The Merchant

Is your brother sick? I have the cure. Radiation? It's not a problem. Magic? Shh, don't tell anyone. Bubbly black drink? It's called Coke. Gold? Ahh I have tons of it. Luck was an unemployed loser who only knew how to play games. One day, while playing on his computer, Luck was exposed to solar energy and gained a mysterious power that allowed him to travel to and from another world. The other world he could travel to was a world where monsters roamed, kingdoms and empires existed, and a force called mana gave people superhuman powers. By traveling back and forth between these two worlds, Luck will enjoy being a merchant, carrying goods and trading between the two worlds, and making money by using the advantages of both worlds.

What is this drink?

Arriving at his vantage point, Luck was relieved to see the familiar surroundings.

"It's lucky I showed up here." He muttered.

"What did you say, sir?"

Startled by someone talking next to him, Luck turned his head to see Trader Halt's secretary.

"Nothing hahaha." He scratched his head.

"Out of the corner of his eye, Luck saw the sun shining brightly overhead.

"What time is it now?"

"Time?" The secretary looked confused.

"I'd have to go to the clock in the square and check, but..." He poked his head out "The sun seems to be at its zenith hmmm it must be noon or something like that."

Looking at the watch on his wrist, Luck thought, 'Hmm, 12.13 o'clock should be almost the same as on Earth.

'In this world, time flows twice as fast as in my world, but from my world to this world time is like one-to-one.' Lost in his thoughts about the flow of time, Luck didn't even notice the arrival of Trader Halt.

When Trader Halt saw Luck looking at the small device on his wrist and thinking, he thought 'What is that thing on your wrist?

"Ahem. Mr. Luck."

Luck was surprised for a moment to see Halt the Merchant waiting beside him, but he quickly pulled himself together.

"Mr. Halt, how are you? I hope I got here just in time."

"Hahaha, I'm fine. Yes, you're right on time, let's talk inside."

Luck entered the office behind Halt and saw Horace waiting in the office.

"Hello, Mr. Luck."

"Hello, Mr. Horace."

After chatting with each other for a while, they got to the point.

Luck started to take out the spices and bags he had brought from his bag.

Halt took care of the clothes and the bag while Horace took care of the spices.

"Even though the spices are poor in mana, they are very good, Luck." Horace opened the plastic spice bags and filled them into the boxes he had brought with him.

"It's a pity that these things you call plastic bags are so pretty, but once they're torn, they're useless."

"I'm afraid so."

"Luck, is that bag on your back for sale too?"

Halt had stopped looking at the clothes and bags in front of him, but his eyes were now fixed on the bag on Luck's back.

"I'll sell it if you want it," he thought, "I'm not going to say no to money.

Luck put the snacks and drink in the backpack on the table and handed it to Halt.

"Luck, what's this stuff you're taking out?"

Horace's merchant instincts began to itch after seeing what was on the table.

"I didn't want to eat at the restaurant so I brought some snacks."

"I understand I was going to invite you to dinner, but if you don't want to go to the restaurant, we can eat here."

Halt told his secretary to order some food.

After the food arrived, the delicious aroma of the food made Luck's mouth water.

No one could resist the fragrant salad that came with the 3-star monster meats.

With his mouth full of meat, Luck said, "I could eat this meat every day, it's so delicious."

"Hahaha yes you are right Luck, the monster meat is delicious but don't skip the salad."

Halt took a fork from the salad "I had these herbs especially collected by adventurers, they grow in the lair of a 4-star monster, and they are worth at least 10 gold coins but worth every penny."

"Thirty gold coins?" Luck's salad, which he chewed with great appetite, was worth more than 150 thousand dollars.

'Oh my God, I'm eating a fortune,' he thought, but he didn't stop eating. 'Oh well, I'm not paying for it anyway.'

Looking at Luck's lean physique, Halt thought, 'Are they starving him?

Meanwhile, Horace's eyes were on the food packages and canister Luck had brought to the table. His merchant instincts were tickling, but he had a constipated expression as if he didn't know what to do.

Noticing Horace's expression, Luck opened the snack packs he had brought "Please eat some of this."

"I won't be polite if you let me." Horace was of course the first to try the snacks.

Biting into a chocolate wafer, Horace closed his eyes in pleasure. He quickly ate the wafer in his mouth and quickly popped another wafer into his mouth.

"Hey, behave, you fat bastard, leave some for me." When Halt saw Horace eating the wafers quickly, he realized that the wafers must be delicious.

Taking a bite of the chocolate wafer, Halt, like Horace, showed a satisfied expression and began to eat the wafers quickly.

Watching the two of them devouring the wafers, Luck was speechless and thought, 'It's just a wafer, is there any need to overdo it?

Turning to Halt's secretary next to them, he said, "Can you get us three glasses?"

Luck decided that it would not be appropriate for him to drink the drink in the can alone, so he decided to share the drink.

Horace and Halt had finished eating the waffles when the secretary nodded in agreement and walked away to get a glass.

"Luck, what was that food?"

"Yes, Luck, what was that food? I've never had anything so sweet and good before."

Looking at the empty wafer wrapper on the table, Luck seemed to wonder when the wafer was finished.

"This is called a chocolate wafer," Luck said as he picked up the empty wrapper. He shook the empty wrapper and wafer crumbs fell out.

Realizing that they hadn't left any wafers for Luck, the two blushed with embarrassment.

"Sorry Luck, we forgot to save some for you."

"Hahaha sorry Luck."

Waving his hand as if to say never mind, Luck opened the can with a hiss when the glasses he asked the secretary for arrived and poured the bubbling black liquid evenly into the metal glasses.

The two looked at the bubbling black liquid with strange eyes and seemed to be hesitating whether to drink it or not.

The black liquid looked like something from the black cauldron of witches.

Horace took one of the glasses and handed it to Halt, "Dude, I was the first one to taste the food earlier, so you go first this time." He said.

"No, no, you can drink first." He pushed the glass back to Horace.

Luck, meanwhile, took the first sip from his glass, looking displeased that it was lukewarm.

'It must taste bad'. Noticing Luck's expression, Halt pushed the glass back to Horace with even greater determination.

Horace looked at Luck out of the corner of his eye, noticing Halt's determination in pushing the glass back to him, and when he realized that Luck was drinking the black liquid, he hesitantly took a sip.

'If Luck is drinking it, what could be so bad?' he thought.

Horace hesitantly took a sip of the black liquid and froze for a moment. 'This taste... this feeling on my tongue, oh my god'.

Noticing Horace's expression, Halt thought, 'I knew that black liquid must taste bad' He thought.

But when he noticed that Horace then drank from his glass and reached for the other full glass, he realized something was wrong.

"Get your filthy hands off my glass."

Picking up his glass, Halt hid it as if he was holding something precious.

Taking his first sip of the black liquid, Halt's eyes widened in surprise and pleasure as he finished the black liquid in quick gulps.

"Luck what is this drink." Halt looked longingly at his empty glass "And do you have more of this drink?"
