A Different Type Of Gathering

"Where are you going?" Natasha asked Malachi as he moved down the stairs away from her and toward the door. He looked back at her.

"To Cameron's to meet with him and his father." Malachi said. "You know that I go there every Friday night." Of course she would forget. It wasn't like this was new or anything but she seemed to always forget about the places that he went and when. Did she not care at all? Not remember just once what he liked to do? Where he went?

"Do you really need to go?" She asked skeptically. "You're not just running out on me?"

"I go every Friday, and it's also with my father, you know that. I do need to go." Yes he was kind of running out on her but it wasn't a real excuse. He just needed space from her for the moment.

"Oh alright." She said. "I just seems like you have this distant air as of late." Well he didn't think that he had a close air with her, but perhaps he was being a bit more standoffish to her more lately.
