Chapter 4

After parting ways with my newly selected knight, who still had to finish his daily training and prepare for his first day of service to me, I eagerly made my way to my room. Finally, I could delve into the magic books that Mr. Beckett had generously provided me.

As I entered the cozy sanctuary of my room, I settled onto my small desk, ready to immerse myself in the mysteries of magic. With determination in my voice, I declared, "Alright, time to study."

The essence of magic lies in the ability to manipulate the elements, powers, and supernatural forces to achieve one's desired outcome. To accomplish this, one must first understand the concept of mana, which is channeled through the body from the center core.

The mana core, consists of a large amount of mana in the center, with one or two revolving dots representing elements or specific powers such as earth, water, fire, darkness, and more. Typically, the majority of individuals have only one dot revolving around the mana core.

It's important to note that increasing the speed of the revolving dots can produce more mana, but it can also cause harm to the body. The body must adapt to the change in speed, or it may explode, with the explosion's intensity dependent on the amount of mana in the body.

To increase the speed of the revolving dots, one must master the dot/dots while improving the flow of mana through the body. This requires skill and training to achieve optimal control and manipulation of mana.

"I wonder if I can see my core?"

I closed my eyes and entered a meditative state, focusing all of my energy on finding my mana core. After a few moments of intense concentration, I finally located it and was surprised to see two revolving dots; one was a serene ice blue, and the other was a mysterious white, almost transparent color. However, they were rotating so slowly that they looked still.

I watched the mana flow from my core to the rest of my body in a constant, thin slow stream. My curiosity piqued, and I began to examine the two dots more closely, attempting to discern their properties. While it was clear that the ice blue dot represented the element of ice, I couldn't identify the meaning behind the transparent white dot.

Resuming my studies in the book, I searched for any mention of a transparent white orb and soon discovered its significance: it was associated with the power of teleportation.

Excited to explore my newfound abilities, I delved deeper into the book's teachings.

The limitations of teleportation are as follows:

The user can only teleport within his line of site and the user has to choose an object or living specimen to switch positions with

The range of teleportation is limitless but the further the distance the more mental strain and mana are needed

'Not bad' I thought as I read the restrictions they could definitely be worse but the restrictions still left me with a bunch of freedom.

Closing the book I was planning to ask Mr.Beckett to teach me about my ice and teleportation so I can increase my mastery of them and my mana flow so I would be able to use mana. Concluding my study I went into deep thought.

'Ok so what is my plan for the future'

'Knowing the events of the novel, the future is going to be tough with the demon invasion on the border. A huge war will happen in 25 years from now. With the lack of funding and soldiers from the royal family towards the border, the kingdom will get caught lacking and will suffer loss after loss until the army manages to restabilize and launch a counter-attack with the help of the hero.'

'I have many options at my disposal. I could fund the nobles of the border using the vast wealth that my father has at his disposal, but that doesn't solve the lack of an army. I could help the hero get stronger by funding him, after all, he is a commoner, but that only helps the hero and doesn't solve the main problem.

In the end, I arrived at the best solution in my eyes - I overthrow the royal family and make myself king. Of course, a civil war would just make the kingdom more vulnerable, but if I can win over most of the important nobles, then I can just kill the king without objection. Gaining support from nobility near the border, including the Duke of Greaca shouldn't be problem. The biggest issue with this plan is the hero he falls in love with princess during there stay in the academy which is very troublesome if I want to make him part of my plans'

With a deep sigh, I closed my eyes and allowed myself to drift off into a peaceful slumber. It was time to rest, and tomorrow was a new day.
