Chapter 1 : First Day

I headed towards the Myyrdin manor where I'll start my duties as the Magician's bodyguard. Everything is prepared my proper etiquette, stature, weapons, perfectly clean and polished gears and my armor is all set and so is my helmet. I was really hoping he is everything that I've heard of, however things weren't as such as true...

The Great Magician of the Kingdom of Gardancia, he is rumored to be the strongest of all Magicians upon this world of Gaia. The King himself has him as the honored guest a few times for saving the Princess and protecting the kingdom's territory. Many respected him however everything on my expectation changes as soon as knock the door of the Manor.

The door opened peeking out was a servant maid with a very cute bob hair "oh, you must be the knight who'll be coming" she open the door widely "please come in, Mr. Myyrdin is at his studies. I'll go inform him right away!" she then left rushing towards the stairs.

I glance around the room I see a lot of paintings, awards and foreign items around the room, My armor cling every time I move. It is hot inside but I'm a fully trained knight with experience of battle, I'm much aware of how I defend myself and my client...

I saw a photo of a man with grey hair and beside him was the King, I remember what his majesty told me days ago....

"you're task to become the Royal Magician's bodyguard! He is an arrogant man, if anything bad happens to him the Kingdom might shake in terror. do I make myself clear?!"

"yes your Majesty" I kneel in knights respect with my head down.

I was deemed the top of the ranks at the academy despite being an orphan, I trained and study so much for this very day. I had to impress his Majesty so I can be replace back to the Royal Knights not being a bodyguard, I'll just have to play things smooth till everything here is settled and satisfied.

"ah, you must be Johan Von Aegis" a voice of a man echoed from behind.

I quickly turn to see a grey haired man wearing such noble clothing, he has very seductive golden eyes like if you stared at them you'll fall deeply into a spell, however I was never infected through charms or looks of men.

"his majesty chose you since you're the most experience and best in the academy" the man said as he walk down the stairs "let me introduce myself" he put his hand on his chest then look straight at my position "I am Aiden Alexandrius Myyrdin, the Royal Magician and your client. I was the one requested his majesty to hire a bodyguard for me" he finished.

"his majesty always picks the best Milord" I spoke up as my voice murmur outside my helmet "I understand that you are important for the Kingdom's massess, you can command me whatever is necessary" finish as I kneel.

"good, with your etiquette, mannerism and caliber you'll serve me well" Aiden raise the level of his hands on his shoulders "however you'll do more than that."

Being curious I raise my head "and that is!" seeing the magician with a smirk on his face. The magician raise his eye brow "I would like you to do a list of my needs.." he then pulled out a scroll from his coat.

"I would like you by my side all the time keeping me company and protecting me from danger, Aside from that if any noble or commoner wish to hurt or insult me you'll be dealing with them mentally or brute force if it's necessary. I'll be commanding you anything that I wish for, am I making myself clear?"

"Yes Milord" I nodded looking down "I Johan Von Aegis shall be your sword and shield for as long as I'm in service" I vowed.

"good, your job starts now. Escort me to my carriage we're heading to the capital" Lord Aiden then pass by giving noticing him smirk as he pass by, I turn around as I follow him.

I escort Lord Aiden to his carriage sitting across him on the making sure he is well protected and away from the window. Soon we arrived at the Capital the Kingdom of Gardencia. It's just hours before I left the Kingdom now I just return seeing a lot of familiar streets, the carriage stops as it was in front of the castle entrance I get off the Carriage first as I help Mr. Myyrdin get down the carriage.

Now I'm waiting outside the Council room door, I glance at the familiar corridor I used to patrol back then times I scold a some newbies and the seniors teaching me the ropes of the castle. How very nostalgic coming back here after hours of leaving...

"oh, it's Johan!" a familiar echo the corrider then sounds of armor clinking and footsteps approaches.

I turn to see "General Clise" I saluted.

"no need to do that, Johan" General Clise wave his left hand "look at you, I just saw you leaving earlier the morning now I saw you here standing outside the Council room" he smiled.

General Clise Larcacius he wears blue platinum and holden silhoutte armor, a red cape that stretches to the bacl of his knees and he's around 40's brown hair a bit of white and green eyes, never married because of his Job, he's a War Hero the best of the Knights of Gardencia also my Mentor, he took me in after his Majesty King Gilbert gave me a last name. I was very grateful to their aid and what they've given to me and what made stand to as now.

I hold the back of my nape "lets just say my client is part of the Council" I said with a smile "he's the Kingdom's Royal Magician."

"oh, so you're his bodyguard" General Clise got surprised as he put his fingers on his mustache "be careful he's arrogant and likes girls, he is hard to guard at because of his stubborness. His last bodyguard quit due to his demands" he finish.

"I can tell, the first day I saw a list of his needs" I scoff shaking my head with a smirk "I really wish I'm back here working..."

General smiled giving me a headpat on my helmet "you've grown so much, you're like my own child, Johan" he said.

I feel being treated like a kid but it feels nice.

"you're still wearing that armor, it's pretty old fashioned" General Clise complimented "wait right here, I'll provide you with some new uniform so you can move properly" he then left rushing like crazy.

