In the mysterious realm of Kalvon, where shadows whispered tales of Kings and Queens, none were as infamous as King Jetaime. Whispers echoed through the cobblestone corridors and darkened chambers of the palace, painting a macabre portrait of a heartless sovereign scarred by the cruelty of fate. His legs, so the tales spun, were lifeless appendages, and his face, a grotesque canvas of boils. His was a visage that struck terror into the hearts of those who dared imagine it. Yet, destiny took an unforeseen turn on the eve of a grand wedding night. Princess Jaelyn, cursed and hidden away within the confines of Malavon Castle, was the unwilling pawn in a malevolent game of power. Her name, synonymous with evil, and her every step marked by the devil's touch. However, as she stepped into the grand hall to meet her monstrous groom, a man emerged before her, shattering the grotesque image painted by gossip. King Jetaime stood not as the rumored monster, but as a vision of unexpected sweetness, love, and undeniable handsomeness. The discrepancy between the tales and the reality sparked a whispered question in the minds of those who witnessed this surreal union — had she unwittingly married an imposter, or were the rumors nothing more than twisted fragments of a darker imagination? As King Jetaime and Princess Jaelyn embarked on their tumultuous journey, the chessboard of power and revenge unfolded. Locked in a dance of secrets and hidden motives, the two found themselves entangled in a love that defied the expectations set by the world. The King, who had never allowed anyone close, now placed his heart willingly in her hands. Princess Jaelyn, driven by the flames of vengeance, found an unexpected ally in the man she was supposed to despise. Together, they navigated the treacherous waters of courtly politics, facing a power struggle fueled by conspiracies that threatened to tear them apart. In the battle between love and destiny, the question lingered like an ethereal mist — was their connection a mere human maneuver or a divinely fated love? As the story unfolded, the narrative wove a tapestry of twists and turns, challenging the very essence of their existence. Could love truly conquer all things, or were some cases destined to be eternally hopeless? Two empty hearts, two lives devoid of love, collided in a dance of darkness and light. A monster king and an evil queen united to become one, their journey unfurling like a forbidden scroll. The world watched with bated breath as the saga unfolded — a tale of love, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of a destiny that defied the predetermined life. Cover by Java graphics.
Queen Lyn sits in front of the mirror as the maids do her hair, King Jetaime had arranged a whole room full of new clothes and pieces of jewelry made by the best designers in the land, he made she wouldn't luck anything. Everything she could ever need and more was in there.
"What will you like to wear, my queen?" Pana, her new favorite maid asks as she shows her options to choose from.
"Why are all the dresses black, or has more black in them?" another maid asked as Pana tries to silence her.
"Because the king can't stand bright colors, do you want him to be irritated when he sees the queen?" Pana reproaches her then turns to face the queen with a smiling face.
"But…" the other maid try to argue back when Lyn interrupted her. "The middle one," Lyn said, she couldn't take her eyes off the dress. A stunning gown with fitting long sleeve allover leaf-patterned embellishment, a plunging illusion v-neckline, and an elegant train.
"Excellent choice my queen, this will look great on you. Not only will it make your presence and power known to all but will also be easy on the king's eyes," Pana smiles, she orders the other maids to return the other clothes in place.
"Careful, those dresses cost a fortune," she reminded as she set the chosen dress gently on the bed.
"My queen, do you like your hair?" the maid fixing her hair asked leaning close to her. "Yes," Lyn said walking to the bed.
She puts on her gown with the help of the maids and stands in front of the mirror admiring her own beauty, she couldn't believe it was her in the mirror as side a part of her whispering Oaklyn in her ears. She could only see her sister in her reflection. The maids continue to sing praises of how gorgeous she was looking.
She couldn't help but remember Moesha, she wonders how she was doing and if the people of Zalvon were trying her right. "I need to find a chance and beg the king again to let her stay with me," she whispered to herself as a gentle smile appeared on her face.
