Chapter 17. A Short Encounter

The knight and the other adventurer group went off from Kastalov to the bigger city called ''Karavosh''. Before the taking the comission, the knight went to the Odin's blacksmith and took back the deceased knight's armor which is far more better than plain iron armor he wore on last quest. He had paid 1gold and 20 silvers for the armor's repair and are now left with 1 gold and 35 silver coins.

[Evita:You looks like a real fantasy knight. If only you had a real sword.]

The two carriages went past the Kastalov forest and went deeper to the deep forest. The forest is dense with trees and has little sunlight reach to the ground. As they went deeper, the front carriage suddnely stopped and the back carriage stopped as well seeing the other carriage stopped moving. The silver haired knight with no helmet stepped out of the carriage.

''It seems like we're already meeting the guests'' the silver haired swordman spoke as he unsheathed his sword.

''Guests?'' a chuckled voice came from the darkness within the dense trees. ''You are the guests here. Not us''. Two figures swiftly went toward the swordman. **Clangg** the two daggers meet the long sword. The swordman blocked the attack decisively without sweating.

Alexa and the knight came out of the carriage after hearing the commotion. ''Hmph'' the two green hooded figures move swiftly back away and strikes again on the swordman. Alexa prepares to shoot the arrow however 3 more green figures emerged a few meters behind from Alexa. ''Watch out!'' the swordman yelled while blocking off the attack of the two green hooded figures in front of him. Just as the three green figures were about to attack Alexa from behind, A wall of flame surrounded the attacker.

''Tsk, still attacking even under my protection?'' A red haired woman stepped out of the carriage while holding a glass short staff. ''They have a mage! Quick!'' one of the green figure yelled. Four more green figures emerged and pounced toward the red haired mage however they were blew away after they hit the yellow barrier that was formed the moment they were in mid air. ''Shut up and run away before I turn you into charcoal. You're all noisy'' The woman said in annoyed expression.

[Evita:There are more than just 9 people. I've detected faint heat signals from those bushes over there. There's 6 more people hiding.]

''Wait'' A voice came from the front carriage. It was Keristen,the merchant that the adventuerers had to escort. She approached one of the green hooded firgues and handed over a seemingly a stone emblem covered in green mosses.

The green figure took it and checked it for a while before making a hand gesture toward the other green hooded figures. All of them stopped fighting and went back into the darkness within the deep forest.

The adventuerers were confused. The swordman was about to ask her what happened howver,''Alright we're good. Let's go'' Keristen said and then went back to tbe carriage. The swordman didn't try to ask and went back to the carriage. ''I don't know what you did but you should've done that sooner'' The mage said as she went inside the carriage. ''Apologies,I had to wait to confirm that they're the people I know'' Keristen replied. ''Whatever'' the mage didn't ask further and went to sit inside the carriage lazily.

''Um what? It's done just lile that? Who are they?'' Alexa asked confusely. ''Get in the carriage or we'll leave you behind'' the mage said to Alexa from the carriage. Alexa and the knight hurrily get into the other carriage and continued their journey to Karavosh.

In certain region of the deep forest,

15 dark figures emerged and sat down on different tree branches. ''Who was she leader?why did you let them go?'' one of the green robed figure asked. ''She helped us in the past. We owe her some favours''

After a while all the green robed figures took off their hoods. And they all.... seem to be females? There are five human females,three cat-eared females,six wolf-eared females and one reptile-headed female.

''What do you think of the opponents we faced just now?'' The reptile-headed woman asked seemingly to be the leader. ''The silver haired swordman is pretty tough'' the two human women said who fought the man ''and he seem good looking as well''.

''The elf girl is pretty swift with bows however she's still not experienced'' the three cat girls said who tried to attack Alexa. ''If not for the mage,we would've got her.''

''True,the mage's a real headache'' the four of the wolf girls who attacked the mage said ''We didn't think we wouldn't even get close to her. That red headed bitch is at another level''

''I can see that'' the reptile woman replied. ''As for the last knight..''

''He didn't engage, he just watched throughout the fight'' The remaining three human girls and two wolf girls replied. ''Honestly he seem weaker than other adventurers''

''He may seem like it'' The reptile woman replied '' However did you notice which direction he glanced at?'' The remaining six women were confused by the reptile woman's question. ''No..?''

''He actually glanced at you six's direction. Every single one if you who are still hiding''

''That can't be right, our presence becomes one with the nature''

''He may not seem like it but it's true. The direction he looked at is none other than your hiding spot''

''Are you saying that our stealth is on low level!?''

''No but that knight might have some relics or something that can see through our stealth''

''Make sense'' The six women said in unison after they understood. However, the reptile woman in the other hand,had a different thought. (Those relic costs a fortune.... He doesn't seem like a rich person. There must be something he's hiding. I'll have to keep an eye on him next time I see him)

[Unknown green hooded figures: a group of unknown people covered in green clothes. They're very swift and precise with the attack. All of them uses the dagger and short swords as a weapon. 9 of them showed up while 6 of them continued to hide.

The heat analysis shows that they are all assumed to be females in biology.
