Chapter 36 : Fighting for What’s Right

I marched down the long corridor, torches flickering as I moved passed them. People stopped every few feet to either solute me or give me a bow. The leather of my armor itched with each step I took, and I felt my lungs pinch with each breath. Despite my confidence and assurance, I still wasn’t used to this. Not anymore.
The past few days of training had been more than exhausting. The whole castle was a chaotic mess, each person trying to strengthen themselves and hone their abilities to be fit for the coming battle.
Only this battle would no longer be fought with only the warriors at hand. After a brief analysis of our numbers, it didn’t take long for us to realize our numbers were still too few. Even with each of the other packs throwing in their people, there weren’t enough.