I felt a sweat drop seeing him ran like crazy, I don't blame him he's like a Father to me. I remember him treating me like a kid when he trying to spoil me and going easy on me on sword practice. I guess having me on his life must have lighten his spirits up...

I blink hearing the door beside me open, I stood straight seeing lord Aiden came out from the door. I approach him "hows the council Milord?" I asked.

"oh, pretty much the same discussing monarchy and business" Mr. Aiden said holding his forehead then let out a sigh then look back at me "lets head back to the manor, I would love to have tea and my book by my side" he then start walking.

I walked beside him as I check my surroundings, I glance at the window scenery of the roof I saw something shine. I just kept my helmet straight on the corridor "Milord, be prepared" I warned.

"oh, seems like assassins" Mr. Aiden said he smirk like not caring what happens "you have such keen eyes sight, glad I chose you on this job."

Feels like I'll be handling this in the end since I'm his bodyguard, but I'm curious since he's the strongest magician that can defend himself and bother hiring the likes of me...

As soon as enter the carriage and left the Kingdom I carefully scan the outside "you're so very serious about the situation" Mr. Aiden spoke up in a calm manner.

I turn to face him "of course, it is my cuty to protect you. Especially seeing someone very sketchy" I pointed.

"I heard rumors that you're General Clise's adopted child, is that true?" Mr. Aiden ask as he put his right palm on his cheek.

"it's true, however I still address him as General not calling him father or sort, lets just say I became accustomed calling him General" I answered honestly.

Well to be honest there are times General Clise ask me to call him Dad for a while, but even so I'm used calling him General when I was a kid.

"haha, I see I see! I remember seeing him buying jewelry and dressess the other day" Mr. Aiden brought up as he lean closer "does he has lover of sort?"

"ehehe, well... it's complicated" I became nervous.

"it's very strange of General Clise, whenever he's at the Council he's a very serious man. However at your case he's different..." Mr. Aiden gave out a very curious look like they're piercing through me.

"eh, what kind of different?" I asked

"you've been wearing that armor since morning but never showed your face, Johan" Mr. Aiden has gotten curious as he tried to reach towards my helmet.

All of a sudden the stopped I check to see a couple of men wearing hooded robes and bandana. Seems like the assassins I've spotted have already gotten ahead of us, I sigh seeing knives and low rank magicians, however I can sense there more than just couple of them around the area, maybe some snipers.

"Milord, I'll dispose of them" I jump out of the carriage as I raise my right arm to my right side "to me... weapon of the storm..!" hand sparks like lightning appearing from the lightning was a spear.

"that spear, a knight that summons long crystal like spear... there's no doubt..." the assassins feared back as soon I approach closer "it's the Tempest Knight! Johan Von Aegis!"

Sprint up in speed of lightning "summon the lightning, Judgement!" one quick slash sending the assassins hanging above the trees, I sweep my spear making things spark around me spin my spear then... "Judgement, brought forth the lightning!" making this move is like dancing spin around raise the spear up towards the sky the storm rumble the heavens it darkens the flashes of lightning flashes through my armor as I sway it towards the assassins.

"hm? three by the trees" mumble then Judgement move on its own piercing through the hearts of the enemy, hold my hand out as Judgement return to my palm. I took a glace around the area "seems like they're all small fries" I sigh deeply "I wish thy could have sent some of their best assassins, hm?"

I heard someone clapping I turn to see Mr. Aiden clapping both of his hands. "I'm impressed you took all those assassins within minutes. As expected of your skill Johan" he complimented.

I felt a bit blushy being praised inside my mind but I shook it off my head "thank you for your praise, milord" I thanked him.

"I took care of the low rank mages, they've been poorly trained" Mr. Aiden confirmed as he turn towards the fallen assassins and mages "seems like someone wanted me dead, but even so why sent low rank than higher up?" curiousity got him as he put his finger on his chin his robe touching the ground.

"too bad I didn't get to see you fight Milord" I said in a very stoic voice "hm?" then my eyes widen everything went slow "dammit, I let my guard down from the carriage" I quickly rush. On top of the carriage I saw an assassin was about to slash the magician from behind, everything sparks like lightning around me without thinking I pushed Mr. Aiden away as I took the hit tumble back because of the heavy armor.

"Johan?! Johan!!" Mr. Aiden shouted he rush towards me.

"hah, they called you the Tempest Knight for nothing" the assassin said "I guess you're nothing but a lame-wannabe-knight."

I felt surges around me the rumble of heaven's lightnings, my anger rises... now that pissess me off but...

"YOU BASTARD HURT MY DAUGTHER...!!" a familiar voice echoed from a distang all of sudden someone kick the assassin off the carriage roof, it slow down seeing a platinum blue armor with a large blue steel axe then start kicking the assassin like a crazy worried father.

"ugh... you didn't have to do that..." I groan holding my helmet I notice my helmet is damaged from the slash "oh man" I grunt removing the helmet, my black hair fell down my shoulders feeling the wind on my face.

"wait... You're a woman?!" Mr. Aiden exclaim pointing a finger.

I turn "eh? You just knew?!" I got surprised

"hahaha, this is hilarious!" General Clise laughed so hard while hauling up the assassins and low rank mages, he then put his axe down "I guess the name Johan is a bit muscular!"

"such beauty..." Mr. Aiden mumbled.
