar!"

A loud roar sounded from the middle of the pack. After the roar, multiple ball objects started to fall out of the sky. Once they hit the ground, explosions erupted.

*Boom*

Each time one of the black objects hit the ground, hundreds of soldiers died in an instant. As time went on, more and more soldiers were vaporized by the black objects falling from the sky.

Far away, on top of the eastern gate of Belgrave stood two people. One was a youth wearing a black cloak, while the other was Zou Belgrave.

"Old man, are you really going to try and fight in your condition? Are you asking for death?"

The youth looked at Belgrave with a weird expression.

"Haha… Old man? I might be dying, but I'm not old."

Belgrave looked at the youth in the cloak and couldn't help but smirk.

"You're strong… Are you willing to help me out?"

Without any hesitation the youth declined Belgrave, this slightly angered Belgrave, but he understood. The youth is right, this isn't a battle I will be coming back from. Why should I ask him to give away his life for me?

"Since you're not going to help me, could you do me a favor?"

"Sure."

"When I die, can you look after this place for me?"

The youth thought for a minute before replying,

"I alone will not be enough to destroy that large demon horde."

Belgrave frowned,

"We both know that is lie…"

The youth just shrugged his shoulders.

"Belgrave, I'll do half of your favor. I will stay here for a couple of years to watch over the place."

Belgrave knew what the youth meant, he wasn't going to help with the demon beasts but he would stay after it's all over.

Belgrave nodded,

"Alrighty, I'll be off then!"

Belgrave launched into the sky towards the raging battle ahead. Leaving the youth in the black cloak on the eastern gate.

*Boom!*

A large blue orb flew from the sky, smashing into the left side of the horde of demons, killing them instantly. As more demons died, more came from all over the mountain.

Belgrave stood in the sky looking down at the battle, from the skies he could clearly see how the battle was turning out. His soldiers were dying by the hundreds, while the demon beasts just kept coming.

With the flick of his hand, Belgrave sent multiple blue orbs into the attacking Demon Beasts. With each blue orb he sent a shock of pain would follow.

After launching tens of blue orbs, blood started to trickle from his mouth.

Not yet, I need to do a little more.

Belgrave flew a little higher into the air and started to grow a large red ball in his hands. As time went by the red orb started to get bigger and bigger.

Back on the eastern gate of Belgrave the youth in the cloak looked at the battle.

Old man… you really are stupid.

The youth in the cloak jumped into the air and proceeded to fly towards belgrave.

As the red orb in Belgrave's hand grew, more and more blood started to flow out of his body. His eyes started to bleed along with his ears, Belgrave screamed in pain as he released the orb towards the horde.

As the world started to turn black, he heard the loud explosion of the orb hitting the demon horde.

Ah… I guess this is the end.

Belgrave without any mana left and his life hanging on by a thread fell out of the sky.

*Thud*

The youth in the black cloak hovered over Belgrave's body. The youth didn't have any emotion on his face. He just looked at the smashed body of Belgrave below him.

In Front of the youth were still thousands of Demon Beasts, but he wasn't worried about them in the slightest. After a couple more seconds of staring at Belgrave, did the youth land on the ground.

Belgrave… Belgrave… You sacrificed your life for a mere 100,000 people… Shame.

Back on the battlefield, Of the three thousand soldiers sent, only a third of them remained. After the red orb that Belgrave launched as his final attack only the strong demon beasts remained.

The Captain of the City Guards was severely wounded along with Qi Hai. They both laid unconscious on the ground as the demon beasts ran past them. Only minutes after Belgrave died did the rest of the army perish as well.

Unknown to the citizens of Belgrave, The three-thousand men sent out to deal with the Demon Beasts have all died. Many of the citizens were still celebrating the seventh year anniversary of Belgrave.

After the Demon Beasts wiped out all of the soldiers, they rushed forward and max speed toward the Town of Belgrave. Once they reached the outer walls, multiple explosions sounded.

The eastern wall was instantly destroyed, on the otherside citizens started to run in all directions. The Demon beasts rushed into the town killing anything and everything in their path.

Women and children tried to hide in their houses, but the houses were smashed into the ground. Blood filled the air as the 100,000 citizens were massacred, they were completely defenseless.

In the sky above Belgrave, the youth in the black cloak just watched as everyone in Belgrave was killed. He stood emotionless, as everyone died in front of him.
