A few days later, Diana has quite been struggling with her business as it was going to take longer than expected. Paperworks were starting to pile up on her table along with some invitations.
“Why do people keep sending me invitations?! I’ve already clearly stated that I’m not going.”
“Probably because they couldn’t move on from your appearance last time. This is why I hid it from you and you didn't listen to me,” Duke Erwin responded as he was arranging his own paperwork.
“I’m already busy enough!!”
“Umm… Diana, why were you here again?” Eric confusingly asked.
At first, Eric and Duke Erwin were only the ones together doing their work in the office but after some time, Diana suddenly joins in and started doing her work with her family which made them feel odd.
“I kept falling asleep while looking at the papers so I thought maybe you and father’s annoying presence would give me the motivation to work.”
“What… What kind… of nonsense is that?” at that moment, Eric knew it was pointless to ask her but still did.
“Hmph. Looks like you’re having a hard time with your business. I told you, you aren’t capable enough to run it.”
“Father, you’re so quick to judge things. Don’t worry, I won’t beg you for money. Stay still and watch.”
“I’m not worried.”
With all their bickering, suddenly, Diana once again received trouble news from Jonathan.
“Not again…” she sighs, “Where is he?”
“Sir Jonathan is waiting at the lounge…”
Diana immediately leaves the room, but on her way to the lounge, Duke Erwin and Eric were following her behind like chicks until they reached their destination.
“Oh, Dia-… Duke Erwin and Sir Eric, greetings… I apologize for my abrupt visit,” Jonathan immediately greeted after seeing both of them behind Diana. But their expressions weren’t welcoming him at all.
“Why are you both staying? Leave.”
“Diana, remember that I need a report on everything that’s happening and I might as well listen to the problem in advance.”
“Ah, I was getting bored with the paper works so I’ll just be taking a break here”
These… bastards!!!
Ugh, I don’t have the energy to argue with them.
After contemplating about them, she decided to let them be and even forget that they existed as she started to have discussions with Jonathan.
“What happened now?”
“I visited the workers today and it seems that most of them wouldn’t be able to go back working for the construction of the store.”
“And why is that?”
“Most of the workers couldn’t walk properly or even stand and this will affect us more.”
“What?! I thought that they only had minor injuries?”
“I also thought so since I personally saw their injuries but they kept insisting that if they were to get back to work, it could lead them to disability. Also, I got news from one of the dressmakers and they told me that some of the dresses were wrecked just this morning.”
Suddenly, they felt a menacing presence coming from Diana as they stared at her nervously.
“Looks like we have an enemy…”
“Wow, you haven’t even started yet but you already have an enemy,” Eric said as he bites his cookies.
“I already had enemies from in the past, including the both of you.”
“What are you going to do?” Duke Erwin asked in seriousness.
“... Jonathan, come with me to my bedroom.”
“Huh?” The three guys were quite surprised by how she invited Jonathan with her seductive look.
Seeing how Jonathan was gawking in the air, she grabs him by his collar and drags him out of the room, “See you~ Please don’t come looking for me until late at night.”
“Wa-Wait! Diana-” Eric exclaimed but Diana and Jonathan were already gone, “Father… aren’t you going to do something about thi-” Eric turned around and saw Duke Erwin with his furrowed brows, making Eric shut his mouth.
“H-Hey! Diana, I don’t know what you’re thinking about but I don’t have any feelings for you-”
“HAH?! What the hell are you talking about?” Diana annoyingly said as she shut the door, “Stop dreaming and let’s talk about the plan.”
“Oh…” Realizing how he misunderstood, he got all embarrassed not until he suddenly got surprised after seeing Darius in the corner of the room, “U-Ummm Diana… who-who’s that?”
“Who? Ah-” she rushed toward Darius and takes the phone from him, “Why are you here?! Shouldn’t you be training or supervising?”
“It’s boring,” he straightforwardly said.
“You… You’re becoming more like a kid as time goes on,” She sighs, thinking about where have the cold Darius has gone to, “Anyway, leave my room, I have a meeting.”
“... With him?”
“Yeah, so leave already will you?”
He stared at Diana for quite a while before moving and seating on the sofa as he planned to be part of the meeting.
“... LEAVE,” Diana demanded after seeing his actions that were the same as her other two family members. But seeing as he won’t budge, she suddenly had a deja vu and ignored him, “Fine, but everything you hear must stay in this room.”
“Why are we even going to discuss in your room?” Jonathan asked.
“It’s because those two were annoying me and now… another just added but never mind, let’s get to the topic. Here’s what we’ll do for now, tomorrow, separate the tattered clothes and those that are still fine then bring it all here in the manor. Also, we’ll need at least 10 dressmakers tomorrow.”
“Well, that’s easy but how’s that going to help with the construction and also don’t forget, you still have your enemies.”
“Forget the enemies, it’ll be a waste of time to look for them when we don’t have a single clue about who they are. We’re going to focus on preparing for the clothes and grabbing the attention of the people. We’ll have our opening just as we planned to.”
Diana discussed the plans with Jonathan while Darius and Eva listened to her plans and not long after that, a few hours have already passed.
“Alright then, I’ll start collecting the clothes, see you tomorrow,” Jonathan said as he walked out of the room.
“See you…”
After Jonathan was gone, Diana slouches her back along with a deep sigh, thinking how hard it is to run a business while Darius suddenly speaks up after staring at and listening to her for a while, “Are you sure this would work?”
“... I’m not sure. Maybe they’ll sabotage my plans but this is all I could do for now and I don’t mind that much since I got into the business on a whim, thinking that maybe I could do it.”
“I see…”
“You...You’re staring from earlier kept stabbing me, you know? It was so annoying, what were you even thinking?”
“... I was thinking how should I kill you…”
