I stood in front of that door, with my heart beating fast in my chest. Arnou took one look at my pale face and asked if I was okay with concern in his voice.

Honestly, I was just trying to focus on my breathing, I was too nervous to even pretend like I was alright.

"I know you're tired. It's been a long day for you, with everything that went on today, it's a miracle you're still on your feet.

I'm sorry for being so inconsiderate. I should have seen it earlier. We can meet my family together whenever you're ready to do so."

Arnou said softly in a calm voice.

And slowly, my racing heart calmed as Arnou's woodsy spicy scent Arnou flooded my senses.

I was so tempted to ask him to delay the meeting. I knew he would agree in a heartbeat but I took one look at Alisa's face and knew I had to do it.
