"Arianell, what are you doing here? Are you waiting for someone?" Asher asked when he found her standing on the pier alone.
"No… I was seeing my friend off…" She answered honestly.
"Ah, did someone leave on the trip?" The crown prince was interested.
"Actually… Jaya left for her hometown…" She still wondered what it meant to cover for her, but since she was already gone, there was no need for Arianell to hide anything.
Asher looked like he was struck by thunder. His eyes were moving between her and the ship that was almost invisible already when he finally understood her meaning.
"Will she come back?" His thoughts were all over the place, but he remained calm. Years of training to keep his face expressionless when dealing with nobles finally paid off.
"Yes, after a month or maybe longer…" She told him.