Pana can't stop talking she is like a bird that never stops once she starts. That is the difference between her and Moesha, she actually knows when to stop. Queen Lyn held her stomach when it started growling, she hasn't eaten her breakfast yet.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door, "This way," Pana ordered the maids, and they line up a set of varieties of Malavon dishes for the queen on the table. Queen Lyn's stomach growls more, this time louder and she was sure the maids heard it. She licks her lips when she saw the food.
"We will leave you alone, to eat comfortably. Please call us if you need anything," Pana said with the rest of the maids following her out. Lyn was glad at least she wouldn't get to hold back while eating like a princess.
She started eating a bit of everything served on the table and before she realized she has finished everything. She poured herself a glass of juice and enjoy her moment alone, it was short though.
There was a knock and the maids walk in again, "what now!" she hissed. "We are here for the plates and…" Pana halts when she saw all the plates were empty, "I was really really hungry," Lyn said in her defense.
"It's good to know the queen eats well, that way your body will be in perfect shape to carry an heir," Madam Yin rumbles as she walks in with a smile. "What does it want now?" Lyn thought as she frown, she was full and wanted to be left alone so she can have some good sleep.
"Please come with me," Madam Yina mumbles as Lyn holds her dress tight, wondering what she was playing to do with her. 'Did she find out the truth?' 'Does she want to…to…' 'No.. no that's not possible,' millions of things run through Lyn's head.
"My queen, don't think too much. It's your first day after marriage so you need to follow the protocols, since the king's mother is not alive, you will have to pay respect to the other consorts in the palace." Madam Yina explains.
"hm," Lyn sighed as she let go of her dress ready to follow Madam Yina. "Hello, there my favorite sister-in-law." a loud voice said as she makes her way into the chamber of the queen.
"Demelza," Lyn grins when she saw her, at least she is comfortable around her. "It seems you had a great night," Demelza teases her, Lyn makes a smiley face at her.
"Alright, alright here is too crowded we will talk about this later, I can see you are on your way to pay your respect to the consorts, I would have accompanied you but unfortunately I can't stand either of them so bye, catch later," Demelza mumbles rolling her eyes.
"Hmmm," Madam Yin hums making her presence known but Demelza still didn't care and spoke her mind.
"Can I not go?" Lyn asked with a sad face. "My queen, you can't skip this. Demelza you have been in the palace for so long please explain this to the queen how important this is," Madam Yin requested.
"You can tell them the queen is not feeling well and no one will question her. She is the queen of this land and holds the utmost power aside from the king," Demelza says raising an eyebrow.
"You're impossible, I wonder why I asked for your help in the first place, I will have to speak to the king then," Madam Yina threaten.
"aarrh, Madam Yina, I will come with you," Lyn agreed when she tried to involve the king, Lyn wish to see less of him if possible he can be charming and all that but when his orders are flouted he is a whole new monster.
"Good luck, Lyn," Demelza teases, she knows she will need it. Those consorts are bitter and annoying to deal with. Lyn and the rest of the maids follows Madam Yina to greet the consorts.
Moesha manages to get past the guards and enters the maid palace in search of Jaelyn, she didn't care about her own life as long as she gets to serve her master. She mistakenly runs into Consort Suva and created a big mess.
"I'm sorry," she said without looking at the person she run into and walks away.
"How dare you!" Consort Suva growls at her. "Don't be picky, I already said sorry," Moesha protested. "You loutish dirty rag," Consort Suva's handmaiden howls as she raises her hand to hit Moesha, it's true she is ill-mannered but she has learned to defend herself. She holds the maid's hand halfway and pushes her away enraging Consort Suva.
"Guards!!" she calls out and immediately the palace guards surround the maid. "Shhh, people of Zalvon are really something else," Moesha chuckles.
"Arrest this maid!" she yells and Moesha was seized by the guards almost immediately. "I will show you how to respect, bring her to my quarters." She orders then turns her back to leave, her handmaiden returning to give Moesha a slap before following her master. She felt satisfied after slapping her.
Moesha was forcefully dragged behind them.
